While we were waiting on the stage show to start on the last night of Mickey's P&P Party (Wed. June 4), we were on the front row right before the castle, just behind the tram tracks / parade route.

Well, as we sat there, a VIP Escort CM walked by, pushing a stroller -- I immediately began looking for a celebrity...and I found one.

It was Joey Fatone (Wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joey_Fatone)).

I grab my camera and the red light flashes -- dead battery.

Figures...

Anyway -- who have you seen while hanging at the DIS?

We were at that same P&PP and saw Warwick Davis and his family walking around, it was neat!! He walked right by us, and me and dh both were like...was that?? Yea, we think it was, and we saw him again that Saturday at SWW at DHS, and we knew then that it was for sure him!! It was awesome!!!

I saw Sylvester Stallone at Downtown Disney. I wasn't able to get real close due the crowd, but close enough to see how short he was :rotfl: . It was very cool since I'm a huge fan of his.

I'd have to search DH's computer for the pix, but while staying at POR last year we saw Valerie Mahaffrey , the actress that played Alma Hodge on Desperate Housewives. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0536723/

We did not want to interrupt her vacation though (SHe was with a male and a little girl around age 9 or 10) so I stood near a rack she was near and held up "Something" so that when DH took her pix, it looked like he was taking my pix LOL!!!

It didn't help that we did not know her real name then. That was the closes to famous we've come so far.

Last December my DD was on Dinosaur and I was waiting for her where the pictures come up. Gloria Estefan walked right past me. An hour later she was on EE at the same time we were.

My family and I saw the comedian Sinbad at Magic Kingdom on our first day there a few years back! Everyone was crowded around him and taking photos. We didn't want to bother him and his family so we snapped a shot of him from a distance and kept going. Very cool though!

One year, while waiting for my dh and dd to ride a ride in Tomorrowland, I sat with my sleeping son in the restaurant there in Tomorrowland. I saw a large group of people walk in lead by a CM and realized that one of them was Davy Jones (from the Monkees). They stopped right in front of me and Davy put his hand on the handle of ds's stroller. Not quite sure why he did that but if he woke up ds, I was going to be mad. I never did say anything to him. Not quite sure what I would have said.

Then another time, when I was once again waiting for dh to ride something in Tomorrowland while sitting with the kids, I saw Joe Montana and his family coming out of Space Mountain.

I don't know why I didn't think to take pictures of either one of them. I guess I was too surprised to see them there.

Back in 1998, 2 sightings on our July trip:

1. in the airport I saw Al Roker, my aunt says it was just a guy in a trenchcoat but I swear to the day I die it was Al Roker!!!!!

2. at the Tusker House in AK (back when it was a counter service) my mom and my aunt were in line (I was saving the table) and they were in line behind Bobby Burgess from the Mickey Mouse Club. All of a sudden a CM came up to Bobby and said "Mr. Burgess, if you would like, we have a private eating area that you may use" and took him and his family out of the line. Pretty cool!!

When I did my CP I saw a lot of awsome folks! I was lucky enough to run into Jason Alexander, Grant Hill, Brian from the Backstreet Boys, Star Jones.

My favorite celeb encounter as a CM had to be Orlando Pace. At 6'8" he had a fun time busting on me for only being 5 foot and was talking with all the cast members and joking around.

I saw Michael Jackson at Disneyland in the early 90's. I was sitting outside the old Circlevision waiting for someone, and he and about 5 bodyguards just walked past, headed toward Captain EO! It was surreal!

Truelovernr1122,

I also saw him, but at Universal. He looked like he was having so much fun on a relaxing holiday with family or friends (or both). Seeing a celeb in public if they're scheduled to be at an event or something is always nice, but seeing them unexpectedly is a fun surprise.

I'm a CM so this is probably totally unfair because I'm always in the parks. I've seen:

*Joey Fatone (& daughter) - I'm beginning to think he has an annual pass, lol
**Tom Bergeron - I was an extra in the AFV episode they shot at MK. I was calling my roommate to see where she was and he took my phone and asked if she was lost and ended up at Universal, haha
**Tony Perkins - weatherman from Good Morning America. I was in the audience at the Studios when they shot Good Morning America there on 5-5-05. I met him after the filming.
*George Lucas - sadly, I didn't recognize him until my friend started flipping out. Appropriately enough, he was near Star Tours.
*Gloria Estefan - she was here last 4th of July
*Lee Greenwood - yeah, didn't know who he was.... haha
*Kelly Ripa - I saw her on Main St. with her family one time and then again when she did the Christmas parade
*Monique Coleman - High School Musical! (I admit it, I love it :p)
**A zillion athletes where I had no idea who they were - for example, one day when I worked at Thunder Mountain, I was loading a Guest and his party onto the train (they came in with their VIP guide) and as another Guest got off of the ride, he came up and shook the guy's hand and said how big of a fan he was. When the guy got on the ride he practically had to sit sideways because I swear he was 7 feet tall, lol
*Regis Philbin - shooting the Christmas parade
*A king and his favorite wife from I forget where, haha. She had a sweet gold and black headdress thing though!
**Phil Holmes, VP of the Magic Kingdom - come on, he's a celebrity :)

That's all I can think of!

