I also just booked my vacation for Nov. 29th-Dec. 7th--We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside on a 9 day Magic Your Way w/ dining (VERY EXCITING) There is going to be 9 of us --My family(2 adults and 2 kids) and my Sister-in-law and Brother-in-law and their 3 kids. We are considered a Grand Gathering so we will be able to enjoy that aspect of Disney also...
We have just booked our ADR and we will be eating at:
Chef Mickey's
Sci-Fi Restaurant
Ohana's
Rain Forest Cafe in AK (not on the dining plan, but a must)
Cape May Cafe
Crystal Palace
Garden Grill
1900 Park Fare
(We still have 2 more spots to choose to eat) Any suggestions????
So excited and waiting patiently!!!
Well we have changed quite a few things since this was first posted---we are now leaving on Nov. 28th until the 7th and because of the new discounts for this time frame we have changed from the basic dining plan to the Deluxe Dining, which only costed $100 more than our original plans (YEAH!!!)...
We are still eating at all of the above minus Rainforest Cafe and now have ADR's for the following:
Polynesian Luau
Tusker House
Kona Cafe
Chefs de France
San Angel Inn
Biergarten
Mama Melrose
50's Prime Time Cafe
Tony's Town Square
Boatwright's Dining Hall
Spoodle's
Teppan Edo
We are also doing the Grand Gathering's Fireworks Voyage--which should be wonderful!!

Kona Cafe is a must for us
with a group maybe whispering canyon cafe at the WL fun time and will allow you to get to see the decorations at the WL
our dining choices are Kona cafe Rose and Crown Whispering canyon and mama melrose ...dining choices based on location this year so we do not spend so much time traveling to locations for dinner.
booking candlelight processional package tomorrow and then after that it is time to just count down the days :rolleyes1

Sorry I haven't stopped by my own thread in a while. Already changed my ADR from Whispering Canyon to Hollywood and Vine so that we can hit Fantasmic the first night we're there.
Airtran has already changed both our flights. Same days, livable times. Guess we've gotta roll with what we get for the most part these days...
Made my daily spreadsheet guide for distribution to the rest of the family. For the amount of folks going, you gotta have a plan. Worked the meals in around parks times and EMH's. I don't plan things down to the minute, mind you, and there's plenty of flexibility. It'll be interesting to see how well we stick with it. If you want a mock-up, please PM me.
Still, hoping to start adding video clips to this thread as I get the chance. (I got one of those flip videocameras. :cool1: ) Alas, right now, I really don't think people want to watch me sitting on my couch surfing the 'net. :surfweb: I'll keep ya'll posted on the links when I get that far.
Keep the posts coming!

I found the best thing today at Sam's Club... That is if you like ice tea! 4C make those little packs of tea mix that you can put in a bottle of water. Four different flavors! :woohoo: I think those will be with me everywhere I go at the park, 'cuz we all know that the water tastes a little funky!

My DBFF and I will be there from 12/13-12/20/08 and staying at BWV with Boardwalk view!! I can hardly stand it I'm so excited :cheer2: Not sure right now if she will still go - I really would like my DS15 & DS21 join us but she isn't too excited about that idea. I think she would back out if I told her they would like to go. (may be a better idea to just go alone with them sometime in 2009)
Can't wait to visit Teppan Edo again and HS and Epcot and Magic Kingdom and see the characters and ride Soarin' and try out Mission Space and see Fantasmic for the first time and ride TOT a million times and people-watch and ride EE over and over again and well you get the picture :rotfl2:

I'm so excited about this trip! It'll be the first time I've stayed at a Disney resort and the first time I've gone during Christmas (or at any other time of year beside summer for that matter). It's my mom's first time at Disney World ever! She's always said she's not a theme park person, but I've finally convinced her to go (I know she'll love it, at least if the crowds aren't too bad). It's also my dad's birthday during the trip, so that should be fun.
I booked POFQ for Dec. 21-26 with the Disney Dining Plan. I made ADR for Grand Floridian Cafe, Liberty Tree Character Dining (I hope this works out alright. I really wanted to go here for the family style meal, but we don't have any kids in our party :confused3), Tokyo Dining, 50's Prime Time, and Rose and Crown Pub.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to book the Fantasmic or Candlelight Processional dinner packages because they were sold out. I'm worried we won't get seating for them at all.
Anyway, I can't wait to go! Just have to make it through the rest of the semester and finals :yay:

Can't wait to run into some of you down at the 'World!
I'm in the planning phase as well! Our trip is December 15-20th at POP. This is my first time as a Grand Gathering (each time I go, the numbers of my party go up!) so its been a new experience for me! I loved going last year around Christmas time and can't wait to get back!
I have dining res. for:
CP on the 15th for lunch (still trying to get dinner at LTT)
WCC on the 16th for dinner
CR for lunch and Akershus for dinner on the 18th
50's Prime Time for dinner on the 19th
No MVMCP for us, we have two 3 yo in our group and our DD didn't last till the party last year so I don't want to waste the money again.
Good luck to everyone in the planning phase and lets hope the time passes by quickly!

Hubby & I will be taking our first trip together Dec 8-12! Booked in March after researching that it's one of the "slowest time of the year" and now it's booked solid!? lol Yup, and free dining had to skip our week as well! It'll be my first time there so I'm just glad to be going. Can't wait!!
One question though. . . .
We haven't made any ADR (my husband's not much of a resturuant person) I did want to go to the Sci-Fi Resturaunt ~ What do you think our chances are of getting a table walking in? DH doesn't want to have to revolve our schedule around eating.

