I am a junior theatre major and I was wondering if anyone here has had experience in the College Program as a theatre major. Like what do you get to do and what-not? I would like to be a character because I think it would be extremely fun. I am pretty short too. I am 5'2. Which I think is an inch to tall to be Mickey but there are PLENTY of others. I would just like to hear some stories or suggestions from others. Thank you!

I am also a Theatre major and I will be doing the program this Fall. I went to a character audition and received the roll. There is a class on entertainment that you can take while you are in the program. I know Disney has a professional internship in NY that you might be interested in, as you have to be a sophomore or later, and since you are a junior that would fit.

Your welcome, I sure hope I have some fun hehe! For more information about the internship I was talking about here is the website http://disney.go.com/disneycareers/internships/home.html but if you want to do the CP I say go for it, because it sounds like a great opportunity.

I just did the CP this past Spring and I'm a Theatre major. I was in Attractions and I worked at Expedition:Everest. It had its good and bad days but I didn't appreciate it until after I finished my program.

While I was down there I did audition for Character Performer but I didn't get it because my dancing wasn't what they were looking for and I was measured 5'6" which is common height range (which makes it hard to get picked if you fall in the common height range, you're lucky you're close to Mickey height!) but if I'd gotten it that's Pluto height range. Hope that helps!

Hey! I was a dance major (just graduated) and have been wondering this very thing. I am also in attractions and am headed down to Disney on August 25th. I have a question for you- you said you were in attractions but were able to audition for character performer once you were there. I've heard it's pretty unusual to switch roles- how did that happen? Are there chances to audition for dance-based roles despite your original role? I'm happy with attractions (depending on my placement I guess haha) but I am worried about missing dance/theater while I'm there. Any of your stories or ideas would be so helpful, thank you!!
