Hi,

I have been looking into Discovery cove today and thinking about our 2009 trip.

I noticed this package- Discovery Cove is proud to offer a one-of-a-kind package for the ultimate animal lover who wants to spend more time with the dolphins. The Trainer for a Day package is all-inclusive along with the following activities:
Regular 30-minute dolphin session
Enhanced deep-water dolphin interaction with only eight guests in an entire lagoon
Experience a new behavior known as a double-foot push where guests ride on the front of two dolphins
Private, individual photo session with two dolphins
Behind-the-scenes tour of dolphin back areas, animal food preparation and record review
Spending the day with a trainer to ask questions and learn what it’s like to work with animals
Snorkeling with thousands of tropical fish in the Coral Reef
Wading with the rays in the Ray Lagoon
Hand-feeding birds in the free flight Aviary
Special meet and greets with tropical birds, sloths and anteaters
Discovery Cove gift bag with waterproof camera and trainer t-shirt
Continental breakfast, sumptuous lunch, plus all snacks and beverages throughout the day
Snorkel gear, swim vest or wet suit, towels, lockers, sunscreen, beach chairs
All day self-parking

I wondered if anyone has done it - or how does it compare to a 'normal' visit to DC? Just wondering if it will be worth the extra dollars 2008 price is $488 plus tax.

Has anyone booked for 2009 yet - if so how were the prices compared with the 2008 on the website? IS it best to ring?

I wont be booking till Aug this year when I know what flights etc IM doing.

Thanks for your help
;)

We did TFAD in 2005 and it was a very good day, no time for relaxing though! I did put a trippie on here, off to look for it.

Thanks

Could I ask how physical was it all -

when you moved from one area to feed others was it heavy going?

The reason I ask is I have some discs damaged in my spine - whilst I am fine moving- I can't rush, walking has to be steady. I also find lifting / carrying things for a while difficult.

Thanks

It was fine no lifting required as it was basically just watching things. The walking was not too energetic either and they would hold back if anyone was flagging. I have problems with my back/shoulder so they adjusted the final dolphin pull for me to the belly pull :)