Hi! We're going from the 6-13 at the Poly :cool1: It will be me, my DH, my DD 6, DS 3, my stepdaughter who will be turning 9 while we're there, and my mom!
We're eating at:
O'hana
Coral Reef
Akershus
Crystal Palace
Chef Mickey's
Boma
Luau
We're arriving really early on the 6th which is the day they're supposed to be filming the Christmas Parade...
I figured that we'll just hang around the resort until our room is ready...hopefully with the kids taking a nap since we'll have been up at about 4am that day
Then after our early dinner, head off to the MK fully aware that it will probably be mobbed :scared1:
We're planning on just soaking in the atmosphere and IF there are any rides with short lines, that that would be a bonus :thumbsup2
We'll see how that all works out...I guess I should start packing soon :confused3
I was just putting all of my daughter's summer clothes away and realized that I probably should have kept some of it out for Disney????
Anyway, can't wait to hear other's plans and such...

I figured that we'll just hang around the resort until our room is ready...hopefully with the kids taking a nap since we'll have been up at about 4am that day

We leave seven weeks from today!!! I started my countdown at eleven months so this seems very close to me! LOL! Our first night was an add on so we'll be at All Star Sports with no tickets to any parks but the kids are excited to see at the over sized items the value resorts have then we'll spend the night at DTD. Both want to go to T-Rex Cafe for dinner to start off the trip and are already asking to build dinosaurs - they're 8 and 9 years old!!

Quoting my own post :lmao: Just had to update that my DBFF will not be going  (long story but we haven't spoken since early September). So am now taking my DS15 - his first trip & I can't wait to introduce him to the World
So far ADR's at Teppan Edo (arrival day 13th), Planet Hollywood (his choice for 14th dinner), Boma dinner (15th), Fantasmic/Mama Melrose (16th), Spirit of Aloha (17th), nothing on 18th, and Coral Reef (19th). Have CP on 20th for breakfast (our departure day). Plus my daughter, her fiance & grandson who just turned 1 year old on Sunday may join us from the 17th-20th!!
If you walk past the boardwalk, look up to see our Christmas lights and wave hi! (if we can string any - will have check the BW patrol first. Plus I plan on putting a big lime green Mickey head on the window!)

Crabbie - what a great itinerary for your ADR's! You lucked out and got the Brown Derby for your Fantasmic package - I tried all that week and could only reserve at Mama's. Hope you have a great time - looks like you will be there part of the time as we are!

Hi all! Another here going in December. We are staying at Pop 7-14th.
We are celebrating my sons 8th bday on the 11th at Studios. We let him choose the park - even though he has never been there.
This is my son's first trip there. My 5th and my dh's 2nd. We went back in Dec 1998 before the kiddos. That was the last time we were there. That was also my first time staying at a resort. I lived south of WDW for a while so we made daily trips to MK way back when.
So, as for planning...If it wasn't for the DIS boards I wouldn't know what to do. When before I just called and booked the hotel and bought tickets when we got there. Had no idea what to expect until finding the DIS boards just a few months ago. Thank god for DIS.
My itinerary is as follows:
Arrive to late to do anything on Dec 7th. No early flights - too late in booking I suppose.
Dec 8 - Pick up fridge from fellow DISer! Yeah! Then hed off to DTD for the day. Check out EARL and eat at Planet Hollywood. I'm doing PH more for the boys as they have never seen anything like this before.
Dec 9 - It's MK! Not sure if we are going to do the MVMCP yet. Eating at Pecos Bill. Nothing too fancy for us.
Dec 10 - EPCOT! YES my favorite! I'm eating just desserts all day! jk - maybe not. Eating at San Angel cuz that was all that was open. Really wanted Le Cellier cuz I heard it was wonderful. Apparently so! Bummer.
Dec 11 - STUDIOS for my sons bday. Really want to check out the parade. Anxious for my Aidan to see the Power Rangers!!! Eating at 50's Prime Time and at Pizza Planet for dinner. Sons choice.
Dec 12 - REST DAY! But we are going to Kona for breakfast. Made resie yesterday for that one. Glad there was one available. Was very afraid. Then we are going to Kona for dinner. lol Lots of Kona in one day. Should be fun.
Dec 13 - AK for our last day. This is our Character dining day with Donald for breakfast. I'm excited about this. Then T-Rex for lunch. We are going to take it easy that night and have pizza from the hotel.
Dec 14 - We leave the resort early to catch our flight at 8:30 to Detroit.
It's going to be a fun fast week and I'm thrilled and sad at the same time. It's going to fly by like a blurr! I must take millions of pictures! Of course we will partnered up with some other DISers for the photopass. I will be anxious to get home to see those!
To smell that Florida air again. I can't wait!

Teppan Edo & Candlelight Processional
Le Ceiler
Yak & Yetti

I just changed our return flight today to leave at 5:00pm, it was originally supposed to be 6:00am. DH said, "Honey, what were you thinking?" I got the airfare so long ago I think I picked the earlier flight because it was less expensive :confused3. Now that we are leaving later I am supposed to find a place for either breakfast or lunch before we head for the airport. So I am at work going over menus! :rotfl:
