Now, SM still had about a 40 minute wait. This is my absolutely favorite ride (I love log flume rides) and it was my B-Day. Jonas said he didn't mind waiting in line, but it would have to be the last ride of the day because we needed to get back home since he had to work the next day.

So believe it or not, we waited. Line really didn't look that long, but with all of the FP people going by, it made it a really long wait, but we had a nice visit while waiting:

Jonas was showing Jacob how to touch each finger with his thumb quickly:

Obviously we aren't very exciting people.

Just throwing this one in so you can see my B-Day button:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/614081752_XPJV4-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/Florida-Living/Keith-Cheryl-and-Tanner-visit/9197847_ppEs9/1/#614081752_XPJV4-A-LB)

Now, you may have noticed no mention of my brother Tanner. He was with the church group and they had to stay in with the groups they started out with, can't have them doing things they shouldn't be.:rolleyes1 But we ran into one of the groups and one of the boys had lost his ticket so the whole group couldn't get FP's. They asked if they could use Dads, but I then explained to Dad that he wouldn't be able to use it for FP's himself, so they decided not to. But then after discussing how that was hurting the whole group, we were going to give it to him, but then never saw them again.:sad2: I felt really bad that I didn't just let my Dad give the kid athe ticket. I also didn't think about telling him to go to guest services and see if they could give him a new one. Yup, the  came on way to late.

We had a nice ride and Cheryl kept commenting on what a great long ride it was. And we got wet:

I just love all the birds at WDW:

Remember again, it was my BDay, now what else could a girl want at MK on her BDay? A Dole Whip!!!

http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/614085729_AJ5oX-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/Florida-Living/Keith-Cheryl-and-Tanner-visit/9197847_ppEs9/1/#614085729_AJ5oX-A-LB)

We forgot to take pics of it, but my Dad had one also and said he liked it. Of course we look like horrible people because we don't Jacob anything, but since they don't have chocolate, he won't eat it.

But he had fun playing with the guns:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/614088137_TbJY6-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/Florida-Living/Keith-Cheryl-and-Tanner-visit/9197847_ppEs9/1/#614088137_TbJY6-A-LB)

Sometimes the boy scares me.

Another one of those scenes where I can't believe I am in an amusement park:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/614089568_VXRhA-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/Florida-Living/Keith-Cheryl-and-Tanner-visit/9197847_ppEs9/1/#614089568_VXRhA-A-LB)

And I just love these trees:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/614090166_x59vi-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/Florida-Living/Keith-Cheryl-and-Tanner-visit/9197847_ppEs9/1/#614090166_x59vi-A-LB)

And that was it at the MK for my 40th Birthday!!! I had a great time and can't think of anything else I would rather do!

Next up I'll post some Photopass pics from that day and then on to Labor Day weekend and MNSSHP!

Great updates and photos! I love WL! so it was great to see the photos of it! Shame about the ketchup bottles, I wonder if they've stopped doing it? I've read a couple of TRs on the DIBB (UK site), and they said they didn't get the big hoopla when they asked for ketchup. I had read somewhere that there had been some complaints about WCC and some people felt intimidated and picked on, but honestly!!!! Some people have no sense of humour, and personally I think if you complain about the fun in WCC you should get a lifetime ban from WDW! rant over now...:rolleyes1

You posted while I was updating, so I didn't want to miss commenting on this. I totally agree with you. Guess the CM's taking ADR's should tell people "You may get embarassed at this restaurant" when people book ADRs. Maybe a sign out front also, they let you know that you may get wet on rides, why not embarassed at restaurants. Funny thing is, who is going to even know who they are.:confused3

Totally agree! When we were there the interaction was all really light hearted and in fun - not mean or anything. I guess some people just don't like any attention being directed at them, but all the reviews I had read about WCC said about the CMs and the jokes and everything. One guide book even said to wear a US or IOA tshirt to see what they said about you!;)

Anyway, enjoyed the updates! You look like you had lots of fun, it'll be my birthday during our trip next year and I'm hoping to get booked for WCC, and I want some fun!!!!

I love those trees. I need to print out pics to take to local Florists and see if I can get some of the plants they have at WDW. And it really was a nice 40th birthday.

We still can't remember what was going on that day. Hopefully I'll remember soon.

Book dinner, I have read lunch wasn't as exciting as dinner.

I apologize not updating in so long. Life getting in the way of Disney, it should know better.;)

For a whole year I had been waiting for this trip. We had booked it as a bounceback from when we went to MNSSHP in 2008. I hadn't told Jacob about the pirate room, so I was excited to surprise him.

Now, if you remember, we had a horrible time last year getting to the party, replacing brakes on the truck, getting there later than we wanted to, and getting lost within the All-Star resort area.

That was not happening this year, got the oil replaced in the truck a week before the trip. No other work to be done. Jonas took the day off work, so he could help pack and everything. The plan, drop dogs off at kennel, go sit in line at school to get Jacob. First we figured we would grab some lunch. We had been wanting to try this place down the street from us called Qdoba's, a Mexican grill. We thought it was really good, until we got to the house afterwards. Our stomachs didn't really like the food, lets just say I was worried about Jacob being trapped in the car with us.:rolleyes1

Mine seemed to clear up before we even dropped the dogs off, so I figured we were ok. Got them to the kennel, got in line to pick up Jacob, we were only the 10th car in line.:woohoo: Got Jacob in the car and on we went.

I had also researched the hotel and map really well, so we would know where to go to check-in and know what area the room would be in. We found the place where you check-in without a hitch, I had done the online check-in and I found the correct window this time.:thumbsup2 The boys had wandered off since they figured there would be a wait. Found them and off to the truck.

Found our building in Trinidad South without a hitch. Even got a close parking spot. I took off to take pics of the room before it was destroyed by us later:

For some reason there were two refrigerators in the room, the one outside the barrel was a lot cooler, so we mainly used it.

I really enjoyed this room. The foot of the beds took up a little more room than the normal beds in a moderate, but that was ok. Probably wouldn't spend the money for a pirate room again, but it was a great one-time thing to do. Jacob was more impressed with the TV.:confused3

Oh, and I was so excited that we got a corner room with the two windows, and I didn't even put in a special request for it.

I promise, MNSSHP coming later.

I just love the pictures of that room. Hey, but I wouldn't go around telling folks that the Flying Dutchman is really the Black Pearl...Jack wouldn't appreciate it, I'm sure! :rotfl:

I'm curious how much more you actually did have to pay for that room (no need to divulge here) -- isn't it funny how adults tend to appreciate room decor more than kids do?

Oops, I did say Black Pearl instead of Flying Dutchman. I actually had no idea as to how much more I paid, but looking on the website it was $25 more a night for the Pirate room. Something to do one time. Maybe if Jacob was a little younger he would have thought it was cool.

I'll throw in pics of the resort later, lets get to what everyone is waiting for. MNSSHP! If it didn't cost so much, I would go multiple times per year.

We got there about 4:30pm, so much better than the previous year when we arrived at 7:00pm.

Now, if you haven't been to the MK on a MNSSHP before, it is a little shocking to see the CM's divide up Main Street and direct traffic in and out of the park. I find it really sad watching everyone leave as we are entering:

I wish I had asked where this guy got his hat, it has to be an old one because I have not been able to find it:

The little signs the CM's hold directing traffic:

Even though originally this weekend was booked with the free dining, I ended up going room only to save some money. Since we have AP's, we would have had to purchase one day tickets for each of us to get the free dining and also I decided to have a weekend with no ADR's, no real plans. We were going to wing it! We decided on Cosmic Rays. This was in front of the register:

Now, we have eaten here several time, but we have always walked in one door and ate on that side, so Jonas and Jacob never knew about this guy:

Now we were ready to attack the park..ride the rides, trick-or-treat, watch the parade and the fireworks.

The Pirate rooms look awesome!
We're so excited to stay there on our Halloween trip - especially since we're doing Pirates of the Caribbean this year.

And how was the MNSSHP?
We're trying that for the 1st time this year too!

Our countdown is at 19 days!!

Fantastic, your kids will love the pirate rooms and so will you!

As I said before, I would go back to MNSSHP every chance I had if I could afford to do so. I just love it. I love parks at night, so I guess that is one draw, but love the parade and the fireworks. Love the music! Love it all!!! Your crew is going to have such a great time!

With our stomachs full we could now PARTY!!! Oops, party didn't start for a couple more hours, so what should we do....ride the rides of course. Even thought the park was still open to all guests, I think you will be shocked by the next couple of pics, first up was:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/643085772_wmEDx-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#643085772_wmEDx-A-LB)

Positively no wait for Buzz. I was in shock.

Next up was the Speedway. We had maybe a 5 minute wait for this one:

Jacob was practicing driving:

And I of course was having fun taking pics:

This was the week they were tearing down the old Skyway building:

Jacob kept bumping his Daddy, funny how he can't mash the pedal on the track but always manages to long enough to bump Dad:

Jonas had never been on the Barnstormer, so we headed that way. Check out this sign, it will look different later on:

Believe it or not, Jacob doesn't like this one either:

Afterwards we let Jacob play in Donald's Boat:

Thought this map was cool.

This is when Jonas informs me he really is not feeling well. That food from earlier was still bothering him, but he loves the party also, so he pushed on.

The CM's were getting ready for the trick-or-treating, it was almost time for the party to begin!
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/643101059_GrPzg-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#643101059_GrPzg-A-LB)

We still had time before we could start trick-or-treating, so headed towards Fantasyland. Jonas felt bad enough he didn't even want to do the teacups, which I didn't mind one bit.

First up was Winnie-The-Pooh. It would have been maybe a 5 minute wait, but it broke down. We waited for about 10 minutes and then it started working again. Jonas didn't mind seeing this little treat while waiting in line:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/643101941_mK8Qz-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#643101941_mK8Qz-A-LB)

Yup, that would be a "naughty" Dorothy.

Finally we were on the ride:

http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/643105545_KKJxJ-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#643105545_KKJxJ-A-LB)

We felt the same way Tigger.

While we were still in line for Winnie, we noticed the characters coming out, that only meant one thing, the party had begun!!!

Wow, the Magic Kingdom looks empty there!
Can't wait to hear about the party.

The pirate room looks fantastic!
I think it would be fun to stay there some time!

Your birthday sounds like a lot of fun!
It does sound like the perfect way to spend your 40th birthday!
Those last photos from that day of the tree with the flowers are beautiful!

Star Wars Weekends looks like so much fun.

I have started your other tr but am not through Busch Gardens yet.
Eventually I will catch up.

Hi Kathleen! MK was very empty. Planning on going to MK this Friday, hoping it is dead before the party begins. Wish we could stay for the party.

The pirate room was fun. And I did have a great 40th Birthday.

SWW is a blast. I highly recommend it!

Yup, you do have a lot of catching up to do. I have the same problem on a lot of other TR's I've been reading. Ok, on to the party...

After seeing Winnie and his friends, we decided to stop at our first Trick-Or-Treating stop of the night since it was right there:

http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/643109806_KdEY4-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#643109806_KdEY4-A-LB)

It was starting to get dark:

I can't remember the last time we had been on Snow White. I think it was our '08 trip before moving to FL. Jacob won't ever go on. Me and the camera were having issues also.

Saw this in the store:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/643114000_cDYV3-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#643114000_cDYV3-A-LB)

I went in search of that Jack hat again and the boys went Trick-or-Treating, which is when we realized Jacob had left his bag on Snow White.

Now, check out all of these CM's:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/643114234_2tybF-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#643114234_2tybF-A-LB)

Right before this shot they were lined up to keep people without wristbands from going past that point.

I went to where my boys would be coming out of trick-or-treating and asked the CM for another bag, which then the boys hollered they had already received one, so I gave it back to the CM. I didn't think we needed anymore than 3 bags.

Just another shot showing how empty the park was:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/643114514_AAw6n-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#643114514_AAw6n-A-LB)

And this was the trick-or-treating area the boys went to:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/643114813_StSLX-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#643114813_StSLX-A-LB)

And check out the wait for Dumbo:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/643115222_Y2GMk-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#643115222_Y2GMk-A-LB)

Sadly Jacob would not ride. I should have went by myself since I have never been on Dumbo.

http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/643115530_oJpDb-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#643115530_oJpDb-A-LB)

Next up:

So, do you think it is worth the extra money to do the party? I tried to get some shots on Peter Pan, but need some more practice getting the setting right. People were using their flash, Jacob fussed at them and I did too at one point.

After Peter Pan we headed to Haunted Mansion.
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/643117947_jJk7X-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#643117947_jJk7X-A-LB)

The boys wouldn't go on this one either:

We got in line to get our picture with the carriage (I didn't really like how it came out so haven't it purchased it). But check out the ghost:

The pirate rooms like amazing! Too bad my girls wouldn't like it at all. :(

I really want to do the MNSSHP. Low crowds! Looks like a blast!!!

I have been enjoying reading your trip reports. (I just recently decided I should stop lurking and start posting!) I just wish I could go back sometime soon!!!

Welcome, HilJoy! (I probably should have let Melissa welcome you first, but...)

I agree about the low crowdage -- love it!!. My DD just told me the other day that she didn't like it when you could turn right around and ride the same ride almost immediately -- she likes the anticipation! She said it made her feel lonely when there was no one in line...somehow, I understood that.

Okay...I promise to update our dual TR today, Melissa!!

:welcome:Glad you came out of lurkville and joined us. Hope you get back soon and that it is for MNSSHP, ok since that is almost over, hope you get back sooner than that.

I just love MNSSHP, especially the parade. It really is fun.

