Do any of you purchase insurance for your DVC trips? I just got off the phone with the insurance company and they said they could not cover the Dining Plan because it is not pre-paid, nor could they cover any tickets that are purchased upon check-in. I'm just concerned about trip interruption for a family emergency or illness. I'm going through this right now with a non-DVC trip. What happens if you pay for Disney Disney and your tickets when you check-in, but your trip is interrupted for one of those reasons? I know without the no expiration add-on, you will lose your tickets, but what about the Dining Plan? How can you insure that? Also, what happens to your remaining points? Do they go into a holding account? That is the only thing the insurance company wanted to cover, but I don't understand because I didn't think you could actually lose points that you have not used. I hope I'm making sense! Can anyone help?

For our DVC ressies, we've taken cancellation insurance out on our points on our rooms, our airfare - but not for our DP or park passes. You cannot insure park passes or DP.

But if your trip is interrupted by an emergency, don't the points you haven't used go back to you but are in a holding account? Say you are staying 5 nights at 12 points a night, but after the second night, you must cancel the rest of your trip. Won't the 3 remaining nights (3 x 12 = 36 points) be given back to you but remain in holding?