*= I saw them
**= I met them

No, I think he asked him if he was George Lucas and he replied yes. :) He said he was there with family. My DH told him thank you for making so many great memories for him as a child. My DH didn't want him to think "oh, no another crazy fan!" He said he was very polite.

LOL, I never knew who the athletes were either! All the other CMs would be so excited and I'd have no idea why until they would tell me. I have to say though that I really enjoyed the athletes who came in. They were always very friendly and started conversations with the CMs when they came in to shows early

We got married at WDW in 1995 and when we were leaving the Contemp early in the morning for pictures, Jack and Felicia Wagner walked out with a CM. NOONE else was around!!! He was on Melrose Place at the time, so I was SOOOOOO excited!!!

They were on their way to film "Weddings of a Lifetime" at WDW and as they got in their car I yelled "I LOVE YOU JACK!!!!!!!!!" :rotfl2: He waved and said CONGRATULATIONS!!

No wonder I am smiling so BIG in my wedding pics!! :lmao:

I saw Jason Kidd at Epcot twice last October. Well actually I had no idea who he was but my husband is a big basketball fan and recognised him instantly. He was on the car behind us on Journey to Imagination with his family and VIP tour guide, then we saw him again at the Mexico Pavillion, his kids looked like they were having loads of fun.

Jackie Chan (played Dreamcast with him at Innoventions on '00)
Brian Krause (checked him in when he stayed at FW, he's super nice and easy to look at :rotfl: )
BB Mac (the British "boy band")
Joey Fatone (he's a former CM and lives local, so he's on property all the time)
Brooke Hogan
MDO (one of the incarnations of Menudo)
Most of the dancers from Dancing With the Stars
Ian McKellen and his DH Sean Mathias.

And my favorite: John Leguizamo. He's one of the nicest, most down-to-earth celebrities I've met, and he's a great dad. He also signed my copy of "To Wong Foo" for me :rotfl2:

OMG!! I am going for the first time in December and will be on the lookout for celebrities!!!

Ok..so not at Disney..but! About 10-12 years ago I was working as a waitress in a Japanese restaurant in Memphis when this guy a the bar says "My brother would love you...I'm gonna call him up here to meet you" So I was like "huh?" and here he comes in....Woody Harrelson!!! They were shooting a movie (can't remember the name but Courtney Love was in it), Woody, his brother too. He introduced me and I shook hands with him!
Thought it was kinda weird though..he's married with children, and a few days later brought his entire family to eat!

(Oh by the way..I was NOT impressed with Woody..he was not very friendly so I guess he didn't like me as much as his brother had thought..:lmao: )

My husband did electrical work at David Guess' house in Memphis...he's VERY odd...(the one that was married to Elizabeth Taylor)

So I do hope I see a celebrity at Disney but I don't know that I can bring myself to interrupt their vacation..

My Aunt, Cousin and I went to MK for the day and we went past Big Thunder. We saw this guy from the back and it looked like Mitchell. My cousin tripped (on purpose) and he turned around. IT WAS MITCHELL! We got his autograph.

Later on at school I found out that my math teacher's daughter was dating him. Thats probably why the girl with him looked familiar. Hmmmmmm....

Something to think about.

I saw Miley Cyrus in January get onto Thunder Mountain... i think she was doing like a meet and greet with a winner of some contest because the little girls she was with on the ride looked like she was about to die with excitement. The little girl had a Hannah Montana shirt on and her mom was snapping like a million pics. CM's were everywhere, making sure everything went smoothly. We left, because it was getting hectic. i think she left immediately after because we didn't hear about her for the rest of the day... my DF took a pic, so i will go back and look for it. It was the same day that People magazine took her pic on the ride and put it in their magazine a week or two later...

And I saw NSync do their Christmas special back in like 1998 or 1999. Good times! Love me some NSync from back in the day!

Years ago we saw 98 Degrees (Nick Lachey's boy band) at the Animal Kingdom, they were filming for the Christmas parade. Last October we went to GF for breakfast and saw Joe Flanigan from Stargate Atlantis. He was very cute in person.

A previous poster talked about how short Sylvester Stallone is, I met him at a Flyers game years ago, I was a senior in HS and was so devastated to see him in person. I am tall 5'9", and he looked like he was about 5'8". Sometimes it does not pay to meet a celebrity it can be a total let down!!