You know, I just realized they have these great rooms, more for boys, but they don't really have rooms themed towards Princesses.:confused3

That's ok Vickie, the nice thing about the Disboards is how welcoming everyone is. That's funny about your DD. Have you ever seen the video of the family that one the whole park to themselves. It sounded very lonely to me, but they had all of the characters to enjoy it with, but I would miss seeing kids faces and the parents watching their kids excitement and surprise. Ok, on to the parade!!!

It was time for the parade and the parade route was already full down Main Street (last year we were over by HoP, but I wanted to be on Main Street this year.) We found a spot by a trash can and let Jacob sit while we stood behind him.

Here was some pre-show entertainment:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/643128634_dQ6up-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#643128634_dQ6up-A-LB)

Pics of Main Street before the parade (what else am I going to do for 30 minutes):

Now, the Headless Horseman always rides before the parade:

http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/643135915_mpGib-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#643135915_mpGib-A-LB)

http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/643137332_Cntos-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#643137332_Cntos-A-LB)

To keep it safe they won't allow any feet off of the curbs, etc. Our little AP Passholder booklet that goes out quarterly states it is the same horse each year and he goes through lots of practice. Also, this horse goes at a good speed, so if you are at the end of the parade route, like we were, there is a long wait for the parade.

Now, I have a video of the headless horseman, but stupid me never uploaded it to photobucket(I don't the ability on Smugmug for videos, so still use Photobucket for that.)

So, my next update will be the videos from the parade and lots and lots of pics from the parade. I promise.

Wow, the colors are amazing! And I love the Headless Horseman! Looking at the body proportions, that's a pretty interesting sight...

The horse looks like a warmblood. Very pretty. I would have liked to have seen that in person!

I took a lot more pics of Main Street and all of the colors. Just love the way they decorate the park.

The horseman is very cool.:cool1: That poor horse and all of the flashes, the rider too! Ok, I hope to post this evening.

Great MNSSHP shots!
We can't wait to go next week!!

You are going to have so much fun, can't wait to read the TR. Do the kids know you are going?

By the way everyone, read their trip reports, I learned so much!

The only time you see that stuff is at MNSSHP. They have a lot more characters and I think it is so cute to see the characters in costume. So cute!

Once the parade was over, Jonas announced that he really did not feel well and he was going back to the hotel. He told us to stay.

Before he left he was nice enough to snap a pic of me with the hat he purchased me:

DFD

FD walked me back to the truck and wouldn't let me drive her back. As I pulled out of my space, my BFF, Vickie, called to check on me. They had just seen the news of the Monorail accident and she wondered if I had been there. Then as I am talking to her, I manage to take the wrong exit and end up, I don't know where, but eventually found my way home.

And that was it for my day with a fellow Dis'er!

Hey, glad you found that portion of my TR DFD.

Everyone this is the fellow Dis'er I spent the day with when DHS was so empty. Actually, we keep having that luck but more on that later and the bad luck.

Wow - the parade looks so amazing! I was hoping to go for Halloween this year, but it was not to be. I'd love to see MNSSHP!!!

Before I go further, I forgot to mention that before the fireworks, there was a family waiting on a bench whose little boy had a bubble gun. Jacob started swinging at the bubbles to pop them. The little boy then started shooting Jacob. They then preceded to start running around. Eventually the little boy ran out of bubbles and decided to wrestle with Jacob. Jacob wasn't sure what to do. Next thing I knew Mom grabbed the boy and the whole family had left, I felt bad.

After the fireworks, Jacob wanted to go back to the hotel. I wanted to watch the parade one more time and we hadn't done that much trick-or-treating. I persuaded Jacob to stay and we would leave after the parade.

Wait, what happened to the Carousel of Progress:

We got in line for candy. After the candy trip, we went on Astro Orbitor:

I love how they add little touches for the party:

We were heading to Alice's Trick-or-Treating way, where there were 3 candy stops.:cheer2: I tried to take pics, but didn't get any really good ones, but here is one:

After this, it was time to find our spot for the parade, but you will just have to wait for the next installment.

That's what I like about Disney -- all those little extra touches -- cute! The "Not So Scary" part is true...! I hope they keep it like that, instead of like the other places/parks that have scary people jump out at you with chainsaws, and stuff. :sad2:

Vickie, they will always leave Mickey's party like that, but it is rumored that they will have a scary party at DHS. I hope they do. One rumor included a Nightmare Before Christmas ride which I really hope they do one day.

Time for the second parade. During the first parade they gave out candy and all of it was chocolate. Before the parade started Jacob decided to work on his begging for candy face:

And the parade began, yet again.

During the first parade, Jonas thought the Madhatter was the same from 1900 Park Faire, but he doesn't look like the same guy here:

In the above pic, you see the two dancers on the left...let me back up a little. This lady came and sat next to us, with 4 or 5 kids. I think she talked on the phone the whole time during the parade, or even left at one point, but wasn't paying any attention to the kids. The youngest, about 3 stepped out into the parade route and those two dancers were so good that they saw him, and then helped him back onto the curb and then continued on. I wonder if they have special training for that sort of thing. They could have easily tripped over the little guy hurting him and themselves.

OK, back to the parade...Love those Gravediggers:

Just past the gate was a huge thing of candy. I think it was for the CM's standing at the gates giving out candy to refill their bags, but people were walking up and grabbing some. Jacob digs right in and gets 5 of his favorites...Tootsie Rolls. He was a happy camper!:)

I can't really tell about the Mad Hatter; he kinda looks like the same guy! But...Maleficent looks like a dude.

:rotfl: Jacob's begging face LOOKS JUST LIKE YOURS!!! Eerie...

And...I love the fact that the candy haul is on the treasure bedspread...but where is the mountain of chocolate? Oops...I forgot. The candy is for the kids, not the moms.

Finally: cool about the CM taking care of the kid that wandered out into the street. You really want the neglecting mom to feel badly about that, but the sad thing is, usually those kinds of moms never do feel badly, or even notice that the event took place.

We didn't get nice pics of those so I may have to "borrow" yours!!
But the MNSSHP was a blast (until all 3 kids fell asleep!!) :confused3

I've tried to refrain from saying it, but I have noticed several female characters that look like male CM's.

Yup, I can't deny Jacob is mine.

We didn't get that much chocolate, actually not that much candy, but I don't go to MNSSHP for the candy, I love the parade.

Those CM's were fantastic with that little one. What's bad, I'm sure the mother would have been upset if the CM's ran over her little one.:sad2:

Thanks! You can always borrow mine. During the parade is when I realized why people buy those external flashes for their camera's. The one on the camera couldn't keep up with me.

I can't wait to hear about your adventures and the kids fell asleep. I know that wasn't fun.

Hmmmm, I feel an update coming on.

I was going to update this, but just noticed that an update I thought I did last week isn't there.:confused3 So, now I'm little irritated. Need to find my happy place to continue. Too bad it is an hour away.;) But will be at POFQ in 4 days with Jacob and my Mom. I'm so excited.

Okay, Melissa, we've gone through the wonderful world of Disney with great pics of Halloween decor -- does Disney skip Thanksgiving and go directly to Christmas decor?

