I may not be able to make the May 11 meet. I have a chance at a part time job at a lovely little gift shop which would also involve working Saturdays. I won't find out until this weekend whether I've got (or want) the job, when I meet with the owner. I'll be so disappointed if I can't go. :(

Julie, I hope you can make it! A DISmeet just wouldn't be the same without you! BUT! We are meeting in July too! Maybe we can even do a little meet in June, a coffee and lunch at Shell Info Centre. Since it's so convenient we can meet more frequently, that gives EVERYONE a chance to get together! Even if the meets are smaller, more frequent meets give us all opportunity to pick dates we can make it. Hope to see you! Sandra

Hi, I talked to my dd and she said that we might be able to take my granddaughter and go to this Dis meet in the morning and then get back for her party in the afternoon. So that would be Bizzibee and I along with my dgrdd (8 that day).

How long do you guys stay for a meet?My DH finally has Saturdays off but with soccer season starting,practices will start happening on Saturday mornings.If you guys stay for a few hours I may be able to make it to finally meet everyone.

Kelly, I think we were there from 11 ~ 2ish, last time. Not everyone arrived at 11 o'clock. What time do you think you could arrive as there's not usually any big rush to leave by any particular time.

I wont know until Sunday night or even Wednesday night if there is practice on Saturday morning.If there is,it wouldnt start until around 10am and they usually practice 1hr-1 1/2 hrs.So it may not be until between 12:15 and 12:45pm.I am really hoping that i can come this time.

It's not looking good for us this time :( DS has started playing baseball for the first time in his life (he's 14) and being teens, they have chosen to practice late Saturday morning. So his practice is at 11.00 and goes for about an hour. That would make it 1.30 at the earliest for us to get to the meet. It's too bad, but I don't think we'll make it.

Baseball with kids is a blast! dd started playing last year and her first game this year is a next Monday. You meet the nicest folks and the kids have so much fun!

We will miss the folks that can't make it. July at Wonderland is approaching. It opened yesterday. If you got TELUS, the PERKS this month are discounted Wonderland tickets. They have specific days for as low as $20.50 (that's a Sept date), you can get a discounted ANY DAY ticket for $35! Excellent $$$$. Chat soon! S

We were looking at coming (no one has soccer or fastball this weekend), but it appears that this Saturday is the day we'll have to have our dog put down (she's 14) and I suspect we won't be in the mood for doing much of anything.

Mike ~ I am very sorry to hear about your dog. Animals are certainly a valuable part of the family. We had to put down on of our cats two weeks ago, just 3 days before WDW trip, he was 15 so I know what you are going thru. I am very sorry xoxoxoxoxox Sandra

I'm very sorry, Mike, to hear the news about your dog. I too know what it means to lose a pet. We will be thinking about you and your family on Saturday and hope you can come to the next meet!

Kathy, I'm so sad that you won't be able to make it! But there's always another meet isn't there!! :) I remember those baseball practices on Saturday mornings and going to all the baseball games in the evenings with Dan and Tim. Hope you all have loads of fun!

Hi Sandra, I am pretty sure I will be able to make it. I have a surprise 40th party to go to on Friday night out of town, but if i get up early I should be able to make it. There will be myself and 2 of my kids. The other is at an overnight b-day party for her friend and DH is working. Do we bring pictures at all . From Parry Sound:

It's a little tricky coming from 401 WESTBOUND because the SHELL INFO CENTRE is a rest stop on the south side of the 401 and only has an exit from 401 EASTBOUND. BUT IT CAN AND WILL BE DONE! LOL!

Take the 400 to 401. Take 401 WESTBOUND to exit 333 which is WINSTON CHURCHILL BLVD.

Exit onto Winston Churchill Blvd. turning left to go over the overpass and get back onto the 401, but EASTBOUND this time. It's just a turn around to get you on the right side of the highway.

The SHELL INFO CENTRE is about a km or less past Winston Churchill Blvd. on the right.

There is a WENDY'S, TIM HORTONS, small arcade and a Nicholby's shop with lots of FREE Ontario Tourism brouchures. It's definately nothing fancy, but it's a great spot to meet DISer's because it's open and we can move around easily.

We get our munchies and go upstairs via elevator of stairs. We went there for coffee last week and the upstairs was closed! I got them to open it up. I think the custodian didn't want to clean upstairs. The upstairs is usually empty. I hardly see others up there. I bring crayons for my kids and let them run around, it's good for that.

DIRECTIONS:

Here is a map from MAPQUEST, I hope it's not too confusing. It's very easy to get to from 401 EAST BOUND. SHELL INFO CENTRE is the first REST STOP after Winston Churchill Blvd (exit 333), less than one km from exit 333 from HWY 401 EASTBOUND on the right.

Coming the 401 WESTBOUND is a bit more tricky. There isn't an exit from westbound so you'll have to take exit 333 Winston Churchill cut off, drive over the overpass to get back onto 401 EASTBOUND then exit right away to SHELL INFO CENTRE.

I posted directions from 403 in an early post. From QEW is same as 403 directions but add about 10 minutes drive up Winston Churchill Blvd.

The Krispy Kreme is about 10-15 drive and there is a Walmart on Winston Churchill and the 401. Square One has the closest DISNEY STORE and that's about 20 minute drive. CHAT SOON! Sandra

I swear that I will never be able to get to one of these meets.Soccer practice scheduled for 11am Saturday morning.Cant skip it because DH is a coach and I have tried to teach my kids that if you are a part of a team you are expected to be at practice.So I hope everyone enjoys themselves and hopefully I will be able to meet you all someday.

Help! It's not looking good for us for tomorrow. DS is on call for work-he'll know by 10 if he has to work-we're planning on a trip to Wonderland after the meet and since we have to pick up our seasons pass, we all need to be there. Ok, hopefully he won't have to work so we can come but now, all night long I have been coughing and sneezing and feeling lousy. I will try my best to be there but..... Kathy

Hi Kathy, don't over do it. We'll be meeting in Wonderland in a couple months! We plan to go to Wonderland on Sunday, Mother's Day. We went last Mother's Day and it was DEAD! Guess not lots of moms request Wonderland for the day LOL! We went to the Science Centre a couple years in a row on Mother's Day too and it was DEAD as well. I fear the weather will be very cold and raining Sunday, but it's still the plan. dd's softball coach has them practising 9am Mother's Day, I told him we'd be leaving early, he understands.

It's almost 1am and I was up tossing a scrap book together, it's half done but I'll bring it tomorrow anyway. I have way too many pix to bore you all with LOL! She you all in the morning! Sandra--I feel ok-a good cold coming on I think. Iff DS doesn't work-we'll know in about 30 min. then we will head to the meet for a short time and off to Wonderland. It should be busy today since there is a High School Cheerleading competition going on and the schools were selling cheap tickets. Am I nuts?????? My DD wants to go really badly since some of her friends will be competing. Hope to see you in a bit. Kathy
