Can you take an electric skillet in the studios for making pancakes and such in the morning? Has anyone done it before and how did it work out?

The kids are only 5 and 2. I don't want to waste money on breakfast in a restaurant and not have them eat it.

Thanks
Ken

Sure, I don't see why not. I've only been in a studio at VWL and HH so far but there is enough counter space in both to set a skillet. I think its a great idea. Just keep in mind that all you get there is paper plates and plastic utensils. Maybe you could throw in a few unbreakable kid plates into your suitcases. That would make cutting the pancakes into little pieces and the syrup a little easier.

Have fun!

We take our electric skillet, waffle iron and Foreman grill with us when we go. When we stay in a studio, we buy extra plates, forks, cups, etc at the store.

Just curious whether you drive or fly?

We normally drive. Last year we lucked out and flew into Atlanta and had my sister drive all of our stuff to HH!!

That's makes more sense to me then. I'm always trying to "pack light"....I couldn't imagine flying with appliances. :)

Just wanted to say that we recently flew to Hawaii & packed our George Foreman Grill in our suitcase... it really didn't take up too much room & it gave us so much freedom to cook if we wanted to (which we did)... We used ours on the lanai, but I'd have used it in the bathroom if we hadn't had such a large lanai.... I liked using it on the tile floor just in case! I'd really recommend bringing such an item, especially with young kids!

Finally, a Family after my own heart:)

We take an electric skillet with us every year. It's not just for pancakes anymore. I make taco's and Betty Crocker skillet meals. Definitely saves on the dining out bill.