What's next in our grand adventures with you here? I'm excited to see what the parks look like during this time of year. :santa:

So, have ya'll been thinking of costumes? I'm looking forward to next year myself. Just keep hitting the candy stops, I don't think they care.

Basically the Halloween decor also represents the Thanksgiving decor. Lots of fall colors. They were just decorating the POFQ when we were there right before Thanksgiving. Sure is a lot of work switching over the parks like they do.

I am currently trying to decide whether to continue this TR, but I love sharing this chance I have to live so close to the parks. I at least want to finish up this section. Will try to update tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a great day!

I apologize for not updating in so long. But I am ready to now. So it is now Saturday morning, the day after the MNSSHP.:sad1: Remember, this was going to be a relaxing trip. Got up and took Jacob to the pool, Jonas won't be seen in a swimsuit so he stayed in the room. I'll post pics of the pool later when I do the review of the resort.

So, about 1:00pm we headed to Epcot. Jacob and I went through the turnstile, but Jonas' ticket wouldn't work. Now this is my fault, since Jonas normally doesn't go with us to WDW, I keep his pass in the truck to get through parking. So the CM tries the pass, still won't work. She walked it over to a little desk and they had to call some where to get permission to get a new pass. Here is Jonas...

DENIED!!! That's what I kept telling him.:rotfl2: He wondered what he did to make the Mouse mad. That's what he calls Mickey since watching a certain episode of South Park, which wasn't a very nice episode at all, not that any of them are.

Jonas' mission for the day was to go to Morrocco and eat at the Tangierine Cafe to get some Shawarma. We headed to the boat dock only to learn it was closed, so we headed to the other one. While waiting on the boat, we spotted this little guy:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658569766_UTBuG-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658569766_UTBuG-A-LB)

The boat finally arrived, the funny thing was, even though the one boat dock was closed, we still drove...floated through it. Why not have the one boat make two stops.:confused3 We had sat up front where I could look out the door, so of course I got some pics I wouldn't normally get:

Do you see the round things to the left of the CM, that would be our meat cooking. Jonas explained that is how they do it over there, something he had while in Iraq.

Jacob grabbed this table and as usual DS in hand:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658572340_LohqG-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658572340_LohqG-A-LB)

We decided to go outside though, so we asked him to grab a table outside, he didn't understand what we meant and just went outside and stood, so I finally went out and helped him get one. Guess he thought we were punishing him or something.

And the food:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658573740_M3Gim-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658573740_M3Gim-A-LB)

I went ahead and tried it, wasn't a big fan of it. Jonas said it was ok, but wasn't as good as what he had in Iraq. Now, Jonas mentioned some drink they had and I thought I might try it. I go in to order and some guy is trying to flirt with the CM behind the counter. She just isn't getting his flirting technique, he isn't getting the fact that she isn't getting it and keeps trying. I give up and go find my family. Wish I had a pic of the guy to post. Jonas had the camera though, here is a pic he took:

Hmmmm, maybe I am not the photographer of the family.

After that we decided to walk around the World real quick. I wanted an Italian Margarita.

http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658575414_rTxaf-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658575414_rTxaf-A-LB)

I was so excited. I love these things in restaurants, but this one was bad. It tasted sour and not flavor sour, but like it had gone bad sour.

Quick trip through Germany:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658575670_R7sjf-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658575670_R7sjf-A-LB)

We stopped at the restrooms on the way to TT and I had enough of the Margarita and threw it away, and barely drank any of it, that is how bad it was. Jonas tried it and said it was bad also.:sad2:

Next up, TT!

I love the Tangierene Cafe but I go for the Falafel Wrap.
Last time I tried the sliders combo - one chicken, one lamb, and one falafel.
Mmmmmmmmmm.

Actually, that is what Jonas ordered, but the CM misunderstood him.

So we made it back to TT to use our FP's. I decided to get some pics. Had the camera in my hand, when we got to the seatbelt check. Now if you have read about my Universal trip, you will understand how I got a little bit of anxiety when the CM saw me with camera in hand, but he smiled and asked if I planned on getting some great pics. Told him I was going to try. Here is my little photo tour of TT:

Jacob doesn't like to ride TT. He says it goes to fast. I keep telling him I go a lot faster on the drive to WDW, but I don't think he believes me. But he does enjoy looking at all of the cars on display.

Another post coming up, can you believe I had too many images in this one.

http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658585098_BHCCS-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658585098_BHCCS-A-LB)

Jacob likes to be the navigator.

Here are my boys picking on each other as usual:

Jacob had to make a trip through Innoventions:

We had never done this exhibit and I have to admit it was cool.

While we waited, Jacob had fun pushing the leaves and water around.
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658586867_tm7ci-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658586867_tm7ci-A-LB)

I don't know if camera's weren't allowed or if I just didn't take pics, but it was a good little exhibit. Saw some things I would like to have around the house. If you are ever in need to being indoors, give this one a try. Oh and one thing I really want in here is this device that is able to take humidity in the air and turn it into drinking water. I even looked it up, but couldn't find much info on it except to pay $25 and be on a waiting list, couldn't even find a price for the thing. Probably not cheap though.

We decided to walk over to the other innoventions. We all want this thing:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658589374_9YQ3i-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658589374_9YQ3i-A-LB)

Jacob loves to play with the muscial robots:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658589993_94Z4T-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658589993_94Z4T-A-LB)

And this is Jonas' favorite treat:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658591248_Sarob-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658591248_Sarob-A-LB)

He loves the bottle ones, but this is the next best thing.

Ok, the way palm trees bloom is a little weird, I guess it is blooming, not sure what to call it. See, back in Texas I worked in a building with a large palm tree in it, and we would walk in one day and find it all of a sudden had this thing sticking out of it, my friend called it an alien, here is an example, first the tree/plant:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658591552_gTfXS-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658591552_gTfXS-A-LB)

And now the alien:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658591899_MHUmB-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658591899_MHUmB-A-LB)

Time for a little shopping:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658592312_CGErp-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658592312_CGErp-A-LB)

And Jacob doing a little posing:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658592808_2zL2p-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658592808_2zL2p-A-LB)

We decided to check out the film of France, something we had never done before. Thought the film was ok.

We then headed to China to check out that film.

Just love these birds:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658593990_urnm4-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658593990_urnm4-A-LB)

It had started to rain, so the Chinese Acrobats were moved inside. Enjoyed the show, but couldn't get any good pictures without the flash. We enjoyed the movie, can't believe we had never seen it or the France one before this day. And people say there is not much to do in the WS.:confused3

That was it for our day at Epcot, except for one thing I had noticed in someone else's TR and I finally found them myself:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658564097_YHzhD-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658564097_YHzhD-A-LB)

Just bird houses, but something I had never noticed until I read that other TR.

