We would love some help in choosing our shore excursions. We have a very diverse group (age wise), and this will be our first and may be only cruise, I want it to be as special as possible. I also want the children to learn about other cultures. any suggestions you have will be helpful. Thanks.

We will also be on Magic June 1st!!!!! Just returned today from a 4 night Wonder cruise and a short stay at the Grand Floridian. We had a blast on the 4 night. The seas were VERY ROUGH, our boat was rockin!! I think I saw that the winds were of gale force on our 1st night. Just don't forget the Bonine, we were only walking a little crooked until we adjusted. The weather was beautiful at Castaway Cay and we can't wait to go back. Will be myself, DH, DS 12, DD 9, DD 4 1/2. I am ready to start researching out the differences in the 4 and 7 night to make sure we don't miss anything. We also will be counting the days!!

hey jcfreefall and others,
re: excursions---- last time we did the butterfly farm on
st marteen. it was fine and my kids enjoyed it. i would think it would be a good option for a wide diversity of ages. we have also
visited one here in ga. and my kids liked it better...newer,less intense instructers ect. we went back to the ship for lunch and then our kids wanted to go back to the clubs for some activities
listed and so we adults WENT SHOPPING AND HAD ADULT FUN! this time we're either going to do the see&sea excursion or we're going to take a taxi over to marigot in the a.m. and shop phillipsburg in the afternoon.
in st thomas we opted for the boat ride over to st john and we will definitley do this again. our pictures of st john is what caused my mom (80) to want to go on the cruise. she says she wants to see water that blue and the surrounding natural areas. i'm investigating doing it on our own this time or we may just stay with the dcl excursion. the time is too short on the beach but i don't know if my mom would enjoy a lot more than what they offer.

for disneylover4ever(??)
where are you from in marietta??? on both of our other cruises we met fellow mariettans. we're in the east cobb/merchants walk area. are you nearby or on the other side? last time i met folks that have a child in school with my ds and dd right here on this board before we went. it was great....i am a manager at the town center disney store so prehaps we've already met. let me know.

sorry i get so long winded...just excited i guess

joyceharris,
Thanks for the reply. I sat down with my nephews this weekend and discussed our options. From everything I have been reading on this forum, I believe we will go to Coral World. The kids are also wanting to go on the Atlantis Submarine. Have you any info on this excursion? We are somewhat restricted on some of our choices because my youngest DN is 6. The boys all BOOOO'd at the idea of a butterfly farm. I guess that's boys for you. The youngest has decided he wants to go parasailing. I think his mother about fainted at the thought of this. I have seen alot of references to a Catamaran excursion. There is one at both St. Martin and St. Thomas/St. John. Any info on one or the other?
You sound as if you prefer the shopping on St. Thomas/St. John, any reason?
Sorry for all the questions but not have been before, the cost of the excursions, and the limited time, I want to make the best choice I can.
Thanks

There are 2 threads for this June 1st roll call.

Can the moderator combine them so we can all be on one???

The Sauunders' clan won't be the only Jacksonville cruisers. Me and my wife will also be on-board. The children (one dog, one cat) will be babysitted at home by their grandparents.

We are bringing 31 people with our group for the June 1st cruise, so the boat will definitely not be going empty! My parents will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary May 28th, and then all of us will cruise after that for the week!

Most of us are first tme cruisers, I know it will be the first Disney cruise for all of us.

We have a mixture of young ones, teens/college, and newlyweds among our group, so it will be interesting to see all of the things each group finds to do.

We also wondered if there are recommended snorkel cruises that all of us could go on, as well as which of the golf courses may be best to play. Thanks, and will look for you folks there as well!

Yeah!!!

Now if anyone at work inquires about the possiblity of changing my vacation dates, I can reply that are you willing pay for the 100% cancellation penalities.

My immediate supervisor would never suggest such a thing, but there are certain people that think their project is the most important thing in the company and needs to be done now.

Acquired a few books along with sorting through my backlog of to-read magazines, for reading material on the cruise.

Been looking through the Navigators and Menus on various internet sites.
