"Best Buds" or "Lilo & Stitch".

If I go with the Lilo & Stitch topper I wanted to try to do it in a surf board shape. Does anyone know of any of the cricut carts with a shape like that?

Mommy bragging time.
This is what my 10 year old made. He designed it. He picked out the colors. He cut it on the cricut & paper trimmer all alone (I peeled them off the mat though). He ran the pieces through Xyron or ZipDry glued them himself. He flocked the white on Donald's face, himself. The face looks really neat in person with the flock on it.

The paper piecing is four inches. Too small and he wouldn't be able to do the eyes or tongue, too big and it wouldn't look right on a page (so he thought). He also made two tags because he wanted to make them. Since they are extra, I will let them be a surprise. He did follow the guidelines, they are double matted, embellished two ways with fiber or metal in the holes. :)

Mommy bragging time.
This is what my 10 year old made. He designed it. He picked out the colors. He cut it on the cricut & paper trimmer all alone (I peeled them off the mat though). He ran the pieces through Xyron or ZipDry glued them himself. He flocked the white on Donald's face, himself. The face looks really neat in person with the flock on it.

The paper piecing is four inches. Too small and he wouldn't be able to do the eyes or tongue, too big and it wouldn't look right on a page (so he thought). He also made two tags because he wanted to make them. Since they are extra, I will let them be a surprise. He did follow the guidelines, they are double matted, embellished two ways with fiber or metal in the holes. :)

Okay I don't think I will ever do another paper piecing for Lilo and Stitch again. I have been working on them for 4 days now. They are almost done, I just need to give Lilo some feet. I have sketches for everything, but a lot of it depends on if I can learn how to use SCAL fast -- laptop is still not here. Thanks! I went to Michael's last night and found some tiny blue beads. In the one on the left, I used beads and mickey heads that I punched out of blue paper.

I posted my ant paper piecing for Grp 7, HISTK -- I didn't want to startle anyone with the giant ant. I applied the flock with xyron -- supereasy. It is very humid here though and I think that is making the cleanup a little tricky. The tiny bottles don't help either. There will be plenty of flock to complete 8 of these as long as I don't spill it all over the place.

Yippee! I figured out how to use SCAL. The Marie titles are cut but need to be assembled. Marie paper pieings are finished, ants are finished and Maelstrom is in progress. Slow but progress is being made.

Cars --have the sticker sets, the cool checkered ribbon, just have to put the titles together. Is it ok to make a tag that's not really a tag, more of an embellished rectangle that's double matted with Lightning and Mater on it?

Goofy sticker -- you could try putting him on a piece of carstock and then cutting around him like a shadow. Then make a vertical photomat with extra room on the left side -- so maybe the small layer is 4 1/4 x 6 1/4 and the next layer is 6 1/2 x 6 1/2 -- this will give you an 1/8 border on the top bottom and right, and almost 2 in on the left. you can pop dot the matted goofy on the 2 inch margin. Not sure if the sizing works out and the goofy may still hang over the mat too much.

thanks for the idea...I think he's too big though. He's a little over 8" by about 4" wide. I might not be able to use him, but I would certainly like to, since I have 13 of them :rotfl2: Thanks for the help though!

You could also try like 123SA suggested matt him and cut him out, then cut that into half and place one half and double mat and then double mat the other half of him and make it into 2 borders. If you have a 2 page spread you could have him like he is pointing into the next page thru the other page. Not sure if I typed that out like I pictured it in my brain....lol

Now for the Goofy. Do you still have the swirls & things? You could use those on your topper and then plan your photo mat so that Goofy can be used on one side (like put brads/eyelets on the opposited side only) and just send him as is for the swapper to put on after the photo is adhered.

We have the minimum requirements so that everyone is going to get at least "this" level of quality back. I am all for the creativity and pushing boundries. Never feel like you need to hold back in one of my swaps.

She's excited about trying a paper piecing on the cricut, and will do the topper and both C & D. AWM, are you going to kill me?? :flower3:

MO2DK... I totally have to echo what AWM has said.. don't let little one do C&D any smaller than 5 to 5.5... those are killers... I got so po'd the other day I went and bought stickers!!! (well, it wasn't the other day because they were part of Dalton's baby book if I remember correctly, he got a tear drop on his page that I covered w/ a photo mat because C & D would NOT play nicely!)
