New outfit comes to mind as the first reward and something that makes me smile.

I'm sure others have great ideas to add.

I have a reward list for every 5 lbs. The big milestones get a big reward, such as this $600 scrapbooking machine I want and booking a trip to Disney. Smaller rewards are a new pair of shoes (I love shoes), enrolling in a class, or something similar. I have them all written out from now until goal, so I have some motivation beside looking good.

writing them out sounds like a great plan!

writing them IS a good idea. I try to do something, but usually I'm at the point that I don't want to spend the money. I told myself when I loose 10 pounds I would get a facial, but now it's here and I don't want to spend the money. I want that money for Disney! LOL

I like to do something 'for myself'. I SET ASIDE TIME to give myself a manicure, pedicure, have DH give me a back massage (ahhhhh...), go see a movie, get a new lipstick, etc. I prefer lots of little things to one big thing :yay:

Today, I rewarded myself with a new two-piece swimsuit! Not quite an itsy-bitsy-teeny-weenie bikini, but it's a whole lot less fabric than I've worn in a very long time!

I try not to monitor my scale, because I found the numbers game too discouraging. I decided that I would use other indicators to measure my progress - how my clothes fit, if I could go faster/ harder/ longer in my exercise than before, etc.

I was pretty shocked (pleasantly) to look at myself in the mirror when I tried on the swimsuit. Wow - I didn't realize I'd made that much progress! Every hug from DH in recent weeks has been accompanied by "Boy, you feel a lot smaller!" I figured it was just his way of encouraging me and/ or earning brownie points! But I guess DH was right!

Off to put in some time on the stationary bike...

Well I had brought my self a little something before I left on vacation to reward myself for my loss to date and to remind me to stay on track. I told myself that if I kept track and did the best I could on program I would buy something at Disney in the home store for the kitchen that would remind me to stay on track when I was home. While I was there in MGM in that little store to the left when you come through the gates they have "stuff" worn by stars that they sell. Please don't laugh but I found a sweater size MEDIUM (which I am no where near yet) worn by Alexis on General Hospital. Cost $80 I decided right then and there that I would reward myself if I lost a total of 50 lbs by christmas. (I will be back at Disney then). To motovate myself for every lb I lost I would buy a DISNEY $$ at the disney store in Manhattan and keep that towards the cost of the sweater. So far, I have $20 put away to go pick up my disney $$$.
