We checked in yesterday Friday, June 20th and with the exception of a housekeeping issue the rooms are very nice. I love the look of this hotel especially the rooms :) It has rained both days but not for long and then has cleared up. We are having a great time, Magic Kingdom was open until 2:00 a.m. last night which we took advantage of. If anyone needs to know anything please ask and I will see if I can help out. This is a awesome hotel, very convenient.

Yes, we were having something to eat at the Grab and Go on Friday and they were demoing Chef Mickey's (I believe, if it is the one right near the Grab and Go?) it was quite LOUD!! Luckily they are off for the weekend :) We were at the pool yesterday and the construction of the new hotel (DVC) didn't bother us at all. I didn't realize that the pool is only 3ft 6" deep? the quiet pool is only 5ft? The water was warm but still refreshing. The lifeguards had the kids up and doing games and playing music and getting people in the pool to do the YMCA song they were having a good time. We will be dining at the California Grill tomorrow night for my sons 15th birthday :) They are also showing movies down by the beach at night but we haven't gotten there yet. Hope that helps.

Honestly, I don't think it is that bad. My suggestion to anyone is to get to the parks early and do as many things as you can before most of the crowds rolls in. Also, Fast Pass :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

We just got done watching the fireworks from our balcony, we are on the 9th floor. It was really nice to be able to watch from our room. Had dinner tonight at the Whispering Canyon, we took the boat over and were there in 3 minutes. Sorry for you Whispering Canyon fans but this was our second time there and sad to say our last. The food was not so good, the waiters/waitresses were really putting on a show tonight which was funny but after you sit there for 2 hours you get

Just a quick note to anyone packing for a trip for the Summer months here, it has rained at some point everyday since we have been here. So all I can say is don't forget the Poncho's :) :)

Blizzard Beach was a blast today ::yes:: I don't know if the overcast day stopped people from going but it was not too crowded :confused3 we hardly had to wait for anything, we floated in the Melt away Bay while it was raining. I am thinking that those may be the best days for the Water Parks.

We are off to the California Grill for Dinner for Konnor's Birthday I pre-ordered a Mickey Cake a couple of weeks ago hopefully we have no problems getting it. I have some read some posts on the Birthday Cake thread where some folks have had some issues with getting their cakes (Fingers crossed)

They seem to have rain in the forecast everyday? Don't worry it has rained everyday we have been here but it showers and then it clears up it doesn't last. Like I said Poncho's Poncho's Poncho's, it has been really nice even with the brief showers. Everyone puts on a poncho and keeps going :thumbsup2 You won't mind it.

Aww thanks, we just got back from dinner at the California Grill and I have to say we have dined here before and the service and food are always awesome!!! Our reservation was delayed for 20 minutes so we ended up being there for Wishes :) They had Mickey confetti on the table and upon our arrival the hostess wrote his name on a Birthday pin, I love that restaurant :) He got his Mickey cake with no problem, I had ordered right from the Contemporary bakery a couple of weeks ago. He got 3 birthday balloons and a card from Mickey in our room too. He is a good sport for being 15 ;)

Its crowded but I don't think it is that bad. It is hot, today especially we didn't get to Hollywood Studios until 10:30ish since my daughter and husband did the parasailing at 9:30. It was too late in the day so my plans are usually do the parks early go to the pool or water park then a park in the evening after dinner and after the sun goes down. Take advantage of the Extra Magic Hours they do help. Don't worry just go with the flow and enjoy yourself we are heading to the pool now to relax.

Thank you for your advice. I guess I thought because we had so many choices of hotels only a week ago when I made a last minute surprise trip for my DD and was able to get all the ADRS I wanted I thought maybe the crowds wouldn't be so bad. I guess I will see soon enough.::yes::

Last night we took the boat to Fort Wilderness for the Hoop Dee Doo Dinner Show and it was just as good as the past two times we have seen it. I love being able to take the boat especially at night on our way back we saw the electric parade :) I do love this hotel you get spoiled with being so close to the Magic Kingdom which is my favorite. Last night after we got back from hoop dee doo we walked over to Magic Kingdom while the fireworks were going off. It is a short walk not bad at all.
Today we went to Epcot and was there for the rope drop ran and got fast pass for Soarin and my family rode Test track. Walked the countries and had fish and chips yum:thumbsup2 It was pretty hot glad we were there early.
If you stay here at the Contemporary they have a coffee bar in the Lobby with pretty good coffee. I do love a good cup and this is one of the best that I have found aside from the cup I got outside of Animal Kingdom.
Tomorrow my daughter and brother are doing the Segway tour and we may end up at a water park again.
It is pouring right now and we have a 6:00 photo shoot at the Grand Floridian and dinner at O'hanas at 6:50 fingers crossed it will be over by then :worried:

Yay the rain did stop and we had our photo shoot at the Grand Floridian and got some great pictures. We then headed off to our dinner at the Polynesian O'hana's I am sorry but this was the worst meal ::yes:: We couldn't wait to get out of there, has anyone eaten there? The lady who does the entertainment is horrible, I swear she was drunk :lmao: the food at one point they brought us the steak it was red red red and fatty. I will never go again, and I am not that picky. So far California Grill has been our best meal. Today we are meeting up with my daughter and brother at Typhoon Lagoon after their Segway Tour. We only have two days left it has flown by :(
To all of you looking forward to staying here I love it. I go on the computer every morning to housekeeping to say how many towels, washcloths, room clean etc. and let them know when we will be out of our room. It seems to have been working great everytime we come back the room is all done :cool1:

Today was good, Typhoon Lagoon was fun (just a note, we had to wait 40 minutes for a return bus back to Contemporary  ) but I think we like Blizzard Beach better. Tonight we went to Epcot and had dinner at Teppan Edo we give it two thumbs up :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 it was really good. It is a must do. We stayed for Illuminations and hung out around Morrocco to watch, it was a really good spot. Matter of fact we were right up at the railing and didn't realize that they shoot around 3 from right above the water scared the .... out of me :scared1: We had to buy a couple of umbrellas it did rain for just a bit, it was too hot for ponchos.

Besides that it's great that you enjoyed Teppan Edo. :thumbsup2

Well it is 10:07 p.m. and this is our last night to watch the fireworks from our balcony :( We had Room 4545 which is located on the nineth floor (Magic Kingdom View) It is a really nice room great if you have 5 people in your party or two teenagers like we have. We had a really nice time lots of fun but I am exhausted how do people stay here for any longer than a week :confused3 I would definately stay here again, if Magic Kingdom is your favorite I would highly recommend this hotel. What is nice is that you can walk over take the monorail back, CR is the first stop on the way back :thumbsup2 If you rent a Sea Raycer I would do it late afternoon, we did it early afternoon and it was hot. Tonight we took the monorail over to the Grand Floridian and went to their quick service, it was ok. If you are visiting soon I recommend to be prepared for the heat and the rain, Ponchos/umbrellas and Misty Mates or spray fans.
We had a wonderful stay, we are heading out in the morning. To all of you staying here for your upcoming trips I don't think you will be sorry. Have Fun!
