Was hoping you would show up last night! I will be at work, but Cindy will try to make it on to meet you. After she gets you as a friend hopefully she will be able to get my character on and I can get you as a friend.

I would suggest that the meeting place remain the same as last night (in the small area next to Bartleby the tree in Ravenswood), since it worked pretty well. Beside the realm be sure to include the area as it seems Fly defaulted to area 2 last night.

So I tried to register again with Docs brand new computers DirectX file and about 4 days later got my acceptance (yesterday)

So A, you maybe could try sending in the file from another computer??? and then just install it on yours once you get the letter.

All of them, except for the one in the Commons, are behind lock gates at the beginning of the game.

Also most of the books of Knowledge are with the bosses in the different areas. Even though you don't have to beat the boss in every case to get them, you do have to have have entrance to the bosses tower.

That might be the reason. Might also had been the reason Chedstro had to "poke" her daughter to get her on. You might try sending a friendly EMail with it attached, as I know they do keep that file on record for troubleshooting assistence.

Give then time Grasshopper and they will learn to "hate" you too.

The more I play the more addicted I am becoming.
At first I really didn't care for it (still holding all games against the bar set by VMK I suppose), but now I am finding I really seem to like it.

Will (AliasSpike) and I played for 4.5 hours last night. We were surprised to see it was so late.

I hope that the attraction continues. I am 20k away from level 40 on pirates, so then what do I do? Start another character who can't even teleport to Tortuga? I think not. :D

Small Worlds I like as well, but I was never into the social thing as much as other ppl. The building feature is nice and I love having a little Milo following me around.

But at the end of the day, no matter what game I have turned to for the day, I will am devastated that VMK is truly gone forever.

Aengus, I had the same Vista issue. When I sent my friendly little email, I included the information that I was running Vista just in case that was the issue. The return email expressed delight as they are trying to get more Vista users in for the beta test since we have unique issues and they want to try to find them.

Like I sadi earlier I sent in a request the firt day this game was mentioned (before VMK closed) but i sent the file from my laptop which is Vista, well when so many people got their approvals and I didnt I figured my computer wasnt up to par. So i sent one from hubby's PC and got approved in 4 days.

Tonight I checked my mail and low and behold I FINALLY got approved for my first request on my sub par Vista Laptop.
So now I have 2 accounts, which is great becaus my son fell in love with it today and now having 2 accounts we can be on at the same time.

Soooooo Aengus...I would deff. bring this to their attention lol

The customer service is GREAT!! I had forgotten what username i used for the newest account bc it had been so long and I sent them a message asking them to send it to me and within an hour I had a reply.

In the Shopping District there is a store with a paint brush on the sign. You can change your wardrobe colors there and the price is not too bad. However some pieces of clothes only have a limited color pallet for base and trim colors. This is a good way to always have the most powerful clothes and keep them matching somewhat.

On a related note: If you change your clothes based on their powers, which powers do you try to enhance? So far I have gone with clothes that raise my maximum life and mana. Thinking about clothes that raise the attack and defense powers for my school's spells or just my overall attack and defense.

It has been pointed out that when we were accepted for beta we all agreed to not disclose the game mechanics. You can read it on the official forums the whole spiel as for right now, I removed the picture I posted preivously and I would ask you all on a voluntary basis to do the same. Going forward please do not post any pictures from the game and I will be deleting them without notice if they are posted.

For right now feel free to ask for help, but try to keep the game mechanics off discussion as I believe its the game companies intention to keep that as a secret at this point still. Remember it is not a public beta and we were lucky to be invited.

Sorry if this has been posted before...Only adults seem to be able to see open chat in the game. My daughter and I play side by side. When I say something in open chat, it does not show up on her computer. Also, as the one who controls the accounts, it does not even give me the option to change her chat to open chat. She has a child account and cannot get open chat even if I wanted her to.

One thing I have noticed about their customer support is that they are very prompt in getting back to you about an issue. You have to keep after them though. One response from them said that they were going to forward my question to someone else that might help. I was waiting to hear back when I got a message "Since we haven't heard back from you, we are considering this issue solved". I wrote back that I was waiting for a response from them and shortly after that I got my answer.

I told my daughter a couple weeks ago that I was probably not going to renew our Toontown accounts in the Fall when they expire. She got upset because she associates TT with VMK. We were heavily into both before. It was as though she was dealing with VMK closing by hanging onto TT. After she started playing this game, she could care less about TT.

She is flying through this game. I feel like I need to seek out the VE classroom. :wizard:

I have been playing for a few weeks, and had no clue so many of you were there too! Yay!!!

The main wizard I play:
Sabrina Nightflame --> school of Fire
(Mariah -->school of Balance)
(Rygo on VMK and Rygo on Dis)

I choose to advance Mariah when we had the chance but got so lost at level 15 (I was only at level 5 before) that I created Sabrina (then the rest) to run through all the stuff I didn't know. So for now Mariah is waiting patiently in the classroom while I learn everything with Sabrina.

I am using vista and didnt have a problem downloading it. Not really helpful I know :rotfl: but that way you can elminate vista as being the culprit.

Well AZCat, the unofficial welcome committee and truly official helper with any quest no matter when you ask, has set up another couple meetings...

I'm not sure how these times work for everyone but in an attempt to shift things a little bit how about_:

Falmea is the name of the realm that we will meet in. You can get there by clicking on your noteback and selecting realms (third icon from the bottom on the left-hand side). This gives you the Realm and Area that you are in. Select the Falmea realm and make sure that it is on Area 1 and you should find us.

The night of the meet, please try and leave some space between you and fellow players. If we are too close together, it will be difficult to see names and conversations.

TIA and hope to see everyone there.

Yes!!......I'll try to be there on Wednesday evening. I'd love to add more DIS'ers to my friend list. I'm a level 9 in Fire and could use all the help I can get. I'm slowly getting the hang of working with the cards. I'd suggest anybody who gets the Diego quest to go see him right away as he does a good job of explaining how the cards work. He's at the arena.
