I was skeptical about this meal going in because of all of the negative reports that I read on here. We went last Thursday for the first time, so maybe the changes are not for the better, but I thought this was an awesome meal.
From the time that we sat down, there was a constant flow of food to the table, and oh my word it was good. First we were given salad with some sort of lime dressing, very good, then the wings and dumplings I think they were called along with noodles. Next came the skewers, oh the skewers. First was steak, then the turkey and pork and then the shrimp. I thought the main course was to die for until......oh my gosh, the desert...bread pudding with vanilla ice cream and a banana foster sauce that you drizzled on the top. I had two boys, 17 and 18, and an 11 year old daughter who absolutely loved this meal. It was fun and delicious. I laughed so hard when the boys saw the desert and said "oh, that just cruel to give us all this food and then give us the best desert ever so that we are too full to eat it". Needless to say they ate it.:)

We stayed at the Poly Jan 08 and had ADRs here. DH and I both loved it! Very romantic, too... except I ate so much I was miserable all evening ;) - advance warning for all: save room for dessert!

Our first WDW meal was 'Ohana. Yes, the menu has changed a little but I remember my lovely fruity drink and that dessert -- to die for!!!!!!!!!! DH had a big ol' glass of milk with dessert - he loved being in WDW -- milk was a drink on the DDP and he drank alot of it!! (not many [fancy] restaurants serve milk!!!)
Great review -- I hope to someday make it back there. So many yummy places to eat and only so much time!!!

So glad you loved it! We went for the first time in April and it was one of the best meals we ever had at WDW....they should serve the dessert first!

DH and I went last September and left the kids behind with family at the hotel thinking it wasn't really a kids restaurant. We LOVED it- had great food, friendly service, and a FABULOUS view of the fireworks! There was a lot going on, with a Hawaiian musician/comedian, kids games throughout the restaurant and lots of audience participation! Lots of kids were there, too! Big Surprise! We're going back this year WITH the kids and am sure we will all love it again!

We have ADRs for Ohana's for the first time in July. I am so glad to hear so many positive reviews. My DS (9) is a huge "lover of meat" (as he says) so I am looking forward to this as much for him as for the rest of us. Thanks for sharing:goodvibes

I've been debating this one. I think DF will like it. This is all you can eat right? I also read on the allnets menu
that there is also an alternative childrens selection upon request
Does anyone know what the choices are? I dont think dd(9) will like the regular menu. Thanks

It's just 1 TS credit-- it's a pretty good value.
I've been there twice and the food was consistantly good. They do bring it out fast but I've never felt rushed there. I'd rather the food come out quick then sitting around and waiting forever.

We had ADR's for this past March and due to all the negative reviews about the change in menu's (We have never been before), I cancelled it. When I returned I have heard nothing but excellent reviews and pictures from people being there. I am going to book it again this March but this time not even read any of the reviews until I go for myself. The food sounds delicious and am very glad you all had a good time.:yay:

Yes, WC was OK but we preferred 'Ohana. 'Ohana is 1 credit. The Spirit of Aloha dinner show is the 2-credit one at the Polynesian.

Do they still have the Maui Scalloped Potatoes. I think I remember reading that they were taken off the menu? I just booked it yesterday and we are going in November and I am making our dinner reservations.

I am so excited to try here, we booked an ADR for our first night here in October, Is it worth requesting a window seat? There are 7 of us at 5:10, so we won't be seeing any fireworks. We have a 6, 4, 21mo. Is it good for lttle ones. I also read suggestions to order the kids different food. Any suggestions?

Since you have young children and won't be there to see wishes, I wouldn't request a window. They have coconut races around the restaurant and if you are by a window you won't be able to see your kids push their coconuts with the broom. I'd want to be more in the action.

No, we didnt have them, we had noodles but they were pretty good. I have never had their potatoes so I cant compare the two though.