Quite a while ago, I was still in college, my mom, then fiance, and I were all staying at the Grand Floridian. One day, we were walking through the lobby, and saw Hulk Hogan.

Holy moley is he soooooo tall in person! I just couldn't believe it, so we didn't walk up to him so as not to distrub his vacation, but it was him. Later we saw him, his wife, and kids (they were little then) playing at the pool.

It's one of my favorite celebrity sightings, because I realized he's just a normal guy who wants to take a vacation with his family, like everyone else.:thumbsup2

I rode in the monorail with Samantha Brown from the Poly to MK. I saw her get in, so I jumped in the car with her. She was with a CM and an older lady. We were the only people in the car (mid afternoon in early May 2006) When there was a break in their conversation, I asked her if the Poly was one of the 'Great Hotels'! She said she liked it very much, but was staying at AKL. She was very pleasant.

We were on our honeymoon in 1999. We rode the Small World ride, and my husband kept turning around to the boat behind us... Finally, the lady in the boat said, "Yes, it's me.." VERY NICELY.
It was Christie Brinkley! She is JUST AS PRETTY in person, and very nice. She was whisked out another door at the end of the ride. We saw her later walking through MK with BIG guys around her, and her kids holding her hand.
On the flight back in 2000, we had a Pittsburgh Steeler on our plane. I didn't know it, though until we landed and my dad told me. I don't watch football, I'm a hockey girl!

Most of them do walk around with VIP tour guides (the same tour guides that anyone can hire). The only way they get special hours with the park to themselves is if they buy out the park for an event which is pretty difficult to do.

I have seen a few without tour guides. Jason Alexander came in without one. He was dressed in jeans and a tshirt and had his baseball cap pulled over his eyes with a full beard. He sat in the front row of FOLK and while I don't think many people knew who he was he was very nice to those who talked to him.

Ok here is my list -- one year in early December we saw quite a few including the entire Harlem Globetrotters team in their warm up suits getting off Splash Mountain as we were getting on, Katie Couric and her daughters at AK, and Mic Foley and his daughter at MVMCP (he was without an escort and in line with us-- said he likes to come to the park without an escort when possible), it was raining and he had on a yellow slicker like everyone else and honestly I am surprised anyone could tell who he was.

In March I was certain I saw Joey Fatone at a P & P party with his daughter and a CM so now that I have read all the Joey Fatone sightings I am going with it was him ... he was actually looking at us and I must say we were dressed up really cool ... that is how I saw him.

My daughter on her CP saw Donny Osmond, Brett Favre, other assorted athletes she did not know, David Cassidy's son (on her ride) and an All my Children soap star that she did not know but the brother of the star told her while they were chatting to load. She also went to the Dave Barry book signing and then saw him later in the day - he recognized her and spoke to her and she thought that was really nice. Might have been a few more but Donny Osmond was the one that she was really excited about.

I ate lunch at the All Star Cafe next to Tiger Woods once! I have checked in several VIPs at the front desk of my resort but we obviously can't take pictures or make a big deal. I checked in one today and still have no idea who he was, maybe a star wars actor.. he was flagged as a VIP.. I don't think I can say the name though just in case he wants a quiet vacation!

Pretty sure Brett Favre is a frequent visitor - I know my daughter worked at two different rides and she was at one in the Spring when he came through but he had been through the other in the Fall when she was off. In addition when she applied for the program one of the girls told her about her encounter with him the year before. He did not ride the ride his kids were on and chatted with the operator while the kids were riding. She said he was very nice.

I think I have read he is DVC.

Our first celebrity was Gary Sinise. He and his wife were staying in a BW suite on the club level. We met him in the hall one night. Very gracious. And then I was on my way past their room one morning and his wife Moira Harris was coming out the door to grab the dry cleaning which was haning on the door knob. She was going through her blonde stage then. She said hello to me and started talking about what a beautiful day it looked like outside and that she hoped all of us had a fun Disney day. So very cool! We met both of them one night in the hall by the lounge. It was closing time and they were being escorted in by the cms. They still took time to say hi.

Another time was at Animal Kingdom at the Tarzan Rocks show. We were sitting waiting for the show to begin when we saw Wayne Brady and his family being escorted in by cms. DS#2 loved Whose Line Is It Anyways so he just had to have a picture.

DD is a cm and she had a job once where she talked on the phone to members of the Disney family, Julie Andrews, Dick VanDyke (and the list goes one). She would call and say - guess who I was just talking to. Brat!

Our few celeb sightings:

1. NYE 02-03 we saw Barry Bonds at MK. He didn't have a CM, but a bodyguard. Man he was HUGE in real life, and I mean tall too!