This will be my last update until next week. Got to clean house for a party we are having for Jonas' office and then another Dis meet with DFD on Sunday. Going to hopefully spend the day with her and then have dinner with 30 other Dis'ers at Boma. Oh, and we have a party to attend at Jacob's therapy office. And the following Monday I am going to be volunteering at Biztown. It is a business set up they have for all 5th graders in the county to come in and work for a day. Should be an interesting day. So, I am busy for the next few days.

Hope you all have a great day and a wonderful weekend.

After our day at Epcot, we just went back to the resort and rested. The next day, Sunday, was a big day for Jacob. He was going to be a pirate:. I booked him on the pirate cruise there at CBR. We got up early and had him ready for the trip.

Now, we were told to be there by 9:00am and we were. Sadly the CM's weren't.:sad2:

http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658601997_mEhKX-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658601997_mEhKX-A-LB)

A few minutes later they appeared.

http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658602675_wj8G6-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658602675_wj8G6-A-LB)

Us parents had to sign waivers that if anything happened we wouldn't sue, etc. and also that we would be there promptly at 11:00 to pick up the kids. So much for that idea :rolleyes1.

Here is Jacob getting ready:

I gave him that camera to take pics and I have no idea what happened to it. Must be some where around the house, or still in the suitcase.

While the pirate: was away, we went for breakfast at the food court.

I'll put in comments about the food court when I do the resort review at the end of this MTR.:headache:

After breakfast we had forgotten something so we walked back to the room, which we ended up spotting the pirates roaming about:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658608518_gUc5h-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658608518_gUc5h-A-LB)

We heard a lot of commotion under the bridge, turned out they smashed through a gate. All of the Pirates were very excited about this as they cheered going down the river. Plus they were flying down the river at this point.

We had a very cool surprise in the room, the Mousekeeping did a great job here.
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658610392_pHBuV-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658610392_pHBuV-A-LB)

On the way back to pick up Jacob we spotted this:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/643221146_Ejkso-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#643221146_Ejkso-A-LB)

One of their clue spots!

We couldn't figure this out
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658611509_AVWSA-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658611509_AVWSA-A-LB)
there was one at each end under the bridge.

After a little wait, the pirates returned. Look at the treasure chest:

Now, one thing I did not think about was how hot it was and Jacob can not stand the heat, plus having a life jacket on was obviously making him miserable, but he was very happy to have his loot:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658618811_Ngvwk-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658618811_Ngvwk-A-LB)

After that we hopped on the bus for DHS.

Great shots of the Pirate Cruise!
We skipped that one since we tried the Grand Floridian Pirate Cruise last trip.
But we did notice the little bridge "guardians" and we couldn't figure out what they were for either.
Kinda funny though...

The Pirate Cruise looked like it was a big hit. Must be weird signing a "no matter what we do you cannot sue us" document....do they have a track record of disasters? :lmao:

Wow, Melissa, I missed hearing about this pirate cruise thing -- too bad Jordan's too big for anything like that now. If it had been me, I would have drilled the kid on everything!! "What were the clues, where did you find the treasure...??"

And Jordan's the exact same way with the heat -- she can't handle it.

Thanks for sharing this story! :)

Your DS going on the pirate cruise is what made me decide to put Jacob on this one, just wish I had thought about how the heat would effect him.

I'm amazed, you know so much about WDW and those "guardians" stumped you also.

The Pirate Cruise looked like it was a big hit. Must be weird signing a "no matter what we do you cannot sue us" document....do they have a track record of disasters? :lmao:

Gordon

Gordon, that waiver may have not been that extreme as I stated, but sure seemed like it. Went to the movies this past weekend and there are now commercials talking about how silly lawsuits end up hurting everyone, such as a public pool having to close because a man didn't follow the rules, cut his heel, and then sued. So, I'm sure if anyone ever did get hurt on ones of these cruises, it would be bye bye cruises.

That is exactly why I wanted Jacob to go before he was too big. I think 12 is the cutoff age. Would have been nice if he had a friend to go with.

And you kow Jacob, its hard to get info out of him. And isn't it funny how both of our kids hate the heat.

We make it to DHS and can't even get down the main way without being stopped to let this go by:

http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/643231027_7FdFF-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#643231027_7FdFF-A-LB)

Can you tell I am not a big fan of HSM? The funny thing is how many people kept trying to walk by us and the CM's finally had to start yelling at people to stop.

I have really got to complete this because I am forgetting everything. I believe, by my pics, that we got FP's for this:

http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658715620_fwq9u-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658715620_fwq9u-A-LB)

And then rode this:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658720093_aASdr-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658720093_aASdr-A-LB)

These are Jonas' two favorites. As far as TSMM goes, he could take it or leave it.:sad2: Now, Jacob doesn't like RnRC or ToT, but Dad makes him ride, so here are a few pics of how Jacob feels about this ride:

http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/643237546_WWKB4-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#643237546_WWKB4-A-LB)

See Dad smiling.

Look at the lady behind Jacob in this one:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/643238188_jcBka-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#643238188_jcBka-A-LB)

And the redneck ride pic:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658724727_huo5p-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658724727_huo5p-A-LB)

If you look closely you can see Jonas waving, guess he is waving "Goodbye World!"

After that we went in the Villains store, I was still on a hunt for that Nightmare Before Christmas hat, but Jacob found one that he liked:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658725436_mqsqZ-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658725436_mqsqZ-A-LB)

And one of those pics I hadn't taken before:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/643239905_ikyjC-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#643239905_ikyjC-A-LB)

Then Jacob had a great idea of a pic, if Irky416 is still reading, she knows this one:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658727271_3CDtN-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658727271_3CDtN-A-LB)

Next up was Star Tours, Jacob's favorite ride. Jacob and I are always trying to catch this little guy:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/643242574_h97du-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#643242574_h97du-A-LB)

We walked around the park the back way to TSMM, plus Jonas wanted to look for a hat he had seen in the Muppet Shop for Kara. Just a few more shots I didn't have:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658733836_Kv7bC-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658733836_Kv7bC-A-LB)

http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658734086_DNutk-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658734086_DNutk-A-LB)

Jonas found the hat and we were off. We decided to go ahead and wait in the standby line for TSMM, it is the only way to see this guy:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658737026_YjTpy-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658737026_YjTpy-A-LB)

Mine and Jacobs score, of course I won.
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658737902_apXZS-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658737902_apXZS-A-LB)
Don't feel bad for him folks, he wins at Buzz every time!

