Just returned from 7 day Magic on 3-23 (also, our first cruise was 4-day Wonder 2-2000). I often wondered this but always forgot to ask:) Why can't the drink servers on board give you a copy of the receipt (or can they??:confused: ). I know room service does (even when paying w/KKTW....for example.....delivering a 6 pk of beer/pop or more)

I just think that this would be alot easier to keep track of your expenses....you could compare your receipts to your "list"

Anyone have an answer??

They could probably do it, but it seems to me like it would be a major hassle unless they invested in some technology.

In the case of servers carrying around pre-mixed drinks, they'd have to go back to the bar (or some terminal station), print out the receipt, bring it back to you (assuming they could remember who you were and where you were located after serving all the rest of their drinks).

NCL does do this. Every time I got a drink even by the pool I got a receipt. I thought Disney did this too. What if we ask for one?

I don't know.....When we signed for our drinks....there was always 2 copies...and a couple times I almost took one and they stopped me. Just wondered....why not another copy for the customer?? It is just something I thought of that would be a good idea (IMHO)

I seem to remember getting receipts for most everything. Even the drinks by the pool and the smoothies at the WD Theater. Sometimes, they were scratched by hand but at least it reminds you of what you purchased. I never really asked for one and certainly was never told I couldn't have one. I'm confused since it wasn't that way for us.

Disneykids....are you sure?? I KNOW we NEVER got a receipt for drinks at the pool or bars this trip or last trip. I know when I went to take one by mistake....they said that you don't get a receipt and it would just be on your statement. I assume if I "insisted" that they would probably give me them......I am not sure....since this did happen with more than one server.

Hi Lisa. We also never received a drink receipt when we ordered drinks. We received receipts for every drink ordered on our past Carnival and Celebrity cruises. It is your only way of double checking your room charges when you get the final statement. Kathy

I know I got one in the theater and also recall getting one at the sail away party when I bought my beer and beer mug by the pool. I didn't ask for them either. Who knows, maybe I was taking that second copy that they didn't want me to have. They probably don't want you to take them so you can't add them up as you go! Might curb your spending!!!!

I know what you mean about trying to double check your statement. We went to guest services every other day...but with our bar tabs:rolleyes: it was really hard to tell if it was right or not.

Hi. We always got receipts for our drinks. I still have all my receipts put away form our trip. They were hand written though... But YES, we got them. The "drink guys" always had a big pad with them, and they'd jot it down and give us a copy, just like in a resaurant when you pay with a debit card. I see some people did get them, and some didn't. Maybe they changed their policy, but we most definately got receipts when we went.

We too got handwritten receipts for stuff bought at the pool and theater. Maybe the servers were just lazy?
