We had an early "Wake Up Wednesday" this week. One of the EA's had been to TO and brought home some Krispy Kreme doughnuts. This is the first time I've tried them. I had a glazed one and was impressed by how light it tasted. I eat maybe 3 doughnuts a year, so I'm not necessarily the best judge, but this was awesome. :D

Yep! They are good aren't they?! We'll be in Mississauga this weekend so we'll probably pick some up.

At only 210 calories, I can eat a bunch! But they have 12 gms of fat each! YIKES! CONFUSION TIME: Last Wednesday night I brought a dozen KK donuts to a School Council Meeting, well I had to get a dozen for my family. BUT my family doesn't love KK donuts SO I ATE TO WHOLE DOZEN!!!! YIKES! I ate 4 a day for 3 days! So instead of losing weight before our trip in a couple weeks, I gained 2 pounds! We have been eating a lot of Mexican food in preparation for CSR, again gaining weight! I'm not too worried about it, until I see the vacation pix LOL! ENJOY YOUR DONUTS, SEIZE THE DAY AND HAVE A GREAT TIME! Sandra

I've been to the Mississauga location and there is always too much of a line. Used to be 5 monutes from my old job. So I'm just waiting to get mine at the one in Kissimmee off 192.
Does anyone know the exact location? I know Old Town, Watermania, the Super Walmart and use them as reference points.....
Thanks

DH agrees about the coffee there. He says go to Tim's for the coffee! Sandra, I really wish you hadn't told me how many grams of fat there are in each one! Ignorance is bliss in this case! Knowledge leads to guilt! Oh well, in for a penny in for a pound (literally!)

I have a picture of Sandra chasing donuts along the highway in Orlando stuck in my head! Now we know the real reason she's going on vacation soon.:D

Oh I had to chime in! I live in Kingston now but I used to live in Savannah Ga. I hadn't had a KK for a long long time until.........some lovely vision of a woman stopped in at Queen's and had driven up from Toronto with a special stop at KK just to bring me a doughnut! God Bless her. One little doughnut and a kind gesture made my day!
Now close your eyes, open wide and forget the calories!

I had never heard of them until a co-worker of mine brought some in on a Monday morning after he had been to Mississauga that weekend. They were so awesome ! Well then lo and behold, I start seeing references to them on these boards -- made a mental note at that time to find out exactly where on 192 this place is as this will be a stop on our next trip that will rate up with Wal-Mart and the character warehouse on International Drive (lol). I figure I should just pick some up on my way into WDW and that'll be breakfast for a couple of days. The thing I find quite amazing is that they didn't taste like "day-olds" even though they were, technically by the time we got them at work. Probably something else in them that I don't need to know about -- the fat/caloric counts are enough info.

If you do stop- hint-when the red light is on outside the KK it means the doughnuts are just coming out of the oven! YUMMY.

A friend just dropped off 2 dozen at my house. They ought to last until tomorrow. One just isn't enough.

I still can't figure out what it is about them that everyone like I can't stand them I guess it is something new and most people like the new things out but for us it is Timmies or nothing. Just didn't care for the granular sugar feeling when eating the donut yuck

This thread to me is kind of funny - I am a Canadian who lives where Krispy Kreme was started and I have never liked them because their coffee is lousy. Give me Tim Horton's anytime. Everytime I go home to Sarnia Ontario I stock up on tins of coffee. My family on the other hand love to visit Kripsy kreme when they come down here to NC to visit. My DH and both DS love Krispy kreme - but they are all true North Carolina boys. I still love Tim's!

We were in Toronto on Saturday and, of course, I made sure we had time to stop at KK in Mississauga on the way home. It was around 2pm and there was a line out the door, but a girl came around with still-warm glazed donuts for all of us. I always hope there is a line for this reason! I bought two dozen, including devil's chocolate and glazed creme-filled, and they didn't last long at our house.
It's not that I don't like Tim's donuts, but I find that they are always on the stale side because they are all made so early in the morning and have been sitting around for a while. At least, this is from my observations. DH is a "die-hard" Tim Horton's coffee drinker, but he said that KK's coffee is just as good. Maybe it's the donut that helps! ;)
I'll be stopping by KK for a re-fill, after the May 11 meet! :D

Just returned and had a KK od. Our resort OLCC had KK's at the breakfast buffet and also as part of the breakfast for the timeshare presentation (may have almost made it worthwhile, LOL), also at convenience store. Also bought a dozen at the store (loved the glazed creme filled). They though I was crazy when I tried to explain the crowds at the Toronto location.

Mmmmmmmmm we were at the Boulevard mall in Buffalo with visiting family from Scotland today and lo and behold as we were leaving the mall there right in front of us was a KK!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc
We went in and bought 2 dozen ($8.99 US) and we all agreed they are the best! LOL But on the way home we stopped for Tim Hortons coffee to go with them! LOL Some things in life you just can't change! LOL;) :D