From there it was time for our FP's for RnRC. Poor Jonas always has to ride by himself and when they told us rows 1 & 2, I figured Jacob would pick 2 and Jonas would get to ride up front, but nope for some reason Jacob chose to do this:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658739083_jchpe-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658739083_jchpe-A-LB)

Since we didn't have ADR's anywhere, we felt we needed at least one meal that wasn't counter service, and I had heard you could eat at ESPN without reservations so we decided to try it. Plus, we got to try out the boatride over to the Boardwalk Resort. This turned into a great little memory, check out this duck:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658739932_cos5p-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658739932_cos5p-A-LB)

Him and another decided to join us:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/643266561_eiY8P-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#643266561_eiY8P-A-LB)

The captain was throwing food and watching them catch it throughout the trip. I am normally shy and won't speak to people unless spoked to, but I am trying to get out of this so as I walked off the boat I just had to ask, "Do they have names?" The Captain didn't tell me their names, but he said some do.:)

Jonas decided to get off at the Swan and Dolphin and walk over. Now it was about 4:00 in the afternoon, so you know it was hot and humid, remember doesn't start cooling off until October and it was the first of September. But look what was going on:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658742048_AUNG4-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658742048_AUNG4-A-LB)

Yup, a wedding. They were taking some pics there. The wedding was taking place to the side facing the Boardwalk sign. Would have made for a great picture, but you could tell some of the guests weren't too happy being in that heat all dressed up.

And I love this fountain coming out of the building, I guess this is the Swan.:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658743231_hhA5J-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658743231_hhA5J-A-LB)

A quick pic of the Yacht Club:

I think that is the Yacht Club anyway.

Here is the wedding pavilion between the Yacht Club and the Boardwalk:

Oops, almost at my limit, will continue in the next post.

Jacob likes to put his head down and play his DS, we keep telling him to stop because he is going to end up with the dent permantently in his head:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658749476_dFAwd-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658749476_dFAwd-A-LB)

Jonas loves BBQ and something they do in NC is put Cole Slaw on it, he was so excited to be able to get this here:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658750100_JPCnm-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658750100_JPCnm-A-LB)

I got these as my meal:

This is now one of my favroite things to eat at WDW. I just love those Nachos, sure wish we were going back soon, because I want some now! That Margarita was bad either.:goodvibes

All Jacob wanted was chips:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658750656_PCi36-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658750656_PCi36-A-LB)

I knew I could get him some chicken nuggets later:

After this we caught the boat back to DHS and then caught a bus back to the hotel. Now it was EMH at MK that night so I persuaded the boys to go. We decided to drive and can you believe I forgot my camera. What really makes me mad about leaving the camera behind was there was a Lamborghini in the TTC parking lot. Jonas and Jacob went to look at it. Who would park that thing there. I wish I did have my camera because Jonas said one man put his kids on the hood of the thing to take their picture. I'm sure the owner would love to see that one. :rotfl:

The next morning we packed up and headed home. I'll do my review of CBR next update.

Hope everyone is staying warm because it sounds like not only is it freezing here in the states, but over in Scotland also. 31 degrees here in sunny Florida this morning.

And, wow -- row 1 on the RnRC??? I am not that brave!! Oh, man.

Your DS going on the pirate cruise is what made me decide to put Jacob on this one, just wish I had thought about how the heat would effect him.

I'm amazed, you know so much about WDW and those "guardians" stumped you also.

The best we could think of was that the "guardians" were installed to prevent things like golf carts using those paths.

The CBR pirate cruise sounded like alot of fun and we may consider this one next time.
The other one that was intriguing was the Epcot one through the countries.
Sorry the heat affected Jacob so much.
I hope he still enjoyed himself.

Sounds like ESPN Club had good food.
That's one I'd like to try at one point.
Maybe a Spring Training game at Wide World of Sports and then dinner there!
Ah, if we only lived in Orlando like you guys.
I'm sooooo jealous...

I may have to go back and buy that hat. And just remember, the back is always the best seat on a coaster!

Wait, there is a pirate cruise through Epcot? I haven't heard of that one, or am I misunderstanding you?

He did enjoy himself, may have just made the others on the boat miserable.

Didn't think about golf carts, that is probably what those guardians are for.

That sounds like a fun day. Actually Jonas is planning on attending a Lord of the Rings gaming convention at WWoS in July. Not really something you would expect at WWoS, but hey, it means more time at WDW.:goodvibes

And we probably only have one more year here in Florida, so living my dream as much as I can.

Ok, going to a Mustang Roundup at Silver Springs this weekend so I won't get to that CBR review. I promise to next week if not Sunday when we get back. Have a great weekend everyone and try to stay warm!

Why only one more year in Orlando?

And, yeah, there's a cruise though Epcot.
It leaves out of the Beach and Yacht Club and heads towards the World Showcase before it opens to the public.
I believe the clues are on the coasts of the countries.
Sounds like it might be fun and I was debating it for the next trip.

Loved the last couple of updates. Love the picture of the turtle! :goodvibes And very cool to see a report about the pirate cruise. I've considered having the boys do that many times.

Being military, we move about every 3 years. Been lucky to stay 4 or 5 years in some spots, but this one looks like 3 years unless Jonas volunteers for a year in Afghanistan, which I have told him no way!!!! So, a little over a year left.

I didn't realize they had that pirate cruise, sounds like a lot of fun. Us big kids should get to do one also!pirate:

Hi Carissa! I know you are a busy woman! Glad you enjoyed the pirate cruise, sure hope the boys get to go sometime. It was fun catching our little pirate throughout his excursion, I know he didn't expect to see us.

Ok, will try to do the resort review tomorrow! Have a good night everyone!

I am finally getting to this review of CBR. Let's start with pics:

When we walked out the door and looked to our left:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/643070877_xHQrS-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#643070877_xHQrS-A-LB)

And to the right:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/643071260_fpAjr-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#643071260_fpAjr-A-LB)

The quiet pool that is behind the bus stop:

After we came down the stairs from our building heading to the bus stop, which is on the left and the laundry room, quiet pool is on the right.
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/643073165_HeFQj-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#643073165_HeFQj-A-LB)

The bus stop:

Main Pool:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/645076137_hva42-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#645076137_hva42-A-LB)

This is the kiddie area of the main pool:

Jacob was looking forward to this area just for the big bucket that drops water, but per the sign on the gate he was too tall so I didn't let him in. Probably could have since he wasn't going to use the slides.

But he had a good time on the two sets of slides in the pool, here he is looking down before going down one of the slides:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/645076203_UBDAe-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#645076203_UBDAe-A-LB)

And after the slide:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/645076226_ibEtZ-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#645076226_ibEtZ-A-LB)

The back side of the slide area, with the secret hot tub:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/645076280_CVzVg-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#645076280_CVzVg-A-LB)

That's the secret hot tub:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/645076322_M8sA7-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#645076322_M8sA7-A-LB)

Ok, it's not really a secret, but there is another one that is always packed. In fact when Jacob and I first walked around no one was in this hot tub, but a few people came by later as you see.

This is looking over to the little island we went exploring later:

Gosh - that water looked so smooth! And the turtles were really neat. :thumbsup2 I wonder what kind they were.

Your close up shots of the flowers were gorgeous. :goodvibes

Was there anything else on Carribbean Cay other than the canons, some hammocks, and some benches?
We skipped that last time and I'm wondering what we missed.
And the kids LOVED the new pool at Old Port Royale as well as the kiddie pool...

There's still some more to come, Smugmug got slow and I gave up in the middle of one more post. Sorry, should have edited and stated I'd have more. Glad you liked the pics.

I took pics of everything on Carribean Cay, so you didn't miss anything else. Not really for kids, seemed more like an adult area to hang out.:goodvibes

That pool at Old Port Royale was great. Wish they understood some older kids would like to enjoy the things they put in kiddie areas.

The morning of the pirate cruise, Jonas and I ate breakfast at the food court.

http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658615000_TV5yx-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658615000_TV5yx-A-LB)

This is the food court area:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658615274_ggP7h-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658615274_ggP7h-A-LB)

To the right are all of the different food booths and the left is the sitting area. Since POR is our favorite resort, we spent the entire weekend comparing POR and CBR. As far as the food court, we enjoyed the one at POR much better. The food was the same, but I found the setup on this one really odd. At POR the food serving area is in the corner, where this one is that long hallway, you have to cross over to the sitting area to pay, then once you pay, the area where you get drinks, condiments etc. is right there and honestly we found it in the way. Another complaint we had was there wasn't enough tables. I had wondered why the sit down restaurant was only open for dinner, well turns out they use that area for sitting during the day. We finally figured this out when we realized this one door was open, but then there was a table right there with people sitting in it and you had to squeeze by. At one point Jonas had to get something else and when he walked back through the door, this woman stated she was going to shut the door, which Jonas responded, "Then you'll just get hit with the door." He was a little miffed with her attitude, which, if her party had walked a little further like we did, they would have found an entire room with empty tables. We thought that was funny. Plus we had an amazing view of the water. I thought I took pics, but can't find them.

After eating we went through their shop:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/658615453_Cqb8r-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#658615453_Cqb8r-A-LB)

Sorry for the pic being so dark. I found it really strange that when you walk in the door from the pool area, you walk directly into the shoppe and then it also continues on to another room. I like the one at POR much better.

Also noticed the arcade is smaller at CBR than at POR.

And here is the Conceirge Desk:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/643224685_Gj9Le-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/Labor-Day-Weekend-2009/9560820_s7G7M/1/#643224685_Gj9Le-A-LB)

It was right next to the little shoppe area. The whole building just seemed really crowded, guess I expected much bigger since this resort is bigger than POR.

Well, that is it for all my pics. CBR really is a nice, beautiful resort, but I guess we are more of the Southern Mansion folk, not Caribbean people. I would stay at CBR again, but not sure Jonas would.

Well that is it for this MTR and honestly I am thinking about the end of this TR. I'm going to do a couple of short reports and I am going to do a report of Thanksgiving with my Mom, but think I will start a separate report for that. So, there will be a few more updates to come, I sure appreciate everyone still reading!:goodvibes

Have a great weekend!!!

Yes, you saw that correctly, I was kidnapped at WDW. The day was Saturday, 10/3/09. Coached Jacob's soccer game and then hopped in the truck to head to WDW to meet my friend DFD, remember I previously spent July 5th with her at DHS when it was so empty. We are going to call her Duck this time. She was at WDW again and had a seat available at 1:00pm for 50's Prime Time. Well, I couldn't resist 50's Primetime and I wanted to see my friend.

I didn't want to wear my lovely read shirt with "COACH" written across the back to WDW, so I stopped at a rest stop on the way and changed shirts. While there I stopped to text Duck that I was on my way and where at DHS did we want to meet. Back on I4, Duck texts me back that they are now at Epcot eating at Four Seasons. So I head to Epcot. Get in the parking lot and try calling, but no answer.

I send a text and finally when on the tram, Duck calls me back and says they are still at Four Seasons, I ask if they have time for me to eat since I am starving, no breakfast since I thought I was getting 50's Primetime. So I grab me a plate and then find Duck and her friends. They have to make room for me, but I squeeze in. So, the only person at this table I know is Duck. There are 3 other ladies and they all seem really nice. This one, Rebecca, asks what my plans are and next thing I know, she is planning on me drinking with them and staying overnight in the Duck's room.

We first head over to Soarin' because one of the ladies has one of the passes to bypass the line, I can't believe the name of it slips my mind right now. They weren't sure where we needed to go and then I guess we accidently cut in the group of people waiting to go in the FP line. The lady we are with gets upset about some of the comments made and we decide not to ride. So, we end up saying goodbye to two of the ladies and then are off. Duck and Rebecca need more alcohol for the weekend and some other groceries. I offer to drive since my car is there.

They point out the way to this really nice grocery store. Can't remember the name, but it was carpeted, which seemed really strange. Also, it actually had a little wine cellar...ok it was a walk-in fridge, but most grocery stores don't have that.

They didn't have the alcohol they were specifically looking for, but we found other stuff. I also got excited because next to the grocery store was a TGIFriday's. Hmmm, know where we can have lunch now when we don't want to eat at the parks.

So from there we go to Duck's home, SSR. My first time to check out one of the DVC rooms. It was alright, but with the little kitchen area seemed very small to me. She had a fantastic view though, right out her french doors was the water area at DTD and Cirque Du Soleil. Sorry, forgot to get a pic. Some other people showed up that Rebecca was spending the weekend with. Very nice people and I had to laugh when the lady, Christi I believe, mentioned that she loved WDW, but wasn't a big Disney fan. I am the same way. Don't get me wrong, I do love Disney, but don't make it a point to see every movie or own them.

About this time the alcohol comes out. Along with some snack trays. Now, Duck had made these things:

http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/678778480_2rpZF-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/I-was-kidnapped-at-WDW-100309/9944676_uxUdK#678778480_2rpZF-A-LB)

Basically Jello Shots, but placed inside oranges. I have to say I  them. I have to try making them for our next party.

I think I also had a Margarita. At one point I realized I was sitting in a room with my friend Duck and four other people I didn't really know, drinking alcohol. :scared1: This wasn't me at all. But, it was all good, they were all very nice Disney people.:goodvibes

Rebecca and her friends need to go check in at their resort, so Duck and I headed to DHS. Quick pic walking from her room to bus stop:

Now, remember the last time Duck and I went to DHS, no crowds. Well check this out:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/678784406_z2dT4-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/I-was-kidnapped-at-WDW-100309/9944676_uxUdK#678783910_LUp3c-A-LB)

This wasn't 9:00am or anything, this was about 3:00pm. Duck and I at this point decided we were each others lucky charms.

http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/678784860_4FFwz-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/I-was-kidnapped-at-WDW-100309/9944676_uxUdK#678784406_z2dT4-A-LB)

So, anyone guess where we were heading, ToT of course. One of our favorite rides, think we rode it 3 times last time we were together. How often do you see this:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/678786730_cmZZJ-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/I-was-kidnapped-at-WDW-100309/9944676_uxUdK#678787393_ZGY8M-A-LB)

Absolutely no one was in line. If you don't believe me, check out this shot:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/678787393_ZGY8M-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/I-was-kidnapped-at-WDW-100309/9944676_uxUdK#678786730_cmZZJ-A-LB)

I took it after sitting down, we weren't the only ones, there were three other people in the car with us:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/678791827_8PdxB-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/I-was-kidnapped-at-WDW-100309/9944676_uxUdK#678792439_rdmT5-A-LB)

And why do people keep staring at me taking pics while on this ride.:confused3

Actually, while waiting to get on the elevator we were all jumping around on the numbers trying to figure where to sit. Row 1, no, Row 6. The CM did tell us we could ride where ever we wanted. Now that I think about it, we should have split up with one in each corner or something. That would have been a great ride photo.

