I was very saddened by Tim Russert's passing. I watched his funeral on MSNBC and thought it was a wonderful celebration of his life. Then I heard about the rainbow that appeared over Washington as the memorial service was letting out of The Kennedy Center and it just really touched me, especially since they were playing an acoustic version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow at the end of the service. I have never seen a big end to end rainbow like this either, it's really something. :goodvibes

Here is a YouTube clip about the rainbow...they say it was a double rainbow. I've never even heard of one of those.

The uke solo of Somewhere Over the Rainbow being played during his memorial service is by the late Isreal Kamakammo'ole a fantastic Hawaiian ukelele player. He has some other recordings on Youtube- a beautiful tribute song to a wonderful man.

Bruddah Iz was awesome. I have actually, literally, cried when listening to that song before.

Yes, in fact one,of the most vibrant double rainbows I ever saw was in the parking lot of the Poly hotel quite a few years ago. I have also seen them since.
This is very beautiful and touching!
Last January I saw an incredible double rainbow while standing in the Magic Kingdom. It had just stopped raining, we emerged from Uptown Jewelers and saw the most amazing rainbow behind the train station. It was beautiful!

It's really cool they played Isreal Kamakammo at the service.
Tim was a well balanced reporter, He grilled both sides equally. He was the perfect example of what a reported shoud be. There are not very meany real
unbiased reporters alive anymore. Tim did everything with grace and with a smile. He loved his work and it showed. Time will be missed and he would have loved to see how it all turns out in November. I remmeber hime hold up a dry erase board with Florida ,Florida, Florida, that's a classic.

This hit me pretty hard, which I thought was crazy. Tim reminded me of my dad who I lost 6 years ago. When I heard about the rainbow, I broke down. When my dad passed away, I was rushing home from a cruise and got the news that I was too late. Shortly after this, I saw the most unusual rainbow. My husband was still on the cruise and reported that he saw the same thing on the cruise. Again the next morning I saw one too. I came home from St. Thomas and every time we visit St. Thomas since, we always see a rainbow. I definitely believe in signs like this.
