This about my 8th time going to WDW in the past 5 years. The last 5 times have been DVC (WVL, SSR). I stayed at BCV for the first time last week and experienced some mixed results.
The 2BR we were in was not in the best of shape. It did not appear very clean (whoever stayed there before went crazy with a newspaper splattering about a dozen bugs onto walls - they were not cleaned off for our visit). We have 3 kids that are picky eaters and we cook a few meals to keep them happy - only one of the four burners worked and it was the smallest one. The plates and glasses in the room were clearly not washed before being put back on the shelves.
Anyway, all these are just nuisances but more serious in my mind was the bus service. This is the first time that went to WDW where the bus service was noticeably slow. Not sure if it relates to BCV, but we took the bus/boat 7 times and 6 out of the 7 we waited too long. From BCV to Downtown Dis at about 8PM on Sunday, the wait was 30 minutes. From Downtown back to BCV at about 11PM, the wait was about 40 minutes. BCV-MK monday morning, wait was 25 minutes. BCV to DD tuesday wait was 35 minutes. DD to BCV tuesday evening, wait was 25 minutes. Boat from BWV to BCV, wait was 35 minutes. this was the week of 6/16.
We got so gunshy of waiting that we ended up renting a minivan for a few days.
Has anyone experienced a deterioration of the rooms/bus services like this? I was starting to wonder if due to high gas prices, that WDW cut down on frequency of buses/services.
Hi,
Regarding bug spatters and dirty dishes in cabinets, EWW!!:scared1: That is just plain gross!
Regarding the transportation, that does seem very long to wait. I would not be surprised if they have scaled back due to gas prices. Many times I have been on buses that only had a few guests on them. But I had thought Disney was implementing a new computerized dispatch where a driver enroute from one resort would be sent to another that had guests waiting. Can someone else comment on this?
