During our recent trip, a dad-type person was at Mickey D's and wanted to know if he could use DDP. He was told "yes" ... 9-piece nuggets, large fries, drink, and then a cone or cookies for desert. He said "OK" and ordered 4.

My DH was busy eavesdropping and said this was 1TS each. Is this true?!?! I have a feeling if it is that someone got a butt-chewing from his wife once she found out. I would be super upset if this happened in my family. :furious: YIKES!

Are you talking about the McDonalds at Downtown Disney? I am not sure they are even set up to use Disney room cards for payment and you can't pay with the dining plan any other way. The employee would have given the guy all that food for nothing, which wouldn't make me mad at all.

When we were there last year we were able to use that as a counter service meal.

I'm not sure what you'd be upset about--those on the DXDDP can use their credits for CS or TS interchangeably, TS credits from a regular DDP won't work since you can't (unless under special circumstances like free dining when they are way over filled at TS) use TS to get CS. McDonald's is on the dining plan for CS.

:confused3 I don't understand this post! :confused3 What is there to get upset/mad about? And I don't think it's TS, it's counter service.

Do you mean the guy was eating 4 full counter-service meals himself? I guess I'd be mad if my DH did that (but I don't think he could eat that much himself anyway.)

I think the OP would be upset if those meals were charged as 1TS each. We know that Disney would not allow McDonald's to take an adult TS credit for a chicken nugget meal. That family may have been on the Deluxe plan and there is not distinction between TS/CS credits in the account.

I would be upset going all the way to the MK and eating Mickey D's, there are so many other CS places to eat. Lets see Mickey D's vs Flame Tree BBQ? or since they were in DTD- Earl of Sand or WGP Express?

You can use the DDP in WS.

6/9 piece nugget, large fries, drink and blizzard thing for dessert.

It is 1 CS credit.

I've never heard you could use it at the DTD location.

McDonald's at Downtown Disney is not listed in the dining plan brochure. You would have to ask there as to whether or not you can use the dining plan. But probably not. The OP was not specific as to which McDonalds. And I think she meant she would be upset if her husband used 4 table service credits to buy McDonalds meals. If the persons involved were on the deluxe plan, it wouldn't matter.

There are some McDonald's outlets in the parks where you may be able to use the dining plan.

Restaurantosaurus at AK used to serve McDonald's food, but they don't anymore.

Sorry I wasn't specific ... this was at the Mickey D's at Epcot and DH insisted that the guy was charged 1TS each. I meant I would be upset to use a TS for McD's instead of someplace else. Get what I mean?!?! Sorry for the confusion!

Now of course this was just what DH told me happened ... I didn't actually witness this event and DH could be exaggerating. Perhaps he is pulling my leg or simply misheard what was going on as he tried to dip into someone else's conversation.

Okay, the registers at McDonald's (at any CS restaurant, actually) are not programmed to deduct a TS credit in payment - so that man couldn't have paid, or even been charged, TS credits for those meals.

However, as others have stated, the Deluxe plan provides three meal credits per night, to be used as the Guest chooses. Assuming the rest of the man's party, if they were even concerned about how the credits were used, chose McDonald's, I wouldn't think anyone could rightfully be upset.

I'm confused also. I see on a map of Epcot a Refreshment Port near Canada that has Mcdonald's food there but after looking at a couple of websites including this one as far as the list of dining plan restaurants goes it isn't listed as a CS or anything else on any of them. So it is a CS DDP place but isn't advertised as such?:confused3

All said and done...I'm not sure why it would matter to anyone else but the person using the credit. :confused3

Deluxe DDP credits are interchageable and can be used for either TS or CS.

If someone were evesdropping or looking over my should at my receipt...then I would be a bit upset!!! ;)

Just a note: I used my room card for all purchases @ DDD at the shops, etc. We ate at Rainforest Cafe so I wasn't paying attention if dh used our room card for that purchase or not but probably so, since we used it almost always. They are set up to accept the room cards, at least the stores in DDD were.

Where is the McDonalds at Epcot?

I saw a McDonald's Fries little thing but not a full size McDonald's in Epcot. And like the one poster said, there is soooooooooooooo much in Epcot to eat, the last place I would be eating is McDonald's, LOL The fries are good but you could get so much more snackwise elsewhere. Still don't understand the OP anyhow, LOL

I am not sure how she did it, but at Captain Cooks last may I was allowed to use my last kids TS credit to buy a CS kids meal (one of my kids fell asleep one evening before our ADR and slept right through dinner!)...although, I do agree that a CS place would not deduct a TS credit for the meal the OP described unless otherwise directed or requested to do so.

2 years ago I used 1 CS for the same meal OP mentioned. This was at the Refreshment Port (McD's) by Canada. It's a great use of a CS, but not of a TS.
