Funny story behind this pick, my bf and I live in the dessert so we dont get that much rain, nor do we have many trees. My bf is a photographer and he loves to take picks of rainy days and nature. So on his firt trip to DLR it rained in the morning and in the afternoon the clouds were lingering. He stopped in the middle of the walk to point his camera up and take this pick. Several people behind us stopped and started pointing at the sky. Whats up there? one of them asked after a few minutes the only response we had was....clouds?

Nice catch! It makes me wonder sometimes if that kind of stuff is planned. Part of me wants to say YES!!!! but another part wants to call it a fluke...then I remember that it's Disney and nothing Disney ever seems to be a fluke.

That's a great, fresh perspective of a familiar, often-photographed site!!! It is simple, yet has a lot of depth and personality to it!! Seeing it in close-up like that really makes me appreciate and notice the childlike way (mouselike way) in which Mickey is looking up at Walt. His eyes are full of wonder and joy - just like the guests who visit DLR! I LOVE that! Great job AS USUAL, Danny!!!!:thumbsup2

It's great how we can see a familiar photographed location or subject from just a slightly different angle or vantage point and suddenly notice things we hadn't noticed before. Mickey's eyes look so expressive in the Partners statue in that photo, and as many times as I have seen Partners in my life, I don't think I ever realized what Mickey's eyes were like.

Do you have a Photobucket account (or Shutterfly, Webshots, Flick'r, etc.)? If you can load pictures to one of those image-hosting sites, then you would look for the IMG code underneath the photo, copy and paste the entire IMG code (don't omit anything) right here in your post! It's really easy! It used to be that you had to use the Insert Image link (the little yellow icon with the mountain), but I have not had to use that to post a picture in ages, so you can most likely bypass that.

Hmmmm.....I am not familiar with Shutterfly layout, as I have all my stuff on Photobucket so far. Somewhere on Shutterfly, there has to be an IMG code around or near each photo, because I know other posters here on DIS have Shutterfly accounts and post pictures. Photobucket actually has 4 codes for each picture, and the IMG code is the last one listed. Do you see anything resembling codes of any kind when you open up your Shutterfly photos?
Oh well, if you can't get Shutterfly to cooperate, you can always open up a Photobucket account and use their codes!!

When I 'right-click' on my photos in Shutterfly, a toolbar with the option of Properties comes up. When I clicked on 'properties', there was the IMG code!

Something new for me to keep my eyes peeled for next time I am in DLR - those and the bathroom signs!!!:rotfl2: I loved the Oogie Boogie one when I saw it in DL, but I have to say, he looks better from afar than up close!! I Didn't see that one.. I cant wait to go back either! We are planning another trip for July or Aug! Getting AP's for the First time!!!

Boy, I sure wish it was that easy. Airfare for 5 is still outrageous!
Still no plans for an upcoming trip any time soon, though. :sad1:
:scared: We totally understand the outrageous price of airline tickets for a family of five. I have planned our very first DLR trip for this June. We are driving from Texas (we live near Denton) to Anaheim (via Grand Canyon and then San Diego on the way back). Our own little "Vacation" roadtrip. :rotfl:
I love all the DLR photos. I can't wait to see it all in person. :thumbsup2 Keep 'em coming.

That's fantastic, neighbor! Whenever our next trip to DL happens, it very well may be of the driving variety as well. Although, I am familiar with that drive and it's a bear to be sure. Anyway, pass along a 'howdy' from me to Walt and Mickey! ;)

I see we had the same idea, Deletedpenguin!! In your signature you have thumbnails of all the bronze statues that surround Partners, which you shot in black and white (they look very cool:thumbsup2 ). I also did those in black and white this past December (see my Trip Report - the link is in my signature below). They really seem to be just begging for black and white photography, so I have a hunch many other folks have had the same idea!!! If not, they will now!!!:goodvibes

Yes, I thought your signature looked different from the last time I had seen it! But those little bronze statues around Partners and throughout DLR really look great in black and white - I almost think I like them better in B&W than in color. Some things do photograph with more depth and richness in B&W than in color, but other things look so vibrant and alive in color, as we see here every day on this thread, and as shown in your awesome nighttime shot of the DCA Paradise Pier area!:goodvibes That's a great picture, and the colors are instrumental!!

