I need some help finishing my dining planning for our July trip. We are using the deluxe plan this trip, and are mainly using this trip to visit the different resorts and try alot of the resort restraunts. We will only be visiting the water parks. Can anyone tell me some counter service places that are a decent value on the dining plan? We have about 8 meals at lunch and breakfast that I don;t have reservations for that I would like to be able to kinf of wing.
Thank you for any help fellow disers!!

Our two fave CSs at the resorts are those at the Poly and SSR. AKL's is also worth visiting.

No question: Wolfgang Puck Express at DTD
The Mara at AKL also had some of the same items that Boma has (like yummy soups and zebra domes)

Like others said, Earl of Sandwich and Wolfgang Puck Express are both very good. We also really liked the counter service at PO Riverside. At PO there is a make your own pasta bar which is very good. You select all your ingredients, including pasta, veggies, shrimp, chicken and sauce and they make it for you. It is served with garlic bread.

Wolfgang express in DTD is my favourite counter service, but within a resort my favourite would be POR. The make your own salad and pasta's are great, as is the carvery dinner although I'm not sure it's available at lunch.
The pepper market as CSR is supposed to be fantastic value on the DDP, but gets very mixed reviews.

I agree! We ate at Wolfgang Puck Express three times on our last trip. Everything was great. Definitely a BIG step above fast food.
Pepper Market at Coronado Springs has a lot of interesting stuff to offer and is a good value on the dining plan, but it take a long time to go around to the stations & the "service" (people who bring you your drinks) is virtually non-existant. I would never pay the prices (and automatic gratuity!) they charge with cash but it's worth it on the Dining plan.

Thank you for your suggestions. We will be trying all of those and report back. Anyone have any good breakfast suggestions at the resorts without reservations?? We will be staying at the Fort, how is the breakfast buffet and do I need reservations or can we wing that one??
Thank you:)

We like the breakfast at Trails end at FW. Another CS lunch is roaring forks at WL, a quick boat ride over. The Pulled pork sadwiches at Typhoon Tillies at TL is also great.
Another vote for Wolfgang Puck Express. The Breakfast Pizza was terrific, and enjoyed the cornflake french toast. The lunch menu is also great!

We are using the deluxe plan this trip, and are mainly using this trip to visit the different resorts and try alot of the resort restraunts.
Are you stuck on counter service for these meals? Many of the deluxe resorts have a sit down restaurant that serves all three meals - if you are flexible and are trying for breakfast or lunch you could probably get in without reservations (especially if you check in with the restaurant to see if they can seat you, check out the hotel and then when your wait is up, eat a meal at the restaurant).
Some notable restaurants at the deluxe hotels:
Polynesian - Kona Cafe
Grand Floridian - Grand Floridian Cafe
Contemporary - The Wave
Wilderness Lodge - Whispering Canyon Cafe
Yacht Club - Captain's Grille
Boardwalk - Spoodles (breakfast only - does not serve lunch)
Boardwalk - ESPN
Beach Club - Beaches and Cream
Saratoga Springs - Turf Club
Old Key West - Olivia's
Animal Kingdom Lodge - Boma (breakfast only - does not serve lunch).
I think the food is much better at these places than at the counter service places at the hotels.
Because a great number of people are at the parks through the days, you can usually walk up to many of these restaurants.

Earl of Sandwich is at Downtown Disney, at the Disney Marketplace end...and the "original" is delish.

I also thought it was an amazing deal for CS. We ended up there almost by accident (seriously we got lost), and were amazed at what was considered a CS. I won't lie and say the food was 5 stars, but it was pretty decent.
