View Full Version : Empire State Club at the HNY
This (http://www.dlrpmagic.com/today/2008/06/16/ready-to-join-the-empire-state-club/) article from dlrpmagic shows the official confirmation of Empire State Club perks.
• Personalised welcome area exclusive for Empire State Club
• Continental Buffet Breakfast in a private lounge with Disney Character(s)
• Exclusive in-room services with dedicated staff
• VIP FASTPASS for all guests :woohoo:
• Relaxation area with free soft drinks
• Possibility to book interconnecting rooms (upon request and subject to availability)
I've checked the prices on the new winter 08 e-brochure and it costs £20-£40 per person per night more than a standard room, depending on the price band. BUT it doesn't automatically mean a lake view room - just like the standard rooms, these cost a further £20-£50 per room per night - again depending on the price band.

Sounds exactly like a HNY CC, huh?
When I went to book CC I assumed I'd get a park view room, but oh no! That was LOADS more. Hence I didn't go for it this time.
But depending what time of year you go it does seem like an awesome deal!!
Shame I didn't know about it when I booked...

I think we will book this for next year:thumbsup2 will be nice to stay at the HNY again:)
With this pricing structure, the HNY offers a nice variety of options. You could upgrade to a lake view room, or choose to spend a bit more and go for the EC perks instead - which is probably worth it for the VIP FPs alone! Or go a bit mad and pay for both!! And that would still cost less than a standard room at the DLH! I like it!!!!! :teeth:

I think we might book for the summer, as in January I think the location is important to warm up and we won't need VIP passes. DBF prefers the HNY so this is going to be great.:thumbsup2

How does VIP Fastpass differ to the bog-standard one?
I've used neither before!

Just means on the fastpass rides you can go in the fatpass line whenever you want. Don;t have to get tickets or anything. But only fastpass rides I think....

I phoned them up this morning and it would cost us £340 (standard) or £445 (lakeside) to upgrade. So, erm, I think we'll just be sticking to our 'basic' booking for now. I was actually after the fastpass but don't think it's enough to justify spending another £340 on it lol (esp as DH won't go on those rides and DS is too young and DD will only go on a couple of them).
VIP fastpass is unlimited.

Sorry if I'm being nosey, but that seems an awful lot. I just checked the brochure, and the difference between the standard standard room package and the ESC standard room package is about £70 per adult. :confused3 Maybe I'm reading it wrong.

Yes, just on the fastpass rides.

Im not going to upgrade lol......
I've just been checking the wording in the brochure and I'm beginning to wonder if the VIP Fastpass isn't still just for suites only, even in the ESC.
New: Empire State Club & Suites. Choose a room on the upper floors with a privileged and dedicated service. Like exclusive access to the private lounge for your breakfast with a visit from a Disney Character and free soft drinks served all day. If you choose to book a Suite, you will benefit from a VIP FASTPASS
So please check before upgrading

Hmm I don't know:confused3 . The girl gave me the new 'total' cost (mine includes half-board vouchers) and the difference in price to my original total cost is £340. So I'm assuming that's the upgrade cost??
Edited to say::: Ok, it all makes a bit more sense now. Our original total was for '3 for 2 nights' offer. That offer doesn't apply to ESC rooms, hence the big jump in price. Grrrrrr. lol.
Having read this thread, I upgraded this morning as it will be closest I'll ever get to CC! The price difference in February came to €284 (4 nights and 4 days, no free nights, garden view). I asked both the operators if VIP fastpass applies to standard Empire State rooms and they assured me it does :thumbsup2

I'm guessign teh upgrade is £70 a night then. That's quite a lot!!
That 284 was in Euro, so the Sterling should be a bit less, depending on what conversion rate they're using.

Okay, that makes sense. I should have guessed it wasn't eligible for the special offers

So I made the switch today to a Empire State Club Standard room. Raised the rate of my 5 day stay by $350 if I had upgraded to lake view it would have been $750 more than my original booking so couldn't quite justify that one today.
So, which rides are on fastpass?
In the Florida parks, the fast passes "run out" at a certain point and they shut down the Fastpass line. Does that happen in Paris too? Does that mean that my perk (unlimited fastpass) is only available when Fastpass lines are running? Or are the lines always running? (I would assume so because of Disneyland Hotel CC)
I'm also hoping to not have to battle any breakfast crowds, I love the idea that a character or two might be present.
Somebody's gotta come back and report on their experience with ESC!
Fastpass is available for
Big Thunder Mountain
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril
Peter Pan's Flight
Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast
Star Tours
Space Mountain
in the Disneyland Park, and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror in the Studios.
Not sure what happens if the FPs run out, but I presume you will be able to carry on using your VIP one somehow.
There are a few photos of the ESC in this DLRPmagic article here (http://www.dlrpmagic.com/today/2008/07/06/inside-the-empire-state-club/) :)

We were given a VIP FP last yr as a gift due to a problem with our booking and we could only use it from 11.00 until (I think) 2 hrs before closing
