Well it is official- we are going to WDW this November!! Our flights are now booked! I had checked with Air Canada they wanted 855.00 per person- I don't think so.... So I decided to look into driving to Minneapolis and then flying from there. Well it looks like that decision paid off! I was able to book us 3 return tickets on Delta for 268.47 each Canadian!! So it will only cost us 805.41 instead of 2565.00 that air canada wanted!! That is a difference of 1759.59, of course I will need to add 100.00 for gas plus 1 nights hotel and 3 meals per person I am figuring under 400.00 for these expenses-yipee were going to Disney!

That's fantastic news grover!:bounce:
It's getting to the point that we are being forced to fly out of the US as the flight costs from Canada are RIDICULOUS!
We are simply being taxed to death here and yes we'll just shuffle off to the US for that much of a savings! Congratulations on getting that fare! Now.....to the planning! LOL;)

Try redeeming aeroplan points. We are having to fly into Tampa, for our trip this November.
This includes 2 adults and 3 kids. We redeemed our points 3 weeks ago.

We lucked out with Air Canada for our trip in two weeks with a seat sale posted in Janaury. I jumped on the tickets, glad I did, they went up in price FAST! CONGRATS! Have a great trip! Sandra

That's GREAT grover! I agree a lot more Canadians are going to be looking into flying from the US because costs are so ridiculous here, especially if they live near Detroit or Buffalo. I know I will definitely be looking at that for future flights. The difference in the cost of your tickets was so amazing I can't help but wonder how are people going to be able to afford to fly anymore???? I wouldn't be surprised if there is a whole segment of the population who will have longer stretches between trips or will be cut out of the travel industry entirely.

Great price you got, grover!Ihave been telling DH the same thing. We only live a little over an hour away from Buffalo so it wouldnt be a huge hassle to fly out of there. My sister is travel agent and regularly recommends people do this and fly Southwest.Unfortunaely I havent been able to convince DH to fly so we will be driving next year but at least we will be able to stay at least three extra days with what we will save by not flying.

Yes we are very fortunate to have found such great prices for air, it helps that we are not that far from Minneapolis, I have been thru Minneapolis before but have never had time to stop. We are going to work in some time at the Mall of America- I am very excited about this as I was born to shop-My Mom will be SO jealous!! I have also found a few hotel that offer park and fly so we will also save alot on our parking costs!
Just love to find a deal!

Hi all we live in Kingston and fly out of Syracuse we got 156.00 Canadian round trip on Northwest. They have great seat sales! This one was 98.00 U.S. round trip to MCO! We jumped on it. Sorry but the lowest Air Canada had from Ottawa was 333.00. No Way.
Even with the shuttle from Kingston to Syracuse the total was only 650.00 for the three of us in total. Whoopee!
Can't wait to go.

We live in Windsor and ever since I was a child, we have flown out of Detroit. I just booked my tickets for our yearly July trip to Disney World for $136.00 roundtrip pp out of Detroit through Northwest. This is a great deal! We never fly out of Canada because the prices are outrageous and not many flights leave Windsor, so we would be forced to drive to Toronto. We enjoy flying out of Detroit and don't feel any guilt whatsoever since our air transportation in Canada needs a huge overhaul - the taxes and fees for my friend's flight to Vancouver are almost as much as our whole roundtrip ticket to Orlando out of Detroit! Go figure!

To those of you who fly Northwest Airlines.......is this airlines the same type of system as Southwest is? I mean the same type of check in and only snacks etc.? I'd like some feedback as to what their service is like as we're considering flying from Buffalo airport next year and was wondering what other airline choices we have flying from Buffalo.:)
Thanks for any tips in advance!:sunny:

Hi Cindy! We fly out of Buffalo. I don't have any information about Northwest but I do know that Southwest has a set schedule for flights(kind of like the bus) :D They had the only non-stop flight to Orlando (MCO) Check out the Buffalo airports website they list all the air carriers.

Can give you more info after. Flight is direct and only 2.5 hours. Have even checked on the weekend and there are still tickets available. Thus I plan on not rushing. Also note that Buffalo Airport Hotels have Park & Fly rates (upto 14 days). I am taking advantage of that. Customs also much simpler as is flying out of a quiet airport.....

Hi melindaandrob....yes I've been checking out Southwest's website and it looks interesting (and really great prices right now) but I was curious as to what Northwest is all about too.....maybe the same concept as SW? Gosh I hope there are "special deals" this time next year as we want to go down for March 22 and return April 19 or the week before....haven't decided yet.
emmalgin I'm looking forward to hearing your opinion on SW and their service....have a great time...you must be really getting excited? LOL;)
