View Full Version : How long to wait once printed?

How long do you think I would be able to wait once I print the transfers? Like if I print them out this week as time permits, would I be able to, say this weekend, group them together by what goes on what shirt, pick a color and either go buy or order the needed shirts on line? Would that be too long to wait (printing them this week and making them next weekend)??

I have printed the designs on one day and ironed them on about 24 hours later before. Worked fine. Don't think I'd want to do it any sooner than that though.

If I am understanding correctly, you are saying you want to wait LONGER...
I do not think there is any time limit. Last year, I was making 50+ shirts and the easiest way for me was to do it in stages. First print them all, then cut them all, then iron them. This, of course, took weeks to accomplish and I had no problems.

I waited 24 hours before ironing most of my first batch of 60 shirts. However, I've done some since where I've waited as long as a week after printing and then did the iron on. They were just as good as the 24-hour wait.

Yes I'd like to wait at least 24 hours-probably more like 3-4 days (or a little longer).
thanks for the suggestions!! I really appreciate it!!

This is so funny, I was coming on here to ask this EXACT question!
Mine is a little different though.....I really want to go ahead and print all of my designs now and I will not be making my shirts until October. I am a teacher and I am out of school for the summer, but once I go back in August and soccer and all of the other extra afterschool activities begin, I am alway completely overwhelmed and have no "extra" time to do anything, plus any time I spend at the computer/printer will be related to my classroom planning/curriculum, etc. and my ink goes pretty fast.
So, long story short.....I want to print them, put them in a binder and then iron them on during our Fall break in October. I was just afraid they would fade or that the adhesive would break down or something in that 4 months. I really don't think anyone has waited that long, but if by chance someone has or just thinks it will be fine, could you please tell me so!!
Thanks!!

I've had some printed that sat for months. I thought that I would not use them but ended up using them and they looked just as good as the ones I ironed on a day or two after printing.
