My girlfriend just booked us a suite at the ASMusic. We supposedly got a good deal at $215 a night. That is actually less that I would have paid at the Pop because I wanted a perferred room location and a fridge anyway and the suite has both.
I hope to not feel out of the loop with the WISHers because last year I bumped into a WISHer every time I turned around. I will have a car so getting to the Pop meet will be no issue.
Where are you staying?

I'm still undecided... It will depend on the budget!

DF and I would like to stay at the Poly for the weekend and then I'm thinking we'll switch to BC. I haven't booked anything yet - My TA said that the 2009 rates aren't out yet so if I want to make a reservation I'll have to pay 2008 peak rates and then everything will be adjusted once the 2009 rates are announced. Are there any discounts or codes available for this weekend?
Out of curiosity, when is everyone arriving? I haven't travelled during the winter before so I'm not sure if I should add in an extra day for the possibility of travel delays - Right now, I'm thinking of arriving on Thursday.

Due to airline prices we are going fron the 8th to the 15th. I guess that severe weather could make it an issue since I am cutting it kind of tight on the arrival. Our plane is supposed to land in Orlando at 11:30 am so it really would have to be pretty severe weather. Arriving on Thursday would ease the mind a little.

Arriving early Thursday evening, staying at BCV. Have to leave Sunday morning cause it is my youngest's birthday on Monday and I want to be back home. (We're driving.) I know the meet is usually on Friday evening, but is there anything planned for Thursday night? :confused3

We are staying in a regular room at POP. Not sure if we are coming in on Thursday night or Friday morning. We will stay until Monday then drive back home.
Getting closer!

As of now, I am trying to get one of my best friends to come with me for support. We will be staying at POP.
In March, if DW is ready for the Princess 5k, we are looking at making it a vacation week as that day will be her birthday and a few days later will be mine. (Yep! She is older than me.)

Currently booked at PO-FQ, but if an AP rate comes up I'll switch to something else. (and maybe even if it doesn't--$200/night at a moderate is ridiculous!)

We're staying at the Contemporary. We're flying in Fri morning and leaving Mon night. Since we live in New England, we'll have to watch the weather and try to get out earlier if there's a storm that could affect our departure from Boston.
This is my first marathon. I know that a previous poster mentioned a WISH meet of some sorts. Anyone have more details?

We are flying down Thursday morning and staying at CSR. We fly out Sunday afternoon to the Bahamas and stay there till Thursday. Since MIL offered to come babysit we figured we should take advantage and make this a good one! LOL!

If my memory serves me correctly, there is a meet before and after each race in the W section. There has also been one the night before the Half (Friday) at the Pop Century food court. They are good at hosting a large (...and some may say rowdie:thumbsup2 ) crowd.
There has also been mention is a Sunday night meet this year at an illuminations dinner and there is always the party at Pleasure Island. It is the awards ceremony.
Lastly, there has been Monday morning breakfast meet at the boardwalk. I think that's been it.

DW is doing the 1/2 for Team ASK. I'm so proud of her!!!!! We're fund raising together to get her a race number and when we meet our goal, we will be staying at the Contemporary. Team ASK has their dinner on Friday night so I'm glad to hear that there will be some other meets. Wouldn't want anyone to do without the privilege of meeting me:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Thanks so much for the info. Large, rowdy crowds sound fun to me! :rotfl: I'm looking forward to meeting many WISHers!

For this past marathon, we stayed just offsite at the Caribe Royale Resort. I had intended to stay at a Disney property, but I waited too late and the resorts I was willing to pay the non-discounted rates for were filled up. We found a great deal at Caribe Royale and we were very impressed.
Caribe Royale is just down the road from Epcot and it was pretty hassle free getting there Sunday morning. It was actually pretty nice to have a car there so we could make last minute choices of what to wear, eat, drink, leave behind, etc. The resort has a great pool & fitness center, it reminded me a lot of the Swan, except everything was closer together.
I haven't booked anything yet for this year, but will consider Caribe Royale again. They don't seem to have their discounts announced that far out yet though so I haven't booked anything yet. It wouldn't be my choice for a park commando style trip, but for marathon weekend it was perfect.

Looks like me and my support crew (mom & aunt) will be staying at sports. This will be some other friends first disney race and we thought the sports theme would be appropriate. Since I am a huge football fan, the touchdown buildings of course were requested. 3 rooms total.

I'll be staying Friday through Monday but not sure where yet. Thinking of AKL, SSR or PORS. I usually wait for the fall rates to come out & book with a AAA discount. Then I check back when the FLres & AP rates come out & modify if it's a better price. :goodvibes

I'll be staying at All Star Music Thursday-Sunday and BCV Sunday-Wednesday. So excited! I'm also waiting for 2009 rates to come out so I can call back about AAA rates for Music. Right now the deposit is based on $148/night:eek: That's more for a Value than I'm paying to stay at BCV (with rented points).
