Staying in a Moderate or Delux.

Has anyone used their DVC points to stay at either a moderate or Delux resort? We are planning a trip in Jan 2009 and might want to stay at these during the weekends since the points go up. Plus we would like to see other resorts.

The non-DVC resorts are more expensive points wise, plus you have a $95 reservation fee.

For example, for a weekend in January, a studio at SSR is 20 points, a studio at BCV is 22 points. They have not pubished 2009 points for WDW resorts, but for January 2008 weekends a moderate standard room was 30 points, a standard Poly room was 67 points!

We have used our points to stay at the GF, Poly, and the Yacht Club. We have stayed at some moderates but on a cash basis. As another poster said, it's not the best use of your points, but we had a good time. I would do it again.
