Can someone tell me where the headmaster is located?
Headmaster Ambrose can be found in his house located in the Commons. When in the Commons your map ("M") should show you exactly where.

...Did I get this quest out of order?...
I have said this before, but it is worth repeating. There are quite a few quests in Krokotopia that you will get before you have access to the area where you have to do them. This is somewhat like the Smiths and Library Books quests in Wizard City, but more confusing since they are single item quests. The ones that I can think of at the moment are:
- The Map Platform quest you will get before you can even enter the Palace of Fire in the Pyramid.
- The Thors Hammer quest that you will get before you can get to Bort in the Grand Arena colliseum in the Sphinx.
- The Soul Scavenger quest that you will get before you can enter the room in the Deseret Family Tomb in the Temple of Storms.
There are probably more!
In all cases (so far) you will eventually get another quest that will take you to these areas and at that time both quests will be completed.

...Professor Falmea gives out that quest automatically when you reach Level 18. Unfortunately, I think the vast majority of Pyromancers are nowhere near to having access to Krokosphinx at that point...I believe all the other schools receive bonus spell quests at the same level but are able to complete them without waiting for areas to open up...
Ice has the same problem. We have to defeat an Ice Colloseus in the Hall Of Champions before we can get to the Sphinx. Even when we can get there an Ice Wizard fighting three lvl 3 (one lvl 3 elite) ice enemies is not for the faint of heart.
Thanks to all my friends who always seem to be there for me when I need them - even in the nick of time when the battle has already started.

Belle, can you see what other people are saying when they are not using the limited chat drop down menu? If you can see it, then yours is turned on. If you can't then you need to go set your options to Dictionary Chat. If the dictionary chat option is not on, you can neither see nor speak with the secure chat option. So if who you are talking to doesn't have it, they won't be able to see it.
Go to www.wizards101.com (the main website page), log in (its on the left side drop down menu), then chose "my account", go to the tab that says Account Controls, toggle on the "Allow Dictionary Chat' (check it), and save.
Then launch the game. Once in game, while you are just standing there, hit Enter. The box at the bottom should come up for you to type in. You should be able to see your words come up on the screen, and see words of others that are typing in their words (versus the drop down).
are you by chance on? I'm going to go by the lake in the common are Falmea area 1 just in case. Maybe we can meet up.
Oh thanks Gold no not on at work but I was doing it with the logo you click on your desk top not from the web page. thanks again hope it works :)

Two questions I am hoping someone can help with...
I am Fire and I was given a spell called "Steal" that I cannot figure out how to use. It costs 1 pip and is supposed to steal clover(?) back. But, the couple of times I've used it, I don't notice it doing anything. So, I've removed it from my deck. Can anyone explain what this spell does?
Hi!
If it's the one I'm thinking of, it does damage over time and there doesn't seem to be any animation that goes with it. After you cast it, you should see a fire shield (like fire elf spell), going around the opponent's feets, and heal shield (like heal-over-time fairy spell) around yours. For the next 3 rounds, the fire will damage your opponent, and you will receive healing.

No it was what Cat said. It steals an opponents +35% charm (Blade).
Ah! Helping my nephew today I found a trainer on Colossus. :D
QUESTION: Speaking of my nephew....He is an ice person. He finished the Ice Tower battle and it says "Go to the statue near Mindy Pixiecrown". When he goes there nothing happens to advance his quest. Anyone have this issue? ****NVM He logged in again and he got it. :D

I just thought I would post a little reminder so people are aware why we are doing things a little differently in the wizards thread than the other gaming threads.
When we were approved to play the beta for wizards many of us (self included :rotfl: ) quickly clicked accept to the terms of service. In it we all agreed to not share information about the game publically.
Yup your thinking... what are we doing here? yeah we are sharing information about the game with the public :rotfl:
We are well aware that wizards101 would not like us to post pictures, so thats why nobody is seeing any. Other than that just share your knowledge to help eachother through the game at least to this point has not been frowned on by the game producers. They are aware we are here talking about it and they are aware the moderators would be supportive in the event they felt anything was crossing the line of that disclosure agreement.
I felt this little blurb might just help prevent any confusion
Remember not to post any pictures, and other than that just keep in mind things from a non disclosure agreement perspective while your posting. Which I dont believe anything in this entire thread ever violated. Remember they are really interested in protecting their product, thats what this is all about. So if your not divulging a game secret from that point of view odds are they are probably pleased to see the feedback and are probably enjoying to see a community embrace the game in the manner this one quite obviously did.
So anyways @_@ This wasnt to scare anyone into stopping anything just a reminder that there was a non disclosure agreement, and thats why there are no pictures and the like.
Have fun in their game, I have been :thumbsup2
If for some reason they ever have a change in opinion and were to contact any moderator here with that concern, I would share that with you all. No worries ;)

The X indicates that it will use all of your pips at the time it is cast and although I've never really had much luck with the storm version of that spell, soothe, I believe that it should reduce your threat level to that monster to either have them not attack or focus on someone else.

