Checking in here, it's easier. I have most all my swaps in various stages of completion. I need to go buy a boat load of black paper though. I need that website again where I can buy Bazzill in Bulk.
Anyway, hopefully I can book it to the LSS tomorrow while I run errands.
I'm bringing my Epcot stuff with me to Maine. Hopefully that will be done shortly after I get back.
Ok off to make my list!

Ok I'm going to hijack Buffy's thread for a quick checkin everywhere. I will be on and off for the next couple of days. I'm still around. My best friend is currently in the hospital . She is 5 and a half months pregnant and the baby died over the weekend. Sadly she has to go through the labor/delivery and a funeral. I'm giving her and her husband as much support and help and I possibly can over the next couple of days.

Michelle I ordered from createforless today, and they shipped this evening! Can you believe it. And I think I got a great deal, 9 - 25 sheet packs and 1 - 30 sheet pack for $105 plus the free shipping! That comes out to 41¢ a sheet. Pretty darn good.

Right now they are in need of prayers to get through this. Even yesterday through all this trauma they called and sang me Happy Birthday! That is how amazing they are. She was told that the baby actually stopped growing about 16 weeks because it's kidneys did not develop. The doctors reassured her she can have more children and that there was nothing she did wrong or could have done to prevent this.
Mentally I am not sure how well she is doing knowing that for almost the past week she has been carrying the baby. The doctors told her she could carry it for another 6 weeks if need be they didn't seem to be in too big of a hurry to deliver. honestly I could not handle knowing that. They induced her labor this afternoon once her mother threw a HUGE fit about it.
Her sister in law went to buy the baby an outfit to be buried/cremated in I'm not sure which they are doing yet. My heart is so broken for them I can't seem to stop crying over the grief and loss they are feeling. It really makes you stop and hug your children a little tighter.
Thank you all for your prayers for them I know they will appreciate it even though you don't know them.

Kat, I'm so sorry to hear this... I've been in this position earlier this year w/ my best friend from home.. it's hard, very hard... but your friend and her DH seem like amazing people.. just reassure them it will be okay and never to give up hope..
Yes, it makes you hug and rethink life's "commitments" at a time like this... which in all honesty.. it should just be at a time like this... but you are a very dear friend and they are lucky to have you (as we all are).
Continued love, prayers and support from our house to yours & the families..

Kat the biggest thing that will help them is to let them grieve for their child. A lot of people will not celebrate the birth of their baby. They will be afraid to speak of it. Just send her a card on this day, just let her know you didn't forget.
A friend of mine had to terminate her surprise pregnancy because of multiple birth defects. Even though she hadn't expected to get pregnant again she still morned for this baby. I got her a little gold necklace with the pic of a mother and child. Maybe your friend will find comfort in something like this or a pendant with an angel on it.
Can we send you a card to get to her?

I so agree with Buffy on this. What a kind gesture. And so perfect, I'm sure she cherishes that thought and gift!
Speaking as a vet of multiple miscarrages (please no flaming) but one of the things that I found so difficult (and I know people were just trying to be helpful and supportive) was saying that I can try again...still have more kids...
I was mourning this one, and not thinking of the next one... I wish that just one person understood that when I was going through it. I really feel for your friend and her DH, it's just so sad...

I agree Deb, or the line "It was meant to be". I hate that!
The biggest thing is just being there for her and her DH, you can get a feel about they way they act, wether they would be willing to talk or just need a hug.

Kat,
I am so sorry for their loss. I just changed jobs in May and now work on a maternity floor and my first night on orientation we had a demise( that is what we call it). When I decided to change to this floor everyone told me that is the happiest place to work. I didn't realize how hard it would be. Our hospital is a catholic institution and they do such a nice job for the parents. We give them a box of memories along with a small ring to put on a chain. We also help with burial arrangements if they need help. We also as a staff give them a card from us. I wasn't sure how to handle this. I will say it is the hardest part of my job. Since May, I have had three patients that were as far along as your friend. It is nice to see the support systems they have all had in place. Your friend is lucky to have you and all your support. She will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you all so very, vey much for your thoughts and prayers. I know this has been a great outlet for me and I will pass along your thoughts and prayers to Jen.
Gregory James was born at 3:10 this morning. He weighed about half a pound and was 6 inches long.
She is doing as well as can be expected I just got off the phone with her. The hospital nurses were fantastic with her. She said they made him a little braclet with his name, and gave them a memory box with a teddy bear and blanket. The nurses did take pictures so I am going to make them a memory book so she can put her pictures in.
They are going to have an autopsy done and then baby will be cremated.

I know it will be hard...but if they can... I'd take photos... that is one lucky baby to have such loving parents, friends and family!!
I also worked on an L&D ward, I was only a secretary..but it always hit all of us hard..and I had to fill out alot of the papers.. they all knew when I was on shift because there were water marks!

I am so, so sorry, Kat. I have a co-worker that went through something similar and she still has trouble on her daughter's birthday. We give her lots of angel stuff year round and flowers on the day. I know it won't help them now but at least down the road they will know that Gregory is watching over them as an angel. to you for being such a great friend.
