Practical uses for digital cameras

Every morning we take a bunch of "informational" pictures. One of each kid (in case they get lost we can tell people exactly what they were wearing or show them the picture) where we parked, etc. The clipboard is perfect for these pictures. I can also see using it for taking a snapshot of ride-wait-time board, etc.

I just read this in another thread and didn't want to hijack it so I started this one with this quote.

Those are great ideas for ways to use a digital camera for practical purposes. I am curious about what other practical uses people have found for their cameras, especially at WDW. I can only think of a few right now.

1. When I rent a car I take photos of each side and any dings before I drive it off the lot.

2. Not in the parks but - in the summer I do a lot of purchasing for a music festival. Often I have to find props with very specific designs. I take photos of things I find to show the producer before making the purchases. It has saved me lots of time on returns.

3. I haven't done this but - I have heard of people taking a photo of an index card with their name and contact info on it so that in case the camera is lost it can be returned.

Anyone have any more?

at home i use mine( in the bag) to hold down a bunch of papers on my desk when the windows are open but somehow i don't think that is what you had in mind;)

At WDW, I use mine to take pictures of my family, rides, shows, and other attractions so that I can look back on them and "relive" my trip.:thumbsup2

We take photos of the label of a bottle of wine we liked, or of a book we might want to buy later. The camera has replaced a note pad for many of our uses.
We also sometimes take photos of where we parked at the airport and at the theme parks.

At work I have outside sales people who used to write down the names of businesses they visited (or wanted to visit) and addresses - now they can just take pics of the signs. This works well for buildings with directories, one shot and you have all the businesses in the building. Also serves as proof that they were actually there

I take a picture of the row I am parked in at the parks.

I take pictures of all sorts of things as backgrounds and embellishments for my digital scrapbooking.

I go room by room to document the contents in the event of disaster.

I take photos of book covers and the ISBN number of the back of books I see, particularly in Disney gift shops. Sometimes I can find the book at my local library, but I can usually find it used on sites like http://half.com for much less than the gift shop charges.
