Has anyone tried one of these before http://www.runningskirts.com/ They look really really cute - but I am a little nervous about trying one. I am afraid of revealing too much. And they are kind of expensive.

For those who have tried... Are they comfortable? Does the skirt fly up when you run or the wind blows??? Thanks!

Get one!!! I think most of the ladies here who have tried one really like it. The Athletic cut is a bit longer and the one I use. The legs tend to ride up a bit during the first mile, but after they will stay in place.

We have a few ladies are addicited to running skirts! :goodvibes

Yes, they seem like a hit for the most part around here. I have 3 skirts from runningskirts.com. (navy/white, black/aqua, and black/grape) I have been happy with them and they have done great on my long and windy runs. I like how lightweight they are. I also recently bought an Adidas "supernova" running skirt in black. It's another favorite of mine, it has compression shorts under it. I am starting to see more and more women wearing skirts while running around where I live. :)

Here is a picture I have in the black aqua skirt from RS.

I bought a maternity one so I have no clue about the regular style, but I like the fit and the fabric. (It's a little thicker and smoother than the skirtsports.com ones I have from last year). The side pocket is nice- I can fit my cell phone in it and it doesn't drive me crazy. That's a great price- I'd try it!

It did take forever to get to me, so I have to confess I've really only used it for walking and very limited running, so I'm not sure if it rides up running.:rolleyes1

I love, love, LOVE my skirts! Count me in as an addict...I have 5... :rolleyes1 All the running skirt style.

btw, they're not really that short. Ok, maybe it's because I'm short, but looking at my skirt tan lines (I only run in skirts) they are lower than my shorts, so go figure...

For what it's worth, i bought 2 running skirts at Walmart made by Danskin, and i LOVE them!! And they were only 10.00 each!!! I just love Danskin, 80% of my wardrobe is Danskin. LOL So, if you want a cheaper but well worth it alternative, check WM! I ran in one at the Minnie 5k, and i have one i am wearing for next March at the 1/2!

just to let y'all know, skirtsports.com has quite a few things on sale (like 1/2 off, in some cases) with an additional 10% off. I ordered 2 skirts and a top. The only drawback - shipping is really high.

Bridgetgabbie - you look fantantic in your skirt. And your weight loss stats are amazing. Amazing!

I picked up a running skirt at Target, it was like $18 I think. It has shorts underneath. I really, really love it!

Is there any chance of us getting another discount code again for RunningSkirts.com :)

Has anyone on the taller in tried these? I'm 5' 9" and a size 2, but very modest and often have a problem with all "active" skirts being minis. How long are the regular length?

get the "athletic skirt" style, as they are longer and have compression shorts underneath. The "running skirt" is shorter and has briefs underneath.

I sent Stacie a PM, she's the WISH'er who set up the other Running Skirts thread. She told me that we might get another code either in September or October. :cheer2: I'm hoping September since I have a race at the end of the month.

It was really more of a breakdown sheet.. these are longer, these are wicking, these have briefs, these come in larger sizes, etc.. with little symbols like they sometimes do with bathing suits! The testers favorite was the Sugoi Stamina.

Another skirt that I really like for running is the Adidas ClimaCool "supernova skort". It has compression shorts underneath. I have to say that I definitely favor shorts under a skirt versus the briefs.

I think I prefer the shorts too...I just received my two skirts from Skirt Sports (with the spankies underneath) and I think that I will have to send them back...I am just too self-conscious.

my runners world just came in the mail and the first article I read was the running skirt. I did not realize I was ahead of the curve, I have been wearing Nike tennis skirts to run in for since 03. I do love the Nike "running" skirts since they have the back pocket I can cram gu's in them. I am 5'10" but not a size 2, and love the length of their skirts. They are short but most running shorts have a 3" inseam and I am fine with it. I have no problem going shopping after a run, I just have to remember I may look cute but I am stinky.

A have a couple older Skirt Sports GymGirls and the shorts underneath ride up. They didn't at first, but I guess they quickly got stretched out? I love the fit on them, though. Has anyone tried the newer version GymGirl Ultra? It says the shorts are now compression and I'm wondering if they don't ride up. :confused3

I have the Minnie print Running Skirt. I had to buy a pair of black compression shorts to wear under the spankies underneath. It looks fine I guess, I bought this print so I could wear it down to the Disney races. I don't know why they don't offer this print with the shorts. Has anyone tried their skort style and do their shorts ride up, too?

Shan - I have two of these and love them! Wore one for the Minnie and have worn them on all my outdoor walks this summer. Never have a problem with them riding up, love the side pockets and comfy. Like that they're finally offering the shorts style in two tone.

Our Walmart doesn't carry Danskin anything. Wonder why. :confused3

oh, I've really had to stop. When I decided to start running back in May, yikes...I bought shoes, garmin, skirts, bras, tops...of course, the runningskirts.com discount greatly contributed to my skirt collection! I haven't bought anymore skirts lately, but I did pick up more nike sportstanks (my fave!) and more c9 sportsbras from Target (they had some on clearance last week!)
