Anyone have a good recommendation for a nice hotel near Universal Studios. We want to go as cheap as we can but we don't want a roach motel either. There are 5 of us and would need a room that would be big enough for all of us. Does anyone know of any package deals including off-site hotels for Universal Studios. Also, what hotels should we not go to. Thank you in advance.

Whatever you find, stay away from the Ramada Limited right on that entrance road! Security, cleanliness are serious flaws.

I posted all my gripes a few months ago, you can search my posts, but it is a very unsafe place.

I paid $107 a night for the Hard Rock Hotel (pool view) with my entertainment card discount. It's an amazing hotel! Beautiful rooms! Down comforters, CD player, a scale in the bathroom! Really worth the money!

Hi, there are lots of nice smaller hotels by Universal. I can suggest the Red Roof Inn which is close to the entrance. The rates are low,the rooms are clean. I recommend going to hotelmartusa.com. I always use them for the Orlando area and they seem to have the best rates around

I've been to the Howard Johnsons Universal Gateway many times and it's a great spot with good prices. Free shuttle service to Universal, Walt Disney World, SeaWorld etc. included.:D

Three star hotels (like the Clarion, Wyndham Resort) can be had for about $35 a night through Priceline. Check the latest successful bids at www.biddingfortravel.com. :D :D

The newest Universal onsite hotel, The Royal Pacific, which opens in mid June has been gotten for as low as $99 a night on the Entertainment rate.

The Red Roof Inn on Major is nice and basic and clean, and the Suburban Lodge offers low daily rates but REALLY low weekly rates for small suites. Both are fairly young hotels and I've stayed at both.

If you bid for a 3 star on Priceline, the Radisson Universal right across the street has been won for as low as $30 a night. This for a hotel I paid $100 a night for back in my first trip to Orlando in 1999! :earseek: That was BEFORE I found this board.

Good luck!

Really? I've heard positive reports on epinoins and planet feedback on that specific property.
They also have 100% guarantee so I'm not worrying about it.