I am elated that I finally made it to Krok; the transition was absolutely awesome! This was a major goal for me and a possible stopping point for playing the game, but apparently that doesn't have to be the case. I'll see how much longer I can proceed in solo mode.

Are you entering the words you constantly try to use on the bug? I know I submitted a bug the other day that the dictionary is missing too many verb tenses/variants.
I'd be happy to help with Grubb... it is so sad to see a totally empty task page.
And big thanks to Robert Icecaster, the new Mastermind in town, you didn't know what you were getting into jumping in to help me yesterday. :rotfl:

Yes, I am. After you suggested it, I've been sending my "bug" report in for certain words that are missing and needing to be added.
I would appreciate your help. I'm wondering how I'm going to keep him alive. :D 2 potion bottles great, but he only has pixies! How did we do this when we were just little people?!?!
Just waiting for Cheryl to wake up. His title is Brian Icesword. I will get him on after she gets up. Cheryl will do a sweep of her friends list and see who can help us. Get those dryads ready!!

I'd be happy to help. Isn't the site closed until 11:00 Central? I haven't checked yet, but I'll be on as soon as I can. I've still got Big Ben to do today, before I, too, go away on vacation (tomorrow!) :)
I'm wondering how I'm going to keep him alive. :D 2 potion bottles great, but he only has pixies!
I could use my Pyromancer who, although weaker than my Conjurer, at least has Sprite healing spells to cast.
Another tactic is to load only a couple Pixie (and Guiding Light) Treasure Cards in the TC slots, with several more in reserve. That way, if you draw from there, you know what you are getting.

Any idea on what I am missing here?

When you go to the Dig Site in Royal Hall. There is a TALL oblisk in the center right...just beyond the sort of half buried sphinx. You go there and click the x. You have taken your rubbing then and can go back to Zan'ne.:wizard:

You know my best guess is that the launch will be sometime in mid August.
Right now I am in Marleybone. Same stuff as last time. I've got to choose whether I go through the CHelsea, Ironwork, Scotland Yard etc. routine
OR
tyr out a new wizard combination and make sure wht I want for the
launch. I'm thinking the ultimate combination is Myth - Balance.
Any other suggestions?

My main wizard is Death - Fire and it works well aside from the Fire School fizzle rate. (I only use fire spells against Death resistant opponent)
I have two other Wizards:
A (Balance - Life) she litterally cruised to level 10.
and a (Death - Life) that works well too, but i used Mr Advancer to get him to Kroktopia.
For sure Life will be my second school if I need to start all over.

I am myth / death
now as the hero of unicorn way let me tell you why i like it @_@
the minions from myth are an obvious advantage
the level 2 death card being ghoul has been a savior to me. At least when your low level like me its a great advantage to hit and heal in the same turn.
I'm sure you have better reasons than I for liking balance over death but I have really enjoyed this myth / death combo.

Actually, that's not a bad suggestion. The next time I get on I have to run over to Ravenswood and see how long it is before you can get the best death goodies. Think I have only used one training point on my new guy. And it is a secondary school, so I can easily change at this point. I hope the minion I eventually get (from Myth school) is stronger than the Wooden Man myth. He is pretty useless.
I'm pretty commited to trying stuff out in the next few weeks before launch.
Since it take a couple of weeks to get through Krokotopia, I figure I'll save some of the Marleybone stuff yo be a surpise when I get there for real.
DEFINITELY NEED A DIS FRIENDS MEETING AFTER THE CLOSE OF BETA.

I am from Death school, and I find my minion quite awesome. :cheer2: (twice he casted the Kraken!! :wizard:)
Since some school seem to find their minion rather weak. I was wondering if they worked the same as mine.
If i cast my minion with less than three pips, then, it is pretty much useless. Low health, and casts almost only taunt spells.
But with every pip over three, wow, what a friend! He gets a higher rank and more health. The best i got was a rank 6 with 800 health
I thought it was the same with other schools minions, but i am not sure anymore from what i hear. :confused3
How is it for you?

