View Full Version : Was this wrong of me?

Ok, so yesterday I told one of my friends that I didnt want to be their friend anymore. Now before you go and judge me this is why I said it:
-He is ALWAYS copying my work in science
-I've caught him multiple times cheating off of my test
-He has left me to do some projects all by myself. For example our Mars project, I had to do the whole thing by myself, and when we got the mark back he's like, "LOOK WE GOT 45/45".
-When I tell him that copying is wrong he says he doesnt care, and that he needs the marks.
When I asked him if he had ever copied or cheated off of one of my tests, he lied and said no. I KNOW this is not true! He did look off of my tests, and it is wrong what he did, and what hurt me the most was the fact that he lied to my face about it.
Also, there is just something about him that bothers me, like he feels like hes better than everyone else.
I am a very nice person usually, but this really just put me off the edge.
Was I a bad person?

No.
If this was really bothering you, and you didn't want him to be your friend because of it then it's fine. He should have stopped when you told him to.

Thanks.
I don't doubt that it was wrong of me to do this, but there has always been a part of me that feels bad if I do something to hurt somebody else.

I think that you should still be friends but also should avoid him in the classroom so you don't have to deal with the moral delema

Ok, so I just have to make myself stop feeling bad. That was only a small list I shared. Before he started making fun of me because I write alot (in my school work), and for the fact that I would rather be at home than go out and waste my money.

Wow, now he just sounds like he's being a douche.
Seriously, if he can't accept that you want him to stop making fun of you, and not copy your work, then you shouldn't be friends with him.
If he really is your friend, then he shouldn't act like that, he needs to respect how you feel.

No, your really not being a jerk.
If you don't like the way he treats you or acts toward you, then you don't need him.
You did the right thing, by respecting yourself and ending it.

If anything, it was right of you for ending this before it got worse.

No it's never wrong to tell someone how you feel. Maybe if you value the friendship and want to save it, you could talk to him.

I dunno.
It's probably because when I was 12, my best friend outta the blue said "We can't be friends anymore," with no justifiable reason and left me with no friends, but I think saying "I don't want to be your friend" is really harsh.
Hearing that is REALLY hurtful, regardless of whether or not its justified.
I probably would just try to talk to him, and say that it's annoying that he never helps in group projects and that even if he's okay with cheating, you're not, and it's not an issue you take lightly.
Bottom line, everyone deserves a second chance. JMO, though.

i don't think it is your fault because he is the one who started this in the first place. He shouldn't even be cheating off of you.And he should apoligize to you for doing that.

I told him already that I didnt want to be his friend anymore. I feel bad for saying this but my reason was justifiable. I can't have friends who uses me. He knows what he did but hes not willing to admit it.

whether or not you were wrong is all circumstantial.
in this case, it seems that you were completely right.
just curious, what did he say? that can be very telling....
