I love this shot! We're going for our first DL trip in April and I'm making a folder of shots to get for our trip. Can I ask how you were standing for this shot. It looks like maybe you lifted the camera up over your head maybe? I'm just not familer enough with this park to know how to get this one. Unless you really are as tall as a light pole! :goodvibes

Thank you. I was probably standing at about the second shop back from the end of main street. I zoomed in on the flowers (about 5x on a P&S or 105mm on DSLR). And no I did not have it over my head but I am 6'4", but I don't think that is as tall as a light pole. :rotfl2:

There is no need to be extremely tall to get a photo from on high.

Are the benches/planter box around the big "water globe" new? I haven't been to DLR since last summer.....but I remember this being in an open court like setting with no planter boxes/benches..............or am I just crazy?:confused3

Well that looks new to me! We were there on the 24th and there was a big wall around the area there. so I guess that is what they were up to. Pretty cool. I love that globe:)

Love this picture. Seen a few pics of these statues and must get one of my own, where abouts in the park is it?

They are on the right side of the castle down a path near the wishing well. They're made of marble and they put them in that display to use forced perspective. When they carved them, the sculptors made them all the same size so the dwarves are the same height as Snow White...Oops!

I'm not sure you can purchase them, but maybe one of the shops has a similar-ish set of replicas?

we used early entry to ride the dark rides. and while walking to the rides, we thought that the castle and the Mountain looked awesome, so i took some pictures. :)

I took that from our 7th floor balcony at the HoJo. Of course, it's also at 300mm (450mm with sensor crop factor). The orange glow looks like the sunset but is actually during a brief moment from the F! show.

I had a feeling that's where you took it from. I have one similar to it that I took from the 7th floor at Hojos, back in the olden days of film! ;)

Mike... I use "Microsoft Photo Editor" I open the photo with Microsoft photo editor and then click "Image" on the tool bar and a drop down menu appears... click on "AutoBalance" then save the photo. This works well in about 90% of my photos. In this case it slightly adjusted the Brightness and Contrast.
The "Balance" button will allow you to do all the adjustments manually. Have a play around with the manual controls and you will be hooked on getting the very best out of your photo's.

Thanks Mike! I use a Nikon D90. I have Photoshop CS3, but there are people who are a lot more proficient than I am using the regular version of Photoshop and getting awesome results. I just don't have enough hours in the day to practice and use it. I know I am not even beginning to touch all the crazy things that can be done w/ Photoshop. I wish! I did shoot it in RAW+JPEG Fine. So I always shoot a RAW version and JPEG version only because my Photoshop is buggy. The D90 didn't exist when it was released so it doesn't always read the files right. Sometimes using Camera Raw I'll get a message saying that the file couldn't be opened because it's the wrong kind of file. I was told to download the newer version of Camera Raw but it still does it every so many files. So just to be safe, I shoot both. This was a Raw conversion. I was just using my kit lens, so the shutter speed was a little slow, but overall it turned out okay. Thanks again! I'm glad you like it!

Yes this is the New Tinkerbelle float! :love: It unfortunately replaced the Blue Fairy. I wish they had kept both. Honestly, I haven't seen the parade in years, so I don't know if there are any other new floats. There was a Peter Pan Float w/ Capt. Hook which I didn't recall, but it may have been in it and I'm just having a senior moment, :eek: or it's just been that many years since I've seen it and it was added in a while ago. Sorry! I have pictures of every float which I'll probably end up posting sooner or later if there's something you want to see let me know and I'll be glad to post it...

Finally trying to get back in the groove after our trip. I carried a pedometer each day and totaled the miles after 6 days in the parks.......we walked right at 75 miles!:scared1: The longest day was 16 miles.

Anyway, here's one while I get all 3000 shots uploaded to my site. This is perhaps one of my new favorite areas in DL. The detail they put into it is quite impressive and I found myself hanging out in Pixie Hollow quite a bit at night.

I got my "Microsoft Photo Editor" with Microsoft Office. If you have Microsoft Office it may already be on your computer.
But I believe it is a free program that you can download. I did a quick Google search and found a few sites offering it.
But I also found a few sites selling it! Very confusing.

To everyone who hasn't been on (or doesn't remember) Storybook Land, make it a priority on your next visit. Lines can be really short after 11:00pm and the ride takes on a different appearance at night.

IMO, Storybook Land is one of the hidden gems of Disneyland. If I were to pick one attraction that best describes the differences between Disneyland and the MK, I would pick Storybook Land because WDW has nothing like it.

Thanks Mike. Yeah, sort of like that. I was actually finishing up shooting over around Paradise Pier and Ariel's then coming through the Pacific Wharf area when I noticed a great opportunity to get some fireworks shots with Grizzly Mountain in the foreground. So, I parked it there for a few minutes snapping away. :)

My consolation is that in 12 days I am leaving for a 10 day trip to WDW. :cool1: Danny I can believe that you could be missing it already with all of the shots you took. I have been peeking at them on smugmug and have not made it all the way through them. Very nice.

Yeah, I've seen you mention your upcoming trip to WDW......although I'm jealous, hope you have a great trip.