2. Summer 03ish? my DH and DF saw Kurt Warner in the lobby of the BC. Of course I was in the bathroom and missed it! That's OK; I'm a Bears fan. :rotfl2:

3. Summer 05ish? we were at the Emporium at MK. A CM came running into our room to tell his buddy CM that Charlie Sheen was in the shop next door. By the time we went to the other shop to see, he was gone. :(

And my favorite: John Leguizamo. He's one of the nicest, most down-to-earth celebrities I've met, and he's a great dad. He also signed my copy of "To Wong Foo" for me :rotfl2:

Were you carrying that around, or did you know he was going to be there? ;) I've never seen a celeb in Disney, but I do less people-watching and more scenery-watching when I'm there, so it would take a big crowd gathered round for me to notice. My good friend tho loves telling the story of when she met Doogie Howser, Neil Patrick Harris himself at DL (when he was on the show, which is why he's always Doogie in the story.) Said he was super nice. Only celeb I've ever been close to was Dennis Rodman, and he was a snot, but it was during his whole crazy dress-wearing, hair-dyeing phase, so that might have been part of it.

I wouldnt know a celebrity unless someone else sees one and tells me! Or I literally bump into one- Leaving MK during the packed Christmas parade taping- I turned around and collided with a very tiny woman. I was surprised to see it was Kelly with Regis. They were both very nice. :)

DH saw Ted Nugent at DTD early afternoon.

CM told me I just missed Harrison Ford on Splash Mountain- DRATS!

Several years ago, while we were staying at SOG (Shades of Green) in October I was waiting for the elevator with my then 10 year old grandson, when the doors opened for us to enter there were quite a few men already on it--we hesitated to get on, but were told by the men that there was plenty of room. One man asked my grandson if he would like to meet Tiger Woods, he was shy and told them 'no'. As we exited the elevator, my husband was waiting for us--when he saw who was on it with us-he got so excited--we rode with several famous golfers that were playing in the tournament!! I didn't and still don't have a clue as to who they were. My grandson NOW wishes he had gone with the men to meet Tiger!! Me too.

Another time was at Animal Kingdom at the Tarzan Rocks show. We were sitting waiting for the show to begin when we saw Wayne Brady and his family being escorted in by cms. DS#2 loved Whose Line Is It Anyways so he just had to have a picture.

OMG I Forgot Wayne Brady!! I used to work at AK, and he's there a LOT. He's a super nice guy, and will chat and joke around with random people all the time!

Were you carrying that around, or did you know he was going to be there? ;)

He was staying at the Polynesian, and I saw him around for several days before I worked up the nerve to ask for the autograph LOL

I don't even know this Joey Fatone guy!

Joey Fatone was in NSYNC (when he was called Joey Fat-One by many since he was a little husky). He was also on Dancing with the Stars, and in "My Big Fat Greek Wedding."

That is AWESOME.. DAVY JONES:love:

I saw the Sopranos guy who played Pauly Walnuts on the show at AKL very early in the morning having coffee with what looked like his grandkids. I want to say this was 2006.

In the early 90's we saw Emmitt Smith at MK with lots of body gaurds near Splash Mountain. I think that might have been the year they won the super bowl and he was named number one player or whatever you call it. My husband was going nuts!!!

Actually, DD17 and I have met quite a few celebrities, actors and musicians! It's fun, they are just like us (sort of, :rolleyes1 ) but it's fun to meet them and talk about it afterwards! Actually, if you have a few minutes with them its fun to talk to them and just look them in the eye, and as you doing this you see just how much they are just like us for the most part, just doing they're job, and that makes them so much easier to talk to.

As far as celebs at disney, we've been to SSW twice so there are those celebs, are planned meetings. Any soap fans, we did see Rebekah Herbst(Elizabeth,GH), Michael Saucedo(ex Juan, Gh), and their family, plus the boy who plays Cameron on GH, Liz&Lucky's son. They were in AK, tues after SSW, they said they usually stay for the week after SSW for a fun vacation! :goodvibes

DH and I were in line to ride Thunder Mountain in WDW and Rhea Perlman and Danny Divito got on the ride via the handicapped exit with their kids...this was years ago. Once we were sitting outside of the All Star Cafe in Wide World of Sports, and it was totally empty...DH said look, there's Shak...yea right, where...DH said look up....my word, what a big man. He was standing out in front in a yellow warm up suit...right in front of me..looked like a huge yellow giant! And of course we have seen Kelly Ripa and family.

I used to work in the golf industry. One day, I was parking my car at the GF when a little blonde woman got out of a car I was walking by. I looked at her and instantly knew that I knew her, but couldn't place who she was. I asked her if she was from SC because she seemed familiar to me. She just laughed and said no.

We walked in together, and she mentioned that she was there with her family. Then, waiting for her in the lobby was her husband, Phil Mickelson.

We saw Kelsey Grammar at MGM the same trip. I had a pic but lost it in the divorce.. We saw Davy Jones in Epcot. I think they were doing a concert there.
Last year i swear I saw John Michael Liles ( Colorado Avalanche) at MGM but my friend said i was nuts. I am a HUGE Avalanche fan and I know my favorite #4... but he was eating and I let it go.

I chit-chatted with a guy who had a cute toddler in a stroller. The kid was babbling to me, so I talked back. Then he threw his bottle or cup or whatever and dad and I chatted about that stage where they throw stuff just to make you pick it up and little kids in general.

After he left, the girl behind the counter almost had herself a heart attack. She was all flustered - did I know who that was? He was in some very popular band that I had heard the kids mention but couldn't tell you a single song they sang.

I forgot the name of the band. But I did meet a famous person. I'm sure he knew I had no clue that he was famous. Cute baby, though. :)

He is a very gorgeous guy, very nice as well. Kinda funny story, my friend was down with her family from Michigan and staying at SOG since her brother is in the service. Well I went to pick her up so she could stay the night at my place and then we were going to Disney the next morning. Anyway her Mom and Brother went to the GF to have a drink, and he noticed, her Mom had no clue who it was but her brother did. He bought Johnny a drink and he came over to thank him. They started discussing things such as the best place to watch fireworks and so on. Anyway to make a long story short her brother knew I was coming to get her, so he called my friend's cell after asking Johnny if it was ok. He then told us to high-tail our rear-ends over there.....which we did. Not a second to later either because we had just put her stuff in the car and were about to leave. LOL! Very nice guy though, very sweet, even said some Piratey things for me on request.

Apparently Joey isn't hard to spot in Orlando since it seems alot of people have seen him out and about!

Back in the late 80's or early 90's (I was a kid), they were filming an episode of the old game show "win lose or draw", in the center of world showcase. I got to meet all the celebs. Funny story about Sally Struthers. I asked for her autograph and she turned me down. She said if she signed for me, she would have to sign for everybody. She offered to shake my hand. I replied by saying if I shook her hand I would have to shake everybody's hand :rotfl2: (I know it was rude but I was like 10 at the time)
But the coolest one was Eisner. I met him in one of the shops on Main Street. I had just bought a MGM hat (this is while mgm was under construction). I still have that hat. It has the MGM logo and Eisner's handcock on the bill.

Our few celeb sightings:
2. Summer 03ish? my DH and DF saw Kurt Warner in the lobby of the BC. Of course I was in the bathroom and missed it! That's OK; I'm a Bears fan. :rotfl2:

I used to wait tables at a pretty well-liked sports bar and grill here in St. Louis a few years ago. Warner came in one night, when I was off though. It wasn't too big a deal to me at the time, since the Rams (and the Blues and the Cards) would drop in. It got to be pretty old hat for us to see "famous" people. Heh. Although I guess I picked a good year to work there. It was the year the Rams won the Super Bowl. (Yeah, we were shocked too.)

Other than that, no celeb sightings for us, at least, not at Disney. I know a few people last fall saw Bobby Flay during F&WF. Someone had a picture with him too. I was SO jealous! Heck, I'm still jealous.

My husband and I were in the Orlando airport leaving Disney after celebrating our 15 year anniversary. When we arrived to check in the counter person was all excited!! She asked me if I knew who New Kids on the Block were....I am from Boston SO YES!!! Well she told me that Jordan Knight was going to be sitting next to me. I was so excited because even though it had been years since they had performed they were my first concert.

So we go through security and proceed to the food court near our gate. My husband goes up to get us some lunch. I am sitting at the table and looking around and I see Jordan sitting at the bar. Then as I scan towards our gate I see a guy standing by himself. My husband returns and I say to him.."Please tell me that the guy standing over there isn't JC from Nsync?!!?" He looks over and YUP it is!!! Can I just say I was and still am a HUGE Nsync fan so needless to say I was on Boy Band overload!!! Jordan ended up sitting in across and behind us to lay down and sleep. When we arrived in Boston Jordan headed right off but JC was standing at baggage claim. My kids were at the airport to pick us up so I told my 8 year old daughter to go ask for an autograph. She was so overwelmed she wouldn't and started to cry so her 12 year old brother walked over and said his sister was a big fan but was to scare to come over. JC looked over and smiled at her and signed an autograph for her.:cool1:

On our last trip, I walked into the restroom and saw someone who looked familiar and started to say "Hey, what are you doing here???" then I realized that I knew who she was, but she had no clue as to who I was. I hurried into the stall to do my thing and could hear her talking and knew it was Ming Na (voice of Mulan). She was still standing there while I washed my hands and I hurried out to tell my DD to go back in and get her sister and hurry up because Mulan was in there! Then I posed my DH on the steps in front of the restroom so I could take a pic of my family as she walked out and not disturb her.

Instead, my she and my DD came walking out together, chatting. DD had walked up to her and said "My Mommy says you were Mulan" As they were walking out, I heard her say "She's right". She walked with DD to where we were and we chatted for a bit, then she spotted my camera and asked if I'd like to get a picture. I told her yes and snapped away.

She was very nice and gracious.

Later that night, we rode ToT with Lisa Welchel (Blair from Facts of Life). She was with her DH and DD and a CM. Of course, I bought the ride photo! :)

I've met Dave Barry and Donnie Osmond at Disney. Dave Barry was at a book signing at the Contemporary. I had met him and gotten an autograph years earlier when he spoke at my university, and he actually remembered speaking there! Donnie Osmond was at Ak signing the Mulan cd and other Mulan materials last year. That was pretty cool -he was very gracious to all his fans. The line to see him was so big they actually cut it off about a half hour early, too, I think.

My family and I saw the comedian Sinbad at Magic Kingdom on our first day there a few years back! Everyone was crowded around him and taking photos. We didn't want to bother him and his family so we snapped a shot of him from a distance and kept going. Very cool though!

LOL I have also seen Sinbad at MK but back in 1997. I was just starting my College Program and while touring the MK during Traditions, Sinbad was coming out of Alien Encounter as we were headed in.

I have since seen him 2 more times walking around our local Casino.

We saw Kobe Bryant and his family on our September 2006 trip, they were with a VIP guide. We were sitting for a moment, just people watching and he walked by on his way to either Splash Mountain or BTMRR, I'm guessing. I asked my DH if that was Kobe Bryant and he wasn't sure at first, becuase he was a lot shorter than we thought he would be. I didn't think about it until they had passed to snap a picture, but I got a somewhat blurry picture of the back of his head. A few moments later we heard some guy on his cell phone pass us saying "Dude, we just saw Kobe Bryant and he is much shorter than I thought he would be!"

Okay - I have to throw this one out there as well, because after reading all the posts - some werent at Disney! While I was at the Charlotte airport when I was a lot younger - I think maybe I was 14 or so - back in the early 90's - Denzel Washington walked into me and knocked me down! He was trying to be all incognito, and was walking with his head down and didnt see me. He helped me up and was apologizing over and over again. I didnt know who he was, but my friend did and almost had a heart attack. He was very kind and told her to come over to where he was sitting and he would give her an autograpgh. Talk about close contact with a celeb!

So, we went to a Wiggles show at MGM later that week and there was this woman whom I just couldn't place who she was, but I knew she must be "famous". As we were exiting the show I overheard some people talking about how they had just seen Kathy Ireland.

I would imagine someone from TV, sports, or music is always there at any given time. They just go unnoticed. I've never really paid attention to who else might be there. You can't go into the Hard Rock Park w/o running into somebody from a band. It's funny too, most of the time it's those dinosaur rockers and they look at you weird because you don't know WHO they are. :rotfl2:

All these celebrity sightings, 36 w/ pics to prove and only one person came through with the pic? :confused3

I haven't seen any celebs at Disney, maybe I'm playing too hard to notice. :lmao:

There were at least 3 of us with pics. The ones I remember off hand are:

Nick Lache and whats-her-toes from the back walking into the hotel
John Ratzenberger in the background at a restaraunt
Ming Na with part of my family in front of the rest rooms

Only person I've seen was Kirk Cameron as a reader last Christmas... and that was far away.... and planned.. :rotfl2:

I saw him there, too, but about freaked when he walked in the door at my resort the night before.:faint: I saw him and his family (Chelsea Noble - his wife was on Growing Pains with him) several times, and finally got up the nerve to talk to him when he was alone and I felt like I wouldn't be bothering him. I talked to Chelsea first and they were SO nice. I just love what he is doing now in ministry and wanted to let him know. It was a huge highlight for me and my family got sick of hearing about it I'm sure, lol. I wouldn't take a pic because I didn't want to bug them or intrude on their vacation, but I wish I had one.

Wow lucky you! I so miss NSync!!!! They really need to get back together one more time, don't ya think?? ;)

Not at DW, but I stood right next to Lance Bass on line for a roller coaster at Hershey Park back in 2000 or 2001. I was exiting the ride and he was entering via the exit (with his Hersheypark escorts and bodyguards). People going both directions stopped, so we were right next to eachother. My husband goes, "Isn't that one of those N'Sync guys?". I could tell Lance was trying not to be noticed (he was wearing a hat and sunglasses and sort of looking down the whole time)...so I didn't say anything. Probably if he had just walked around without his whole entourage, no one even would have known it was him.

