My paypal got hacked for $2,270.00

I would call PayPal even though it is after business hours. Call your bank too. Wouldn't the fraud department be open at all hours?

They are open until 10PM.

Log into your account, click on Contact Us then click on Service Center. It will give you a temporary ID # to use when you call to verify that you are you.

I spoke with paypal and they were very nice.

There had been 4 charges they had flagged.

What happened, it all started with FLOCK......go ahead laugh, laugh, laugh.

FLOCK< FLOCK, FLOCK

I was tyring to buy flock and the person emailed me saying I didn't exsist on paypal...well, I knew that was crazy, so I asked her to send me an invoice with her address.

I got it today and it was in CHinese or somethign, so I didn't trust it and besides I don't know what Flock would be in Chinese....so I went to the paypal website and it was in Chinese.

I saw 2, 260 in charges direct frolm my checkig account....eek eek

I immediatley called paypal. They said I didn't get emails, becasue the people figured out my password and diverted the emails notifying me of the charges.

They had already sent 4 items to dispute so I told them about the fifth.

They won't send out the payments to anyone but the bank may still put it in my paypal account.

I called the bank service center ND FOR 8 DOLLARS THEY ARE STOP PAYING ALL OF IT BUT IT MAY NOT STOP IF ANYTHING HITS TONIGHT.

Durn cap locks......

Anyway no flockin flock for me.

both places have had issues with hackers lately. I know I read about paypal someplace else. Guess it's time to log in and check mine.

Wow! I guess that is another reason I don't have a paypal account and only look on ebay..

I'm so sorry Susie.. that is just awful... at least they are working with you and getting all this straightenend out w/o a fight.... Keep us posted...

I guess if I want any Flock.. I'll go to the store and take care of it myself.. makes me glad that the flock I was bidding on didn't go through someone out bid me!!!

What a nightmare! We had a problem when an e-bayer claimed she hadn't received the goods (AFTER posting positive feedback! :scared: ) and it took us ages to get the money back - they just refunded her frojm Dh's paypal account with no quesitons asked:mad: And we don't get people to talk to very easilt - they do it all by e-mail as far as possible. So DH won't e-bay or paypal any more.

I didn't know there was an issue with photobucket - what do they do? I once had someone divert my emails but because I get so many I found out pretty quick, but its still a nightmare.:worried:

oh susie that's terrible. so sorry to hear all this. we had the same problem with our credit card and qvc. someone charged upward towards 10,000. and it was a nightmare for straighten out. but that was before the whole identity awareness. hopefully they can fix it quickly.

I've decide to become "unverified". I took off my bank account.
I still have a confirmed address, but now there is a credit card amount limit. Which is a good thing. It's not like I spend so much that I would exceed any limit. And it'll keep anyone who decides to hack my account from getting too much. :thumbsup2
