LOVE seeing all the wonderfully decorated windows. The purple above is gorgeous!!
I'm planning a pirate themed window at POFQ for our stay. It will be the first time we've decorated a window.
So far I have:
Pirate Party Birthday banner
Mickey Head paint chips from Home Depot
gold coins/beads
jolly roger flag
Any ideas are appreciated!!

Hi Brandi,
Thanks for the compliment. I actually ordered the decals from amazon.com (type in Princess and the Frog Wall decals in the search box). They are wall decals that are removable and reusable. We had to hang them from the outside of the window since they are only sticky on the backside, but they came off easily and didn't leave any residue (I checked with a small decal before I hung them all up). I was also surprised that they stayed on the outside of the window with all the Florida humidity - I thought they'd curl up and fall off, but we didn't have any problems.
I hope you have a wonderful trip!

I decorated our door and the patio door of our room at the Poly. I am not a very creative type of person, so I am looking forward to seeing other peoples pictures so I can do a better job next year. I tell you, having a decorated door / window makes finding your room much easier! Our last name is Giek (pronounced Geek). I figure, if you have a name like that, you have to have fun with it or your life will be miserable. I am also a school teacher so you can imagine the looks I get when parents find out their teacher's name is Mrs. Giek!! :rotfl:

We will be staying at BLT this time around... would it be "appropriate" to have a door decoration there? I'm not overly concerned about people stealing the stuff... if they do they do.

Here are pics of our window at Pop from October 2010:

The lights were purple and orange and looked cool at night. The eyes in the lower left hand corner also blinked. My kids are older and we don't do whimsy very well anymore.
*sigh* So sad we're not going to be able to go this October. It's just not in the budget this year, or next year.

Here is my window from Pop. I also put some magnets on the door. The one on the right says My First Visit. We were facing the lake on the 4th floor at Pop so I don't think a lot of people saw my window but I still enjoyed it. The lights were orange, purple and green.

Do you have a link to the thread? I tried looking but I'm a newbie and did not find anything.
I called POFQ and spoke with Blanche. She said all she could only speculate the decorations might have been considered offensive or they might have had the potential to cause damage to the window.
She checked with the front desk. Decorating the windows is fine so long as the decorations are not offensive, not permanent, are removed by the end of your stay and do not cause damage.
Hope that helps. If you find the post I'd love to read it.

I love all the pictures on here, I'm super jealous of how creative you all are. I'm trying to come up with ideas for the window when my BF and I go down in May. He wants to do something Star Wars related because we're going to Star Wars weekend for the first time. He's a star wars fan, I've seen a few of them. It's proving to be a challenge.
Quick question, is there anything else people use to hang things on the windows? It seems like tape is avoided and suction cups are the way to go.

We decorated our window at Pop in May 2011 et Port Orleans Riverside in October 2011 and had no trouble. I used static window clings and at Riverside the mousekeeper added things to our window. ;)

Has anyone done decorating in a BLT Grand Villa. I am having trouble thinking of areas to decorate. I plan to attach a banner to the sofa table in the living room, but not sure what else to do. The room will be so high up that no one will really see anything on the windows, except for us when we are in the room.

Here is a picture of our window from our January 2012 Trip 2-8. We used the Cricut Expressions 2 to cut out vinyl lettering and bought our cute Disney window clings from the Dollarama. It was easy and quick to put up and even faster to take down and left no marks on the glass once removed.