My storm wizard has what I call my 'target minion' (water elemental). He only has one cost, three pips, only comes in rank one but at least has 700 health. His spells that I've seen so far are mainly taunt (his personal favorite), also elemental shields, absorb shield and the rare ghoul.
My balance wizard has a 'helpful mander'. He also only comes with a single cost/level/health, but I haven't been working with him that long.

All of the X rank minions will use all of your pips. The longer you wait to summon it, the stronger it will be. Some schools will cast different minions depending on the number of pips used.
IMO then Myth Cyclops minion is the best! The more pips the better but all of them cast great spells. They do not just stand by. They heal me, give me power pips, cast Myth spealls and even Storm Shark. He rocks!:thumbsup2

i was browsing through the wizard101 forums earlier but there is a lot of posts, and i found these forums here, which seem to be a collection of really good information, i must have read like 20 pages of posts before deciding to to join and chat about this game
1. what is the little four leaf clover looking icon on some cards?
2. what is the little brown shield looking icon on some cards?
3. so what exzactly is the "fist" icon, is it physical damage? i know if i put a "tough" card onto a monster it boosts it
My main problem atm is choosing a 2nd school i am level 7 and storm wizard, i was thinking of choosing ice as my 2nd, but life looks good too
i want to make a good choice so when i get to a higher level its easier, i am more of the wizard who focuses on high damage, but i dont want to be weak without any defenses when i need them
i have the faerie card, so i can heal for 400, i'm doing well for gear, i have the storm dagger etc.
Also when i buy a card from the library, say i bought a life faerie, does that card go into your main deck? or your side deck (i call it the side deck) the deck that has the cards that you draw after discarding a card.
So if i wanted the tough spell, could i buy 3 of those for my main deck? to boost my monsters, or if i wanted a shield spell
if someone can explain the little icons next to monsters, it wasnt explained anywhere, like the dark faries have a little purple dagger next to them, and rattlebones has a red thingy, what do they mean? weakness?
basically i want storm for all the big damage, and then have all the life/shield spells i need to get through fights, just not sure how to go about it
and 1 last question, whats a good way to get gold, i grow tired of the mini-games, and the only one i have found good results from is the block game, i can make it to level 7 or 8 consistently, for 25-28 gold, but its time consuming
i can farm bosses, is this a good strategy for gold? sell the guranteed loot?
thanks

I believe the main cyclops guy has the kids... (Don't recall his name right now, maybe he is Akilles) he is the one with a guard out front and you need to get a fake pass to get past the guard.

basically i want storm for all the big damage, and then have all the life/shield spells i need to get through fights, just not sure how to go about it
and 1 last question, whats a good way to get gold, i grow tired of the mini-games, and the only one i have found good results from is the block game, i can make it to level 7 or 8 consistently, for 25-28 gold, but its time consuming
i can farm bosses, is this a good strategy for gold? sell the guranteed loot?
thanks
Hi
I remember seeing a page on Wizard 101's home page that explains the spell cards, but i can't find it right now. I will keep looking...
For the treasure cards (the gold cards) they all go in your "side deck". All the cards you buy or pickup from fights or wooden chest go in that deck.
As for me i never bought any treasure cards. I only have the treasure cards that i pickup. I keep my gold for clothes, wands, decks or jewelry. Those can bring protection (shield), more power (fist), more power pips or precision or less fizzle (bulleye)
As for you second school, i would choose a less fizzle prone school. It's the percentage number on the card. 75% means the spell will fire only 75% of the time. Life as 90%, so this is very good. And you will later find that you 400 health point fairy if not that much when you get it with 400+ damage spells.
Speaking for my school, Death is also a good choice as it has spells that steal health from you opponent and gives some back to you ;-)
I only play mini games to fill up my bottles, i get enough gold from the fight, and selling items I pickup and I don't use.
And finally, yes farming is a good thing. I use it and not only for gold and stuff, you can also farm for experience... :goodvibes
Welcome and good luck!

I have really enjoyed my "extremely confused" wizard as I call him. I am major in life while minor in death. Helps having heals as well as "steals" of health. I'm sure that the mobs in the game (bosses and regular alike) have cursed me a number of times because of all my healing friends (sprite... 30 first heal then a certain small amount over time, pixie... 420 to myself or anyone unlike the pixie for other schools, unicorn... 240 to all persons in the party, satyr... 860 (I believe) to anyone, and even the lord himself... 55 first then 366 for 3 rounds). And to add that along with my stealing friends so far (skeleton and dracula) just makes it even worse. Also I can throw in my little short cleric friend (the sprite minion) who is a lifesaver. I just let her heal me while I finish them off once I have enough pips to summon her out. Oh the joys sometimes of basically having unlimited health.

well i have been playing all day and i figured out a lot of stuff today
i just cant decide on what school for my 2nd one
fire looks good, i like the fire spells, and they do the most damage
ice also looks good, they do less damage, but i think they look good
death is even an option as the life stealing cards would be helpful
i'm a storm wizard, lvl 8, at level 10 i can get single school shields from the girl at the fairgrounds for 1 point each, but i rather get a 2 school shield from focusing on a 2nd school
i have 2 points at the moment, rather put into a secondary attack school for monsters that are strong against storm
so my real question is...which do you think has the most strong/immune monsters, ice or fire? or is it mostly random.

Well, starters there are hidden spells, as you said the mini-game fairground, also you can get another spell, when you find the school of death (in the waterfall near unicorn way) I suggest you do myth, they have very good damage. The strongest immunity is ice I believe their shield is 70% less damage. I suggest life I am in life, and they have a very good plethora of spells.

Just like in Wizard City for the library dues book hunt. Just go back to the last major boss battle for the streets you have completed. You will see them.
For example: Ironworks you will find it in the last battle room right behind the enemy.

LOL! I found that I have a difficult time trying to find a good balance between my healing cards in Life and my attack cards in both Life and Myth. The barfing frog is pretty useful, but it's like I have to choose between using a life minion, a seraph, a satyr, or the humongofrog....if those cards even show up in the deal. The fairies are good to have, too.
I haven't played for a while, and I'll probably be "on hold" (except maybe popping in a little here and there) while shopping for a new car this week. :)

Hey Myth Wizards!
This is the second time I've gone through Wizard City with a Myth wizard, but I am stuck on an easy task. Sometime about Level 10 Drake asks you to go to the tower across the street from the school and fetch the "Cyclops Eye".
There is nothing but an empty room. Can you remind me where the "eye" is?

Hope this makes a difference. I Usually can't get to the tower for the first quest because I keep getting pulled into the street.
Speaking of which; my poor level 14 Storm/Myth wizard may be out of her depth in Sunken City. Any card/strategy suggestions for battling three rank 3 opponents at a time? Would it be any easier to do the Krok quests in the pyramid first?
Also could use some advice on an unused training point. I am wavering between Cyclops or Life Trap, but I'm not sure what Life Trap does. Can I use it to add 25% to a Pixie health card? If so, does the Pixie card have to come up at the same time as the Life Trap, or is it applied the next time a Pixie card is used?
Or can Life Trap only be used with an offensive Life card? (I have none.)

I'm not sure about the life trap card. Have you chosen a "minor" school. It's best to chose one school to use your training points in. otherwise you will end up with a bunch of low level spells.
Also, I didn't do Sunken City until I was closer to level 20 and it took three of us to do it. There are plenty of peeps around here who are more than happy to help. I'm like you, in that, I'm usually a loner gamer, but everyone has been so awesome here. I actually look forward to seeing people online and burning through quests together!:goodvibes

I went back to Krok and that is much easier. I'll just abandon Sunken City until I get to a much higher level. Thanks for the input.
The Life Trap card is from the "hidden" trainer in Wizard City. (Don't want to give too much away.) I've been sticking with my secondary school, Myth, for all training points so far and would be happy to continue that way; just wondering if there is some advantage to the Life Trap. Does anyone who has it know why it would have been offered at that point?
Cyclops is a cool card, but what is the real advantage of another 3 pip spell? I rarely get to the point of being able to use my Storm Shark as it is.

I'm not spending training point on anything else until i finish my second school. But that's just me.
When you get into stronger areas you will use more 0 pip shields and buffers while you build pips for stronger spells. You want high pip attack spells from different schools to use on enemies of different schools. For instance, when you fight storm enemies, they will have resistance to Storm Shark. But they are weak against Myth, so the Cyclops comes in really handy.
It's a good thing we didn't try the Grubb run. The servers went down!

I have some shields and have been using them without really understanding what they are doing. Does it only apply to the present turn, and does it only protect against one of my opponents, or all of them? I think I see shields flying around me sometimes with no correlation to what I've just cast. Or maybe I just lose track.
And are the buffers (buffs?) the cards that say something like "+25% to next _ spell"? I assumed that increases the damage of a corresponding spell, but I usually don't seem to notice a difference in the points. (Exception; one time that card boosted my Storm Shark to over 400 points damage!) Again, does it only apply to the selected enemy, and does it have to be in the same turn?
I guess the next thing I need to work on is practicing what to look for on enemies during battle. I have difficulty taking in multiple pieces of information at once, so this has been slow going for me. I've finally started to notice the school signs (although I wasn't sure what they implied as far as strengths/weaknesses; thanks for that explanation) and I need to get used to calculating that into my card choices. But I have yet to observe what kind of card the enemy has drawn, before they actually cast it. Where do you look for that? (I do have the 2D display enabled, btw.)
Please forgive all the questions; these have all kind of built up to this point. I'd love to feel that I really know what I'm doing! The tutorials didn't go into nearly enough detail in my opinion; they really need to have a thorough spell guide in their forums for reference.

You may not have cast all the things you see flying around you. Depending on the type, they could have been cast on you by other Wizards or by the Monsters on the opposing side.
Shields protect against a spell of a specific type (Life, Storm, Fire, etc.) It will last until the it first encounters a spell of that type, at which point it will reduce the damage from that spell and then disappear. Note: Death Shields do NOT protect against the "health-draining" ability of a Ghoul or Vampire spell. Also note: There is a type of shield called Spirit Armor, which absorbs all damage up to a certain amount and can, therefore, last multiple rounds. If you aren't a Life Wizard, you can pick up some Spirit Armor Treasure Cards in the Libraries of Wizard City or Krok. They cost 3 pips to cast, but can really be worth it.
Blades can be cast by either side on themselves and will boost the damage inflicted when you/they next cast a spell of that type. A Life Blade, for example, will increase the damage caused by the next offensive Life spell cast. It will not, however, increase the power of a Life healing spell. For that you need a "Guiding Light" spell (also available in the Libraries).
Shields and Blades are cast by Wizards and Monsters on either themselves or their companions on the same side. Traps, on the other hand, are cast against the opposing side. Their effect is similar to that of Blades in that they boost the damage inflicted by a certain type of spell. A good thing to know is that Traps and Blades are "stackable", so you could put a Storm Blade on yourself and a Storm Trap on an enemy before casting that Storm Shark spell. When you do, the damage you inflict will be boosted significantly by both the Blade and the Trap. Be aware that some Monsters also know this trick and that you will occasionally find yourself on the receiving end of a Blade/Trap double whammy.
There are also Weakness spells (either cast by you on an opponent or vice-versa) which decrease the damage caused by a spell, and Accuracy buffs (such as Death's Mantle) which reduce the casting accuracy for the next spell. To put it another way, they increase the chances of fizzling.
... But I have yet to observe what kind of card the enemy has drawn, before they actually cast it. Where do you look for that? (I do have the 2D display enabled, btw.)
You can't see what the enemy has drawn. You'll only know what it was when it hits you. :)

I am, indeed, returning home tomorrow, so my Conjurer will be joining you in misery, Diva.
I'm not loving the sound of Rank 6 Myth monsters at all. The Rank 4 Street Sweepers in Marleybone gave me a hard enough time -- worse than a lot of the Boss Battles I've been in.
Sounds like I'm gonna need to change to my Storm Staff and load my deck with as many Myth Prisms, Myth Shields and Pixie healing cards as I can carry.

You can't see what the enemy has drawn. You'll only know what it was when it hits you. :)Ah, so that is different then seeing what a fellow wizard has drawn. (Which I have yet to do; other than a couple of random fights, it has all been solo so far.)You may not have cast all the things you see flying around you. Why Wizard 101 does not offer it in a detailed guide on their forum is beyond me, as I don't find it to be particularly self-explanatory in the game.
I thought of one more question: What does the Storm Prism actually do? Is it offensive or defensive?

You walk right down the middle!! It's actually really easy, once you get the hang of it. Just stop on the grates and watch to see where the enemy walks. They always follow the same path. never walk onto a roof section while they are crossing the path.:)

I thought of one more question: What does the Storm Prism actually do? Is it offensive or defensive?
Prisms are offensive spells that you cast on an enemy. Their purpose is to "convert" one type of magic spell into another, in order to get around natural resistances or shields.
For example: if you're facing an enemy with a natural resistance to Storm magic, you would cast a Storm Prism to change a subsequent Storm spell into a different type of magic that they don't resist. (I'm guessing it would be Myth. Storm creatures tend to be extremely susceptible to Myth magic.)

