The picture was by crasher11 and it was the shot from DLH to DTD.

To OP: I also love that feeling of rounding the corner and being in DTD, seeing the giant tree at holiday time, and also the hat.

Thanks Winky

The Orange Stinger shot for instance was using a Nikon D80 and Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 lens. I shoot all of my night shots in full manual mode, meaning I set the aperture, shutter, etc. That particular shot was a 10 second exposure using f/16 for the aperture and ISO 100. Focal length was 46mm. Set up on a tripod of course.

It just depends on what I'm shooting but most of the night time exposures are in the 3-15 second range. I have taken some up to 3 minutes in duration, though. Hope this helps answer your question and thanks! :thumbsup2

The sign was added a couple months ago. And it's the Asian part of Pacific Warf where the Lucky Fortune Cookery used to be. The pic is of the side of the building that you can see from the lake.

Hi bumbershoot, Disneylvrforever has the location right, but it was actually up for just a week in June. Unfortunately, though, my timing was always off and I missed all of the performances (we were there 3 separate times during that week). I was really looking forward to seeing some of the traditional dancing as my DH2B is 1/2 Korean, but I don't know a whole lot about his culture. I saw some of it from afar while waiting for TSMM and what I saw looked really beautiful! Here's a blurb on it from Mouse Planet:

2008 Hi Seoul Korea Performing Arts Showcase
Disney's California Adventure will host the 2008 Hi Seoul Korea Performing Arts Showcase June 9 – 15, 2008 at a temporary "Festivale Internationale" stage constructed inside the Pacific Wharf area, just outside the Pacific Wharf Cafe. According to the event Web site (link), the showcase will include traditional dance, tightrope acts, singing and pageantry.

Part of the magic of Disneyland is when you enter one "Land" you no longer see the other "Lands". So I was surprised when I was on high point of the deck on The Coloumbia over looking New Orleans... I saw another PARK. Along the roof line is the MALIBOOMER.

Honestly; I don't care much for the ride. It always seems very jerky and I feel like the car is going to fall of the tracks. Mullholland Madness seems kind of like a carnival ride.

Oh yeah you got that right. In fact she was picked to help on stage in the Indy show. She was SO excited!! In fact she wants to be a Chef when she grows up and watches the cooking channel all day instead of cartoons and tells me she is going to be the next Rachel Ray! LOL In fact she was dissapointed that she couldn't find a "kid size" Disney apron but we did get Mickey measuring spoons and measuring cups for souveniers! ;)

Oh but I nearly forgot the other one DID get picked last October as the "scream" queen or whatever they call it during Halloween. The thing they do at DCA in the Golden Dreams theater? She was picked for the best Scream and got a great award so she is a bit of a ham herself! :)

Yeah it is not too bad but from where we sat the stunts were REALLY "fake" but that's ok. Like I said the kids really liked it so that is all that matters. And I have seen the show in Florida and it is WAY better! This show here is NOTHING like the one in Florida, it is MUCH better. But like I said this one is cute for kids. But the backdrop was cool and later in the week Indy came out into Adventureland and had a little fight with a villain and ran up into the buildings by the Bazzar so that was kind of cool to watch! :)

I always love all of your pictures, and one day I stumbled upon another thread where you post your pics also. Most of the pictures in that thread are from WDW.

But sad to say, I don't remember where to find it again. I was up to page 90, with many more to go.

Could you tell me where to find that thread again? :confused3

Thanks!!

PS- I love to see your DL pics in that thread. They do DL proud!!!:cloud9:

Thanks tinkermell! The thread you're referring to is most likely the "All New Picture of the Day Thread" that is on the Theme Parks Community board. Here's the link (http://disboards.com/showthread.php?p=26372336#post26372336)to the most current one.

I actually did use to post there but I haven't in some time. Although that thread is very friendly and there are some great photos, I sort of felt like my DL pics were "intruding" on the WDW turf. ;) One person in particular mentioned something about Sleeping Beauty's Castle in one of my photos. It was a compliment but also there was something about how DL needs to figure out how to have a castle taller than the trees. I know it was said in jest but I just figured I'd keep my DL pics in a DL thread. No harm, no foul. :goodvibes

These boats were once an attraction, called “Mike Fink Keel Boats”

There were only two boats. The Gullywhumper and Bertha Mae. The one used today on the Rivers of America is the Gullywhumper.

One reason why it is no longer a ride is that Gullywhumper tipped over and guests on board went for a swim.

If anyone would like to know more, there is a site called “Yesterland” that contains stories of all the discontinued rides from Disneyland. http://yesterland.com/

I used to love to ride these when I was a kid. The keel boat skippers were usually pretty funny. They reminded me of the Jungle Cruise skippers.

This has to be one of the most talented Cast Members in Disneyland. The faces that she pulls all day long, the snide remarks and humor must make this character one of the hardest to do. I was surprised that up close this CM is stunningly beautiful.

You're right. Even though the crowds during the daytime don't bother me at all, there's a feeling of blissfulness once darkness falls upon this wonderful place. I'll be there in about 360 hours and will take every opportunity during our 8 days in the park to just wander around aimlessly. (With my camera, of course!) ;)

No worries here. I know how much Cinderella's Castle is loved and admired in WDW and it is a beautiful one. Now, as far as me having ever taken any pictures of it.......I'd have to go there first! :goodvibes Maybe one day.

Hint: This cast members Uniform is the one that is worn when giving away the "Year of a Million Dreams" goodies. The CM's only give things away when they are wearing the WHITE VEST. Otherwise (without the white vest) their job is to try and make guests happy. What a Job! :cool1:
