36 days and counting!!! (just noted my ticker says 1mo 1wk 1day) Just found out that my best friend from HS will be arriving our last day there and is going to meet up with us in Epcot. We're 500 miles apart now so getting together is hard, just never thought I would have to go to Disney to see her. Started "packing" already, have the tents cleaned, bought 1 new air mattress so far, and started buying the bowls for oatmeal every morning, and putting kids outfits together, at least the ones I know they won't wear here again.
I'll list some dates of get togethers in a couple of weeks, by then plans will be set, I know ours will.

I am so torn in loop suggestions. I know 2000 is "slightly" larger sites and we need that, but 1500 is close to so much more. We liked being by ourselves in Dec in 2000, but did we miss too much being "removed"? I might just have to annoy the troops and ask on a separate thread.

I think the 26th works for us. We arrive on the 19th for two weeks. We only have one night of dinner plans the rest of the time is riding around on the golf cart :goodvibes .

Do any of the adults here dress up for Halloween at Disney? My kids asked me if I'm going to dress up for the MNSSHP when we go and I honestly hadn't thought about it.

I wasn't really going to this year but...our moms of multiples convention is coming up and we are doing a sock hop so I will have a poodle skirt. Just might dress up or go as Lady Marion again. My DH will probably be a pirate again. People go all out for the MNSSHP and then there are those who don't dress up. Whatever way you are comfortable.

We were there MNSSHP Oct 30, 2005 and there was a couple dressed up as Beauty and the Beast. They looked like they just walked off Broadway it was amazing. Saw several people stop them and ask for a picture with them.

I got Haloween shirts - Disney of course. I will be Sally and DH will be mean Mickey. Disney store had them. In fact the manager of the Disney store called me today and said that they were starting a big sale Thur. lots of markdowns and a bounceback coupon.

Should I plan on lots of kids = lots of treats?? Or do most kids go to the parks and not stay at FW?? It sounds like there is alot to do on Halloween right at the Fort. Welcome TwingleMum! This is our first Halloween at the Fort, but from what everyone has said...there are LOTS of trick or treaters at the Fort. I plan on taking my young kids early and then back to our site to hand out candy. We'll probably take a bowl on the cart with us too.

There are lots of scheduled activities at the Fort on a regular basis (usually during the day), so I can only imagine that there will be lots of Halloween fun to enjoy.

I'll arrive on the 18th and will be there until early on the 28th. I think it would be great to meet as many of you as I can. I know I don't post much (kind of a quiet person), but I've been lurking every day for a couple of years now and think you guys are a riot. The 26th would be great for a gathering by my schedule (or any day before the 28th). My reservation is split with 7 nights preferred and then 3 nights premium - thats the only way I could get all the nights I wanted - Saturday the 25th was a real pain to get! Look for my PUP, GC (Disney rental) and DIS Sign and feel free to stop by - I'll be looking for any of you I can spot too.

I've often wondered if there was cache hidden at FW...and if so how often it's picked up by Disney CM's. Maybe somewhere off the old swamp trail? I'll have to take a look on the website...


We have an early morning ressie at Ohana and then we are debating going to MNSSHP that evening....but we are open all day anytime 10-4. We'll be back at the fort during those times. Seabee (along with family and friends) plan to visit too, so it'll be a fun afternoon!

For all of you comeing down in the next couple of weeks, the parks seem a lot more crowded thatn normal..Not "packed" by any means but, more people than the last couple of years at this time. As an example, yesterday we went to Hollywood studios at around 11:30 am to et Toy Story Fast Passes,,,,They were already sold out. Then we went right over to EPCOT to do the same thing for Soarin'..Our return time was 7:30-8:30 PM. I only point this out because, If you want fast passes for these rides you will need to get there really early. After 11:00pm Extra Magik at the Studios, Toy Story was still an 80 Min Wait. The ret of the rides aren't so bad but, we didn't go to the Mountains etc. Still way better than Summer Crowds...I posted this on this thread because some might not check the others..

Not sure if this works everytime...but here is a trick for Toy Storia Mania.

We went one morning to HS for extra magic hour. We walked in the gate about 8:10 and went straight to TSM. We waited in line for about 35-40 minutes (not that great, huh?). Well when we exited the ride it was a few minutes before 9am and the gates where about to open to everyone. There was no one in line for TSM! We rode it again and only waited about 7-8 minutes tops. :thumbsup2 (of course when we exited for the second time...the line was outside and around the building! :eek: )

Thanks! It's 8 feet & motion activated. The horse whinneys & spooky ghoulish moans & groans eminate from it. I also bought a cheap frankenstein & ghost inflatables from Dollar General & last weekend bought my pumpkin Mickey patio lights & have orange lights to put around the e-z up awning for the Gem, and orange rope lites for the drive. We start driving down tomorrow!!!! The camper is all packed except a couple little things!!! I'm so excited!!!!!

All we have left to do is load the van and clean the house. We leave tomorrow too. Staying at our friend in Orlando tomorrow night!!! The temps are going to be lower than planned so some minor adjustments and we are good to go. We'll probably be in 2000, look for the big blue van and my dis Mickey sign in its window.

Ok, I just finished loading the camper with enough clothes for 5 people for 8 day. I decided to take a look at the forcast for Orlando since its windy, rainy and rather cool here. Looks like I get to pack some more! :rolleyes: It's a beautiful camping forcast so I'm not going to complain...give me WDW with less heat and humidity anytime!! :thumbsup2

Mmmmmmmm..... chili is simering in the crock pot now. Smells really good