After our ride, I stopped to grab some pics I never take the time to get. Just outside the shop, anyone ever notice this staircase?
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/678794656_bJzQd-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/I-was-kidnapped-at-WDW-100309/9944676_uxUdK#678793844_taLPj-A-LB)

Guess what we did next...well of course we rode again:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/678795451_bGShN-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/I-was-kidnapped-at-WDW-100309/9944676_uxUdK#678794987_taYFR-A-LB)

Darn it, a few people had figured out there was no wait. Still was a walk on though.

From there we headed over to RnRC. They were having a problem we realized when we saw no one getting on the cars. The trains kept coming around with the harnesses down, finally one came around with the harnesses up and the whole room erupted in applause. We knew what that meant, we were going to get to ride.

I didn't have my camera bag this time, had only brought my camera. So I slipped it into the little storage bag, which Duck then asked "Sure it won't fall out?" Ok, hadn't thought about it until she said that, so I then proceeded to place my foot on top of the storage area, that was a comfortable ride. But here is a pic (camera did make it):
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/678796008_ExdRh-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/I-was-kidnapped-at-WDW-100309/9944676_uxUdK#678795451_bGShN-A-LB)

Since there still wasn't much of a line, we rode again. Got front car this time:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/678799390_uJgC6-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/I-was-kidnapped-at-WDW-100309/9944676_uxUdK#678799390_uJgC6-A-LB)

Now, Duck had dinner plans for Le Cellier, but she actually didn't want to go. It was decided that she would still go and I would have dinner with Rebecca and her friends over at the Boardwalk. Duck and I were running late. We finally made it to the Boardwalk by boat and Duck switched to head to Epcot. And I went with Rebecca to have dinner.

http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/678803988_jFTjr-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/I-was-kidnapped-at-WDW-100309/9944676_uxUdK#678803988_jFTjr-A-LB)

That is Kyle, Trevor, and Christa (I think I said Christie earlier, but do believe it is Christa) there on the right heading towards us.

While at dinner I tried another Margarita. It was about 7:00pm I believe. I can't remember what the name of the restaurant was, may have been the alcohol.:rolleyes1

While eating we were getting texts from Duck that they were still waiting to be seated and she was upset that she went. We were then going to go to the Karoke bar, but it was too loud for Christa so we decided to head to MK. Christa and Trevor headed for their car and Kyle, Rebecca and I hopped on the bus. I had fun getting to know some other amusement park freaks like myself and we had a good time laughing at Rebecca's Iphone. She had changed to a dress, no pockets, so she was slipping her phone down the side of her dress and every time she got a message or text, she lit up.:rotfl:

I'll continue with our antics at MK later. And do I and Duck continue to be each others lucky charms?

What a fun installment!! Sounds like you had a blast. :thumbsup2 Can't wait to hear how you spent the rest of the time.

I also feel like I'm a WDW fan, but Disney itself - not so much. That's why it took me so long to convince myself to go to Disney World. I just didn't think I'd be that into it since we weren't huge Disney fans. I do think we love Disney more now than we did in the past, but it's all to do with WDW.

I will have another update up this week.:goodvibes

We finally made it to MK. I believe we were still waiting on the Duck and others, so we decided to ride the TTA. One of my favorites. This was right after it reopened from the Space Mountain refurb. Space Mountain still wasn't open, but they had the lights on:

We all discussed how disappointed we were that the "Paging Mr. Morrow, Mr. Tom Morrow" wasn't in the script anymore.:sad1: Then we heard from Duck, so we met up with them and then rode TTA again. Got about the same pics so I won't post them again.

One of the new friends had one of the passes to bypass lines, so we used it to ride BTMRR. Great ride as usual. And from there we rode Splash Mountain.

Rebecca was worried about my camera, so they stuck me and Duck up front so I could slide it into the little cavity at the front of the log. I told them I wasn't too worried about it, between the floater policy on my homeowners and the plan at Best Buy, it was covered. We were enjoying our ride, still my favorite in all of the parks. When all of the sudden we stopped. Ok, this happens all the time. But then the lights came on. Ok, this doesn't happen very often. The camera came out at this point.

They were leaving us hanging, yup little drop coming our way.

Sadly, I don't have the Duck's picture. Hmmm, must meet up again to get more pics of the Duck!!!!

Then I realized that since we were stopped with no chance of moving anytime soon, I could snap this pic:
http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/678834258_hrTQQ-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/I-was-kidnapped-at-WDW-100309/9944676_uxUdK#678833749_q6nQa-A-LB)

It was a great ride, only one little problem, actually one big problem. We got soaked and I mean soaked. Duck and I started screaming about our lucky charms not being so lucky anymore.:sad2: It wasn't just a couple of us either, it was all of us.:scared1:

After that, it was time for the park to close so we headed out. I wish this picture wasn't so blurry because I think it would have been great.

http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/photos/678839907_Di4kT-M.jpg (http://jmskinner.smugmug.com/WDW/I-was-kidnapped-at-WDW-100309/9944676_uxUdK#678839907_Di4kT-A-LB)
After this I decided that since it was Midnight and I had not had a drink in 5 hours and that was with dinner I would be ok to drive home. I had parked at SSR, so Duck and I hoped on a bus after saying goodbye to everyone else. Once at the resort I hoped in the truck in headed home. I felt bad leaving Duck by herself. But I know she a great time on the rest of her trip. Even threw a BBQ, which I have to attend one some time.

Over all, I had a great time and met some really nice people that are just as crazy as the rest of us. I hope to see them all again!!!

I am so ready to ride Space Mountain -- I hope you don't post about it or show pics until we go. :) That's selfish of me, but those pictures you took just made me want to go more -- so excited!!!

Paging Mr. Tom Morrow could be heard after leaving Space Mountain, past CoP and right there at Buzz. A lot of people have complained of the change. Just a little Disney magic gone.

I may post a pic or two, but doesn't really show anything. Not much to see once you are on the ride.

Thank you about the moon pic. I am finally starting to get an eye for shots, just need to take my time and get some more camera skills.

Wow, I haven't been out here since 2/11. Well, I have decided to officially close this TR. I currently have two overnight trips planned, one in June and one in July, I may start a PTR for them, but not sure. Vickie has her's going, which I am a part of that trip.

I wanted to thank everyone for joining me on this crazy adventure. Some of you have been with me for the PTR for that trip back in 2008 and stayed with me the whole time. I have been very lucky to meet some of you in person and hope to meet many more.

If you aren't already a friend on facebook with me and would like to be, please just send me a PM.

This has been really fun!:goodvibes
