I thought I remembered seeing wine and beer in the grocery store on our last visit. Can anyone confirm that most groceries in FL sell both wine and beer? I would be nice to buy these items on our grocery run and not have to make a liqour store run too. Thanks!

:earsgirl: :earsboy: THREE MORE DAYS!!! :D

Lodgelady,

I'm pretty sure they do sell them--I remember having them on our past trips, and don't recall making a special trip to get them!

Have fun!

I think we are one of the only states that don't sell beer and wine in the grocery stores. LOL But, our liquer (sp) stores carry 30 pack of beer, couldn't find them down in Florida. We ended up shopping at Publix, the trip to the Super Walmart took too long, and the lines in the store are horrible. Even at midnight!!!

I don't know if this is a county or state law, but in our Florida county we can't buy any alcohol before 1:00pm on Sundays. Don't know about Orange and Osceola counties.

I think most counties in FL ban alcohol sales before 1:00 on Sunday. Plus most counties have cutoffs every day, some as early as midnight but most until 2:00 am. Otherwise, most grocery stores sell wine and beer and some even have liquor stores attached. It's just a matter of what kind of license they get (Florida liquor laws allow for 2 different licenses; one for just wine and beer and another to sell wine, beer and liquor).

Goodings has an excellent selection of beer, including lots of microbrews and imports. I was surprised to even find some Belgian selections. The beer selection in Florida has improved greatly since they lifted the bottle-size restriction last year (used to be you could only sell 12, 16 or 32 oz. containers - lots of imports and micros come in off sizes). They also have a decent wine selection.

I've never seen a 30 pack in FL. Cases are 24, though, so that should get you pretty close.
