Either that or they're trying to get their post count up. :rolleyes1
Oh, that's true- that's another angle I hadn't thought of! That very well may be it!
I absolutely love this thread. And Nostalgic dad i've used a few photos for back drops on my computer. Normally when i come to this thread im happy and i want to see the disney magic. This time i guess i'm a little sad. The twins just told me they don't want to go to Disneyland with the rest of the family on Tuesday Dec 9th. They just turned 13 and are in the rebellious stage and i guess have " outgrown" Disney. I am so appauled and sad, and i'm done calling them all sorts of ungrateful son of a guns but my DH is right not everyone feels the same way I do about Disney. Anywho i camed to this thread to cheer me up and it sure did. sorry to rant in the pictures thread...
but it's good to see all the wonderful Disneylovers like me!!!!!
im still scrolling down looking at pics from o joe. lovely. Was rhianna in Disneyworld?
Oh, Pycees312, I HOPE your kids change their minds. DLR has so much to do for ALL ages, and chances are they will come around to loving DLR again in the future, but they sound like they are rebelling right now! Maybe spending more time at DCA would be agreeable to them, and they can focus on the thrill rides?
If I recall from your photos taken at Yamabuki (over in the dining thread), one of your sons has a beautiful, charming smile and looked like he was having a great time! Is he one of the ones who is still on board with Disneyland or is he in the rebelling duo?

good memory! that was my 5 year old who still loves Disney lol. You may have seen the twins briefy if you saw the TRavel channel DVC special in Sept. my DH and I were the couple in SF and they showed a picture of the twins age 13 now for a split second.. so far one has agreed to go lol.. so we shall see.

Ooooh! I have that Travel Channel DVC special recorded - in fact, when it first aired, I only watched the first 15 minutes of it and then got distracted, but recorded it so I could watch it later. I never got back to it, but I still have it! Now that I know you guys are in it, I am going to watch it later today!
Well, of one of the twins agreed to go, hopefully the other one is not far behind. Even if they just did what the big kids do and went on all the thrill rides, they could have fun and not feel too much like they were doing 'kids' stuff!

Okay, photographically, great shot!
Now, on a different note, am I the only one that thinks Tink looks a bit possessed in that shot?!!? She sort of gives me the creeps in that picture for some reason! I think it's the eyes.

I agree, Dreams! It's her eyes. They look ginormous. I think they made them bigger so you could see them from far? Who knows but her eyes do look a little loopy.

I haven't posted on this thread (maybe someday), but I just wanted to say how much everyone's pictures have helped me get through a really difficult couple of weeks. I won't go into details, but my father passed away this morning. It is amazing how uplifting DLR pictures can be. Thank you so much for such wonderful art!

I am SO sorry to hear that about your dad, Canyon girl. That is just awful. Words can't even express...but I am sure many of us on this board have gone through the same thing, or very similar things, and can empathize. I don't even know how you can manage to post on this thread right now, but I am sure I can speak for everyone when I say that I am so glad you did! If I recall, you were making a PhotoPass photo book for your dad, correct? Was he able to see it? I hope so. Pictures and memories are the best gifts ever, and I imagine your dad would have been thrilled.

I'm so sorry to hear that, condolences to you and your family. I know its hard right now, and a little uplifting is probably what you really need. I'm glad you're going on the DIS to find some of that. Take your time to heal because I know it won't be automatically right away. I am thinking of you and you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

I had to come back and edit, cuz this picture that I quoted on, is not quite your normal quality that I was thinking of!! And if someone new were to come on this thread, I'd hate for them to think this was your best. :rolleyes1

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss Canyon Girl. I lost my precious mother 2 years ago to this very day so I know the pain you are experiencing. Six weeks later after lossing our Mother, our Father passed away totally unexpectedly. :sad1: We are still reeling from the loss. I always used to say how bad I felt for people who lose loved ones around the holidays, and then it happened to me. But the truth is, it is bad anytime it happens. You will have bad days, let them happen, you can't fight them. But you will also have those times when you remember the sweet memories. I am still on a bit of a roller coaster emotionally. I'm so glad the pictures here have helped. :grouphug: And we really do care.

Sorry about the confusion there. Okay, It is a simple point and shoot Sony cybershot DSC-S500. It's a 6 megapixel, 3x optical, 2.4 LCD. I got it for next to nothing awhile back. I seem to collect point and shoots at my work when they go clearance. I bought my Dad a nikon coolpix about five years ago for $25...it was a 2 megapixel camera. It takes great pics though for being so old. I've got a nikon coolpix 4 megapixel, a kodak camera that I got for my daughter (it's junk) and now I just upgraded to my first SLR. A canon rebel xti. Would have liked a Nikon D80 but way out of my price range. It's another camera that is older but I couldn't refuse the closeout price and it's an SLR! Anyways here is one of my favorite shots from our last trip. Once Upon on a Time.....

I have kind of an odd request - didn't know if any of you could help. A friend is asking for any pictures of the interior of Harpers Mill (there is a Harpers Mill in DL, right? :confused3 ) for their autistic child. Apparently it is giving the child a heck of a time and they can't find any pictures of it online. I would appreciate any help anyone could give!

A friend is asking for any pictures of the interior of Harpers Mill (there is a Harpers Mill in DL, right? :confused3 ) for their autistic child. Apparently it is giving the child a heck of a time and they can't find any pictures of it online. I would appreciate any help anyone could give!
The one at DL has been converted to Pirate's Lair, so "Harper's Mill" is now called "Lafitte's Tavern", apparently. According to Wikipedia, there may not be pictures of the inside because they do Fantasmic on the island:
"It is rumored that most of the mechanics needed for the show are inside the mill."
The one at WDW, on the other hand, apparently does have an interior. There are some pictures on these pages,

Owl:
http://johnrozum.blogspot.com/2008/04/disney-world-part-4.html
Hope that helps! ;)
Added: Confirmation that you cannot go inside the one at DL,
"Lafitte's Tavern is the former Harper's Mill which has been part of Tom Sawyer Island since its inception. Despite the Explorer's Map lively description of the place, guests cannot actually enter the Tavern."

Joe......I saw that post on the Nikon Cafe and I was only able to find some from a distance that I provided. It sounded like your friend was able to print those out that seemed to help a bit. But, it looks like Robert TG has some of what your friend is really after......gears and the inside of the mill. :)

Awesome shot Canyon girl !! Its beautiful & how cool that you caught the cats in action, I've never seen them ;)
Thanks and thanks to Armadillo4. I had seen the cats by Hungry Bear Restaurant before, but never in such a crowded location. This was taken the Friday before Halloween, so you know it was bonkers around dark. The cat appeared to be watching the Tink light display. After awhile, he moved toward the left and appeared to catch something in the hedge. He was fun to watch!

Unless you knew to look for them, they probably went unnoticed by most guests. The photo I took of that Nemo was from a visit on Nov. 9, so it should still be there.

Thanks, DSF. You know, I could have sworn that I shot those in RAW and then converted but I don't see the original NEF's on my pc. I'm not sure why because I shoot everything RAW exclusively these days. I finally put together a pretty nice work flow that allows me to batch process all of my shots during the JPEG conversions.

I'm still hoping maybe they'll do fireworks on Saturday night 1/31, but if they don't, then we'll miss them completely. Looks like they'll be doing a parade on the Sunday that we are away from Anaheim and then not again until Wednesday, which we'll be at the airport by then.

Thanks a bunch! Taking pics on IASW is pretty easy with regards to your camera settings. That particular one was using f/2.8 and getting a 1/40 shutter at ISO 1600. I have others with even much faster shutter speeds that turn out well. :)
I agree w/ Wazowskilover it is a great picture! Did you use the Sigma 18-50 f2.8 or the 30 f1.4mm lens?
Thanks!

Aww... I like that pic. The Prince Charming reminds me of the one from the movie Enchanged.
Thanks travelmel! We saw that gentleman with both Snow White and Cinderella. He added such great effects to the storytelling!
That's a happy picture.:goodvibes
A hidden Mickey, you had to be there to see. Great shadow shot!
Thanks kaoden39 and Robert TG! I was waiting for my churro to finish cooking when I saw Mickey head down Mainstreet. Needless to say, the photo was more important than my churro.
NostalgicDad, great photo of Minnie. I love her Christmas costume.
eym, great Fantasmic photo. I still haven't seen it yet, but I hope it is going next time I am there.
