We are wondering if we bring our own snorkeling equipment if we still need to pay to snorkel at Castaway Cay? Do they provide a life vest? Thanks. We leave in 2 weeks for a 4 day cruise starting April 21, 2002. :earsgirl:
IF you have your own snorkeling gear, you do not have to pay for the snorkeling. They will provide you with a manditory life vest at no charge. Have a great time!!!

We brought our own snorkeling equipment (which is lot better than what DCL supplies) along with us on the 3/23 Magic cruise. As a prior post stated, therefore no payment needed to use it to snorkel at Castaway. Yes, one does have to still wear those silly vests, but that's a minor annoyance.
Also, understand that if your are an experienced certified diver (as we are) or an experienced snorkeler, the "snorkeling" at Castaway leaves quite a bit to be desired. There is no reef at Castaway, so the fish life is extremely limited and generic. DCL has thrown a bunch of stuff on the bottom (fake cannons, etc.) so there is something for the "first timers" to look at, but don't expect to be impressed if you've dived or snorkeled a lot.
