Anyone know of any trusted website that rent points, not a forum?

The DIS DVC Rent/Trade Board (http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=30&f=29) has been trusted by many over the past 9 years.

Just be sure to read the posting rules at the top of the board.

Good luck with your rental. :)

You can reserve Villas directly from Disney's website. It doesn't get any more reliable than that.

To be accurate, nobody actually rents points. In a DVC rental, the account owner makes a points reservation and rents that to you.

If you are considering renting a reservation, you should know that it is very different from a traditional hotel reservation.

Regardless of where you rent, the general info on the DIS Rent/Trade Board will be helpful, especially the FAQ.

Here's a link to a very good thread started by Disnyfanatic a while back: DVC Points Rental Primer (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1255828). It contains a bunch of good advice from a variety of knowledgeable folks.

I would recommend ***************. I have used David's site in the past when I needed extra points. Easy and no stress.

The DVC agreement forbids commercial renting. Disney doesn't define commercial renting, but lists having a dedicated website as one indication of commercial activity. So, pretty much any website you find will be in violation of DVC terms of ownership. How trusted can such a site be?

There's only one truly trustworthy place to secure DVC lodging - from Disney. Anything other than that will be somewhat more risky. Personally, I found it to be a risk worth taking before I bought in - but if you aren't comfortable with any risk, just go to Disney.

Individual DVC members who periodically rent their points is completely allowed by the DVC POS. The majority of rental transactions occur without any problems. A third-party web site that acts as a broker or medium between renters and individual DVC members is not against the DVC POS either.

What the DVC POS specifally forbids is one person or enterprise accumulating a lot of DVC points for the express purpose of renting them out, versus just using them for themselves and their family. That is commercial renting.

Anyone considering renting points should read the the Considering Renting from a DVC Member? thread.

But I believe the OP is looking for something with more permanence and more of a guarantee than renting from an individual member. In particular, they want a dedicated website - not just a facility for hooking up renters with owners. I'm just saying you can't get that within the TOS.