Back in the early 90's we were doing an OKW tour with the DVC person in a golf cart, we came around the driveway where you can see the golf green and the DVC person said...theres that new golfer everyone is talking about,Tiger Woods. He was putting with a few other golfers, I guess it was a practice round for the tournament...at that time he didnt have any special entourage or even people really following him.........my how things have changed !!::yes::

Earlier I posted "I got nothing" because I thought we were talking about JUST at WDW or DL. But, since others have posted about airports, I will say that we saw Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) at the Orlando airport. He was sitting all alone, sipping a beverage of some sort. But then he STOOD UP. My son and I both had to look about 20 feet in the air!!! He is SO TALL!! It appeared he was having difficulty walking though. This was in May 2006 after SWW.

My wife and I were eating at the Crystal Palace a few years ago when I spotted Dwayne Johnson with his family. I mentioned him to my wife and she and the other wives at nearby tables got all drooly. She caught him on a trip to the buffet and said hi. He was nice.

We were there in the beginning of May and Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minillo were staying at SSR resort one floor up from us...they got out of cab right in front of us...I was shocked...couldn't say a word! But I did get one pic as they were walking away!

It's kinda dark and crappy...but not too bad!

My husband talked to George Lucas in January. They both happened to be coming out of the bathroom at Hollywood Studios.

I saw George Lucas in Epcot near the Morocco pavilion in April 2007. He must go to WDW frequently.

We also saw Jody Benson at Flying Fish several years back and chatted with her for 10 minutes or so. Who's Jody Benson, you ask? She was the voice of Ariel in The Little Mermaid.

So true! I used to be a HUGE Kenny Chesney fan and after meeting him several times, it's hard to consider myself a fan anymore. Still love his older music but was truly disappointed in his personality. Oh yeah, he's SUPER short too!!

We were going into the back line for Its a small world and were right behind Kelly Ripa ( guessing her nany?) and her 3 kids but no hubby with them and they had a Disney guest host with them also.
We also sat with them in the same boat for the ride and they were nice but her kids looked so sad everytime we saw them that day and other places around disney. Not sad like they were mad about something but looked just very sad about something? If MK can't cheer you up something must be going on big time. and they were also staying at AKL ( because we saw them at the pool and she said they were staying there but unlike us they were in the suites.:) We could never afford those rooms.:lmao:

Pretty sure Brett Favre is a frequent visitor - I know my daughter worked at two different rides and she was at one in the Spring when he came through but he had been through the other in the Fall when she was off. In addition when she applied for the program one of the girls told her about her encounter with him the year before. He did not ride the ride his kids were on and chatted with the operator while the kids were riding. She said he was very nice.

I think I have read he is DVC.

Liz

I was told by the Bell Staff at Old Key West 2 years ago that Brett is a DVC owner and usually stays at OKW after the NFL season, but I have never seen him there.

I know probably tons of people have seen Samantha Brown, but here is the link to my encounter:

Also, I'm pretty sure I saw an actress named Margo Martindale on the same trip. I was waiting for my son to get off Mission Space during EMH, and the park was practically empty. There was a woman with a preteen girl looking at a map, and I knew I recognized her as an actress. I just couldn't remember anything she had been on. It wasn't until I was home a couple of months later that I saw her on "The Riches".

You lucky ducks who've spotted Harrison Ford and Johnny Depp...! :thumbsup2

I saw Meredith Vieira at the MK in January 2006. She pushed past me in the crowd walking down Main Street-- she was filming "Millionaire" and was in full stage make-up and white jeans and heels. I'm petite but she was really tiny! That's it so far. We were just out at Disneyland and had the most wonderful weather. I hoped we'd see someone famous but if we did I missed it!

We saw Michael Moloney from Extreme Makeover Home Edition today at Magic Kingdom. We have a photo of the kids with him that I will post when we get home. He was outside of Indy Speedway with a film crew (not sure if it was for the show or what) and was talking to the Disney guide with him when he noticed my kids waiting to meet him. He stopped, came over and took a picture with them. Very personable guy.

Last May 07 we sat right beside Nancy Kerrigan (the skater that Tonya Harding screwed over) at the restaurant in Mexico..it was really neat! She was with two little kids..her kids I'm assuming.

My husband spotted her of course, I would have never noticed.

She looked exactly like she does on TV. It was pretty cool. We did get a picture of her.

Back when Honey I Shrunk the Kids came out we saw Rick Moranis riding on a scooter in Epoct.

My mom rode in an elevator with Bernie Mac and a famous football player (she can't remember who). She also meet Dick Vitale, but didn't know who he was until the server told her! When we were there this spring I spotted Todd the winner of Survivor and made her go ask him for a picture!

When I was working at Disney I got to wait on Sal Governale from the Howard Stern show, he was probably my favorite celeb that I meet while working there.

Here is a list of the celebs I saw/met while working at Disney:
Kathy Lee Gifford
Drew Carey
Joey Bishop
Stevie Wonder
Eric Estrada
Tia and Tamara and their little brother
Steven Tyler
Kelly Ripa
Marc Consuelos
Mike Golic
Al from Home Improvement
Davy Jones
Rita Pearlman and Danny Devito

There are more, but that is all I can think of. I saw lots of sports stars, but I can't remember who they were! (my DH would be so disappointed in me!)

Last December we were staying in a concierge room at the BWI and so was Andie MacDowell. She was in the lounge each morning having breakfast, she totally looked like a normal person, she was never done up when we saw her, she was usually in lounge pants and a t shirt. She talked to my kids each day and asked them what they had done. No one bothered her, but she did start up conversations with other guests.
We also saw a rapper at the Grand Floridian in the gym, but I can"t remember his name...

Three years ago DD and DS and 2 of their friends went to DL. They were waiting to go on the Dumbo ride and Eric McCormack (from "Will and Grace") and his son were riding it while they were waiting in line. She snapped a couple of pictures.

Joey Fatone and Brett Favre are DVC members, so that's probably why there have been several sightings of them at the parks! :)

I don't know if you would consider him a celebrity, but on Aug 31 we saw Michael Phelps on TT. We were 2nd in line to get in the car and he walked out of the back door with a girl and 2 other guys and got into the car right in front of us. :lovestruc I stood there speechless and trying to get my brain to function enough to get a picture while DH started yelling "hey Michael, good job!" Everyone then started clapping. This is why I love DH so much! He knew I was dying to see Michael Phelps and we didn't arrive until the day after the parade so I figured I was out of luck. As soon as he saw him, he(DH) got his(Michael's) attention so I could get a picture. It was really cool! We tried looking for him again after we got off the ride but since we boarded while his car was still riding, he got off before us so we don't know where they went to next. Was still one of the highlights of our trip!:goodvibes

I think that I posted this on a thread last year, but in 2006 we were lined up for Soarin. We were told that no one would be able to sit in the front row because it was for VIPs. We assumed that it would be baseball players because the World Baseball Classic was going on the weekend. Instead it was the Manning brothers and their family along with some other NFL stars that my husband told me but I don't remember their names. I walked out right behind Peyton. My FIL is a HUGE colts fan I immediately called him and told him. He was sooooooo jealous!

They were there taping some bass fishing thing for ESPN.

I know that atleast one person has already mentioned Samatha Brown, but I acutally have a picture. This is from this past January when she was taping a new show. She may not be an extremely famous person to the general public, but if you are a fan of Disney TV specials then you love Samatha Brown!!

FYI... I'd say about half the people in the background of this picture were "actors/extras". With each take they would walk up and down Main Street pretending to point at things and having a good time. :rotfl:

Then you should've lived up here in WI, an hour away from Green Bay. He used to be everywhere!

I remember years ago I worked for a car dealership who gave him a new Monte Carlo to drive (this was in his first few years at Green Bay). It still belonged to the dealership, but they let him demo it for the year. He got a parking ticket which got charged to the dealership but it was his responsibility to pay it. I worked in the office and my manager had to call him and have him mail us a check, which he did (many, many months later). Since I handled the money, I handled his personal check with his home address, personal info, etc. I remember thinking "how cool!" Little did I know that within a few years he'd be a superstar athlete and my husband would be dragging me to games at Lambeau when I was 9 months pregnant (back in '97). Those were the days... :cool1:

When I worked at Walt Disney World I got to see several and even speak to a few.
Kobe Bryant – Pleasure Island
Jason Alexander – on Main Street
98 Degrees – on Main Street – they must have been there for something…
Evander Holyfield – came through the front gate at MK – we couldn’t believe it.
Drew Carey – he was sitting on the bridge waiting for the parade – we spoke about how we are from very near each other in Ohio.
Gloria Estefan – Magic Kingdom – in Fantasyland
Jessica Simpson – she was performing at Grad Night and actually Ashley Simpson was one of her dancers at the time. Yes, Joe was there too.
I swam next to Linda Cohn one weekend at the Beach Club. It was ESPN the weekend.
Also, the year Trent Dilfer was the MVP in the super bowl he was in the ticker tape parade and I spoke with him and played with his kids during the parade. I had no clue who he was and when I got home – my now husband couldn’t believe it.

Disneyland –
We were there the same weekend as the Pirate’s premier last year and holy cow…

We saw Teri Hatcher and her daughter get on the tea cups, right as we were getting off. We tried to get her picture but she blocked her face.

Also, we were getting on an elevator to get to our room at the Grand Californian and didn’t even realize I was standing next to Jerry Bruckheimer until the Cast Member wouldn’t let me get on the same elevator as him. If she would have kept her mouth shut – I probably would have never noticed. My sister had recognized him right away but didn’t say anything.

Also Chad Michael Murray we saw around 5 or 6 times in one day. We must have been on the same path as him to get on rides.

I am sure I am forgetting some…