After researching DLR for our upcoming trip, I can answer that. No more sun on the ferris wheel. It will be a Mickey face. I feel kind of sad, we will never see the sun version. To me, it fits with the CA theme.
Here's the scale model for the new look Paradise Pier, complete with Mickey replacing the Sun Wheel:

Yes it was during the day. The lagoon is empty because they are working on the new World of Color show that will be in the lagoon. I assume that it will be like Fantasmic in that they will spray water in the air and then project images on to it.

Hey guys.
i know it's been a long time since I've posted up here, but I wanted to ask you guys a question.
I don't know how many of you guys listen to the DIS Unplugged Podcast, but I am one of the new Disneyland Correspondents for the show. That means I'm going to be recording some pieces and maybe even doing some blog work for the podcast pages of this website.
I'm unofficially throwing this out there (gauging response before throwing the idea at my superiors), but would you guys be interested in volunteering photos for a Disneyland Blog or of featured attractions that we would be covering for the listeners? You guys have so many great images, and while I could probably play with this and get some good ones on my own, I know your photos really stimulate getting folks excited about going to DL.
Like I said, it's just a thought that I am throwing this out there. No plans, nothing definite. What do you think?

If you are using Photobucket to upload your photos to, they offer editing and resizing options that work well.
Some websites don't let people put individual photos to other web sites. Could that be the problem? Webshots used to be like that and that's why I started uploading to Photobucket.com - no restrictions. Now Webshots allows you to post photos from their site. Go figure!
Hope you figure it all out!:)

That's pretty. Where's that at?
Its in the Redwood Creek trail area (kids play/run around area by Grizzly River Rapids.
OK, I should not look at these pictures before having my coffee. I actually thought for a few seconds, "Its a nice picture, but why is NostalgicDad posting a picture of a train station?":rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: I guess I never looked at it from that angle.

Okay, I admit it...I'm addicted to the picture threads...... The first step is admitting I have a problem.... :rotfl2:
It took 2 days, but I finally got done looking at the absolutely fabulous pics on this thread!! I was truly amazed at the details & beauty of them. There are a lot of very good photographers here. Thank you so much for sharing!!
I'm adding a picture I was thrilled to finally get on our spring break trip last March. I had never had the opportunity to get a clear shot of the castle, but I was able to snap this while waiting at the rope drop. It would have been perfect (at least in my eyes) if the guy hadn't been cleaning.... But I'll take it!!

By the way, I love your DD's names! So creative!
Well I can't take credit for all the names..... Nicholas, Tyler & Derek are my biological children. Anthony came to us at 13mths in foster care & we adopted him...but the name stayed. Adaleah came to us at 2mths in foster care & her adoption just finalized in January. We definately liked her name & so it stuck. The twins we took right from the NICU after their birth. They did have different names but we knew right away we were keeping them, so we did rename them. I didn't mind Faith as a name, so we kept it as a middle name for Shyann but Michayla's name was Justice & everybody assumed it was a boy. (her birth name was Justice Muriel....ugh how cruel). The twins adoptions should finalize in March.
So after the adoptions we'll have Adaleah Grace, Shyann Faith & Michayla Hope.
But thank you so much for even noticing the names!! :)

That's in the Innovations building or whatever it's called, in Tomorrowland. I'm not sure if that's still there or not. The picture is a few years old.

That's awesome, Hunterjrt!!! What a fabulous picture. The close-ups always seem to capture expression and emotion that may not translate well otherwise - and this applies to both human and inanimate subjects!! I think you are definitely 'one to watch' here on all the different DISboards photo threads. I know I am now looking forward to your pictures every day (hopefully!).

Thanks Sherry. This was a great shot. We were on the discover the magic tour in '06 for the 50th. Mary was signing my DD autograph book by the carousel. I have a few from that trip. We are going back March 16-21, with a great new camera. I am hoping to get more to put up.

Hunterjrt, another great one! One of the things I love about any of the photo threads or Trip Report threads - not just this photo thread - is that we get to see things from each person's perspective, through their eyes. We see the details and sites that one person notices which another person may overlook, and realize that there is unexpected beauty and detail in a lot of things we would never pay much attention to.
It reminds me a scene in the movie "American Beauty," where the kid with the camera runs around filming everything, and he is staring at footage he took of a plastic bag floating in the wind, talking to his girlfriend about how there is so much beauty to be found, but most people don't see it!
Anyway, it is just great that all of you guys on this thread are showing us new things to look for and new ways to look at them!!
