Well, we will be leaving On May 4th to stay at the OKW. A resort we have never visited. I am looking forward to it cause everyone on this board seems to like it!! My question is that I did not request a specific area or building, what does everyone think. Should I leave it to chance when I get there, or should I call and ask if I can pick an area. If so, what Area does everyone like?? We will be traveling with no kids, just 4 adults staying in the 1 bedroom suite. Thanks for any ideas

We've stayed every year since '93. I never resuest an area or a view. We always get the GV, so I don't even request a floor. We have never stayed in the same unit or the same area twice. We have been VERY happy with every location. We always have a car, so being close to HH is never an issue and I think I like the Turtle Pond area best. But not enough to make a location request.
The only unit I wasn't completely thrilled with was building 16, I am almost certain it was 16. It was an original building right next to the new construction when they were building the additional units a few years ago. My only problem with this unit was that it was kind of close to the main road and when you were on the balcony, the noise was noticable, we didn't ask to move, it wasn't that big of a deal, but that is the only area that I would prefer not to get.

I've been one of the unlucky ones ....everytime I request a area to be in or near I never end up anywhere near it....But I've always been happy with my room...

I assume that 2 of the adults will be sleeping in the living room. I would request building 30 or higher because there is an extra door into the bathroom through the laundry room. Otherwise, the people in the living room will have to enter the master bedroom to get to the bathroom.
Will you have a car? If so, distance to the bus stop or HH willn't be a factor. View preference? The views are golf course, water or woods. Floor preference? Only buildings 62, 63 & 64 have elevators. There aren't many 1 bedrooms on the third floor but I stayed in a 2 bedroom on a third floor and it's a long way up with luggage. On the other hand, you have a better view and no one above you. While you are there, take a look around at the different areas so that you will have a better idea of what you want next time.

From the map, thank you, I see it was building 15 that I was in that time.

We took our chances for quite a few trips and were pleased with all the rooms. We did, however, decide we liked South Point best, so now we request that general area. If you make a request... Leave it general. The more specific you are, the less likely you are to get your request. We usually say no smoking in South point area with a preference for buildings 53, 54, 55, or 56. We have always gotten our request.

Thanks for the information and the Map. I also like the south point area according to the map. Does anyone know if there are certain buildings that have the 1 bedroom suites, or do all buildings have these. Well, since we have a car, maybe we will just take our chances and see what they give us.

All the buildings have 1 bedrooms, most are on the 1st and 2nd floor. Doc did a great survey on this:
