Question about pending Contemporary DVC

Just wondering if anyone thinks the Contemporary DVC, (BLT, is that right?) will be offered to those who currently have points at other resorts. DH and I have been talking about adding there when they decide to make it official. I was curious if the DIS experts thought we might have first dibs on points, or if it will be a free-for all when it's announced.

It should be offered to members first as with all past resorts. Guides have been taking names and numbers for a while now. Their call lists should be pretty long by now.

Should we call our original guide? We are fairly new at this, and thought maybe DVC wouldn't be offered to the members because the corporation thinks it will sell out quickly.

There has been no official announcement from DVC regarding the construction at the Contemporary Resort. If it is announced, details should be available soon after regarding the anticipated sale date. Calling your Guide now for the Contemporary would not be helpful to you at this time as they have no information to provide.

I can only speak to sales for BCV which was our first purchase.

Sales opened for everyone on the same day which was 2/3...hence my DIS name...2002. Guides may have "taken names" before that but sales only opened that sunday morning. In fact, even though we were new our guide knew we wanted to purchase and called us that am.

Interestingly enough, despite being hyped as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, the sales incentives for AKV got BETTER after the exclusive window ended. Those who waited a few more weeks to buy got a better deal...at least from a financial perspective.

We are thinking of buying into DVC but my husband doesn't want to unless its a monorail resort. I am wondering too how quickly does everyone think the Contemporary will sell out? Any speculations on prices?

If I had to guess, it will go on sale to everyone at the same time. However, members will be told formally before the general announcement.

I would say points will be ~110 with zero incentives and sell out will probably take a year or so, depending on how the economy holds together :confused3

I have feeling the wizard will be revealed very soon :cool1:
