My husband and I would like to go slow dancing at DTD and was wondering if any of the clubs play that type of music.

Thanks,
Laura

I'm not sure about PI but you and your DH might enjoy the Atlantic Dance Club on the Boardwalk.

Ditto. I don't think there are any clubs at PI that do the slow dancing thing...

(How romantic --maybe I can convince DBF...)

Does the Atlantic club do slow dancing? We were around there in May and heard only dance music, nothing slow.

I have always wondered where we could go slow dancing as well. We will be going back, without the children in September and that would be wonderful.

Are there certain days or a schedule for the Atlantic club??

Thanks

There is a small live band that plays at the bar in the Grand Floridian. It overlooks the main lobby. Pretty classy but never seemed real busy. You might be the only ones dancing, or just another couple or two there. Did you want a big area with lots of dancers or a small, intimate situation? I'm pretty sure you can also make song requests at the GF. You could call the hotel and ask for more details, like if they play every night, etc.

I thought that the Atlantic Dance Hall was more like your old-fashioned dances than a dance club but I have never been there so maybe you are right. I'm really not sure of the schedule although you could probably look it up on Steve Soares' site.

That band is wonderfu! When we came out of our amazing meal at the chef's table at V&A, they were playing! What a perfect way to end a perfect evening!

It was originally, back in the late 90s when swing dancing was briefly back in vogue. I don't know that it lasted more than 6 months with that format. Every time I've been back since, it's been the same type of "dance" music as PI, tho I've read of Latin music there as well. Either way, no real slow dancing.

Well, that's completely disappointing. You think they would have big bands there based on the name.

Indeed. Disney should try to cater to this.

I am so surprised that Disney hasnt thought of this yet. Especially where they know that so many people celebrate weddings, honeymoons, and anniversarys there.

Not that fast dancing isnt fun but sometime you just want the romance.

Who do we call, who do we write??? :confused3

Let the slow dancers unite!!! :dance3:
