Disneygrl36, Tink and these details are found in Downtown Disney inside "World of Disney", there is a lot to see besides the merchandise.

There was no line at the HM when we got there, so I made my family stop so I could run over and shoot some pics of the graveyard. After I got home I got a real kick out of reading what the headstones said... Here's one of them:

Thanks Danauk! I have "at least" 2 nights planned to get some more night shots during our upcoming trip (9 days by the way!). Most of my shots are using a Sigma 18-50 f/2.8 lens. However, I suspect I might be trying out my Sigma 10-20mm quite a bit this time around. ;)

That picture just caused a flashback noise and feeling, like in Ratatouille when the critic tastes the ratatouille, in my head. Remembering my hat that I got at DL as child. The bucket hats in the front there reminded me...but my hat had a red visor, and I'm not sure if I had my name on it, but I remember watching hats get embroidered during that trip...I remember standing in line for the old subs....

Thanks for that flashback. :goodvibes

They do an I Spy game on the DCL and WDW threads. Somebody posts a picture and then you post another picture of something you spy in the previous picture and so on.

EmmersIsTheMommy

I'd start it if I had a pic!

What you do is start a thread with these instructions and a pic.

DISNEYLAND UNO!

I will post a picture, you may reply with a picture that matches mine in some way. It can be a picture of the same exact thing, or something not at all related. Just as long as something in the pictures matches (You can stretch it to 'hey this guy's wearing a baseball hat too!' or even colors in the photo if you can't find a great match.) Every person that replies will match the photo that the person before them posted.

It's way fun and can get really creative!

Scary, huh? Try this one on for size. DH is in the park. My DD4 and DD18 months are napping. I step out onto the balcony of the GCH to read while they nap. I close the sliding door and hear CLICK. Holy cow! The door locked behind me. Bang on door repeatedly. Oh yay, my kids sleep like the dead and wouldn't wake up if the USC marching band were in the room. Thank God the above is our view from the balcony. After about 10 minutes of sheer terror, I manage to attract someone's attention on the walkway below. They call over a CM from the GCH DCA entrance who calls my predicament in to the front desk. About 5 minutes later a nice CM shows up and lets me back into the room. My kids sleep through the entire incident.

It dawned on me later that I just should have enjoyed reading my book and waited for a) my kids to wake up and let me in or b) my DH to return from the park, rather than engaging the Panicked Mother Mode. It turns out that the many of the slider locks weren't adjusted properly, so they went through every lock on property and fixed them. They also comped us some really nice gifts the next time we visited. So the Scary Story had a great ending after all.

Robert TG

Thanks DSF! Below is the EXIF. I've gotten to where I like using a smaller aperture for longer exposures lately. This one was f/16 but I typically stay closer to f/11 depending on which lens and now definitely with the D300 body. ;)

Aperture f/16

I'm glad you liked it. Taking pictures without a flash in the dark rides is a real big problem. The combination of lack of light and motion give lots of blurry photos. The camera used was a Panasonic Lumix DCM T21 ...basically a point and shoot camera. It does have a "High Sensitivity mode" which I used for the low light conditions. This gave the camera an ISO 1600. I lost a lot of image quality to gain a low light image, but at least I had an image, and then I use the microsoft photo editor to try and enhance the photo. Still the scenes with the most light come out the best.
Motion is another problem, my solution was to take lots of photos, in the hope of getting some that are not blurred. I rode the ride five or six times (it's my favorite too) and took about 350 photo's, a small number came out OK, most a blurr.
The back seat of the ride allows you to turn around to take a photo without being in someones face and get another try at a photo from a different angle.
Here is one that came out OK. raw image and the second after I tried to enhance the image.

The camera used was a Panasonic Lumix DCM T21 ... Still the scenes with the most light come out the best. ::yes:: I have a Panasonic Lumix TZ3 P&S and it takes very decent pictures for a point and shoot. I now have a D80 that I use. I gave the Panny to my DS.
Motion is another problem, my solution was to take lots of photos, in the hope of getting some that are not blurred. I rode the ride five or six times (it's my favorite too) and took about 350 photo's, a small number came out OK, most a blurr.

Nice one! Is that from Tom Sawyer Island/Pirates Lair?

Yes, it is. We didn't plan ahead and we onlly had 10 minutes on the island! I was running around snapping photos as fast as I could!

Wow Dana, that is a great shot of Mickey. Did you have preferred seating? I just ordered a new camera the other day. I hope it arrives this afternoon. I have an infant, so I really cannot be w/out a camera for long. My son busted my old one (which was given to me) a week or two ago. So I needed one. I got a Cybershot Canon. It was recommended in a magazine I get, Cookie. It was on sale (the pink one, which I don't mind.) I hope it takes nice pics for our trip.

This is a really awesome picture... the distance/perspective is really cool. I have a picture of the Partners statue (where we're standing in front of it..standard tourist shot) and the castle behind us looks as big as it does in your photo here where you are obviously standing WAY back!

You are really talented!

It's so cute how you can see the photopass people taking another pic of the tourists in front of the partners statue in this shot!