I finally got myself to Marleybone with the help of lots of people to beat Krokopatra.
Now, I'm just getting a bunch of different quests, but I haven't started any battles (other than picking off a bunch of hapless fire elves in Firecat Alley). I also had a LOT of coinage sitting in my pocket, so I bought a brand spanking new wand and spell deck so far.
I find it difficult to figure out what cards to "pack", and I rarely go into my treasure cards. I have a neat new Guidance spell I can use to increase my own (and my friends!) target levels 10%. You never see what it does, but I think it's supposed to reduce the fizzle percentages.
I feel like I'm the person who failed the 3rd grade twice, as I'm a Level 27 wizard there. And since I had a lot of issues logging in, the reset I did made it impossible for me to visit any area without a "wait young wizard" warning. And I found a new badge "Master Diplomat". I like it so much, I think I'll wear it next time I'm in the game. :)

Because I rather found your comment a bit offensive to those of us not having such an easy breeze of a time getting there. I am still on Krokotopia. I'm to the point where I have the quest "To Sunken City" - Find Grubb - Collect Item of Proof. Is Grubb in the tower or is there a progression of battles I have to go through? Also, is it possible to actually get to the tower without being thrown into a battle. I swear I'm 'on the sidewalk' but still get pulled into a battle with 3 of those meanies just as I get to the tower. I just wanted to get in there and see what I'm up against.
Soooo, if anyone else is trying the same quest I'll be happy to join in and would welcome the help myself.

I have good news and bad news.
The good news is the cat is right in the doorway after you defeat the last boss in the Iron Works.
The Bad news is if you have left the area you will probably have to restart all the missions over again since this is how it works in the Iron Works. You can only get the cat after you defeat the last boss.

Rowan RainheartI had the same problem too. I did manage to get to the tower a couple of times out of many tries, but three rank 3 elite banshees were a little much for my (at the time) level 14 storm wizard. After reading posts about the difficulty of this area, I finally decided to leave it until I'm at a much higher level.
According to their forum, the problem with being pulled into the street should have been improved with the latest update; not sure if there's really been a change.

According to their forum, the problem with being pulled into the street should have been improved with the latest update; not sure if there's really been a change.
Yesterday, when trying to get back to the tower to fight Grubb, the first time I was VERY VERY careful and made it to the tower without getting pulled into a street fight. The next two times I think I got a little careless and was pulled in (and chose to flee) and the fourth time I proceeded with a little more caution and made it back to Grubb again without a fight.
The rule of thumb that seemed to work for me was, if I saw a bad guy walking towards me, anywhere close to the sidewalk, I would stand still and let him pass before I proceeded.

I would think by now you'd know me better than that, Mims. I wouldn't say something that would come across offensive. I guess I need to clarify my first statement because I would do the "talk to this person then this person" quests and finally start going into battles, where I would get item rewards for Level 20+ (and not Level 25+, at least not right away). It was because I was 7 levels higher that made me feel that way.
And I'm not having a breeze of a time by any stretch. I will often ask friends who I know who have already been through Marleybone to help me attack some bosses. Just like you helped me with the Olde Town bullies! I'm willing to jump in and help if needed.
Oh, about those badges, I seem to be missing some. I have a blank badge area on the front page. I think that might be Wizard City Protector, because I don't have it and don't know why.
I didn't even know I could go to page 13 and find badges I never knew I had! Looks like I have to kill more spiders, "giants" (?) and "elementals" (???) to get a badge level. And those Golems in the tower? If you continue to kill them, I think there's another badge to earn.
I discovered the "kill this many somethings" with the Undead (not completed yet for me), the Gobblers, and the Kroks.

I wasn't having a problem with the pips and the cards but I was with the potion bottle. I started a new wizard - a death/myth - that I am having a lot of fun with. My other wizard is Life/storm. I only have one potion bottle for the death/myth wizard. I would play games to fill it and then when I needed it in battle, it would be empty!

Power Pips:
For me, I noticed that it seemed I was getting several power pips when I was in Wizard City, but when I went to Krok or Marleybones I didn't get as many pips (which is where I needed them, I don't need them too much in Wizard City lol).
Team Wizard play:
I (Life/Balance L29) mostly play with my DH (Myth/Balance L29), and as a team we're doing well.
I stopped getting Balance spells after the first three (Weakness, Scarab, and Scorpion). I use mostly just my Life spells because of the power pips (I do have Scorpion and Weakness in my deck, I removed Scarab). I do use Weakness often, since it uses zero pips. I also have a Ghoul pendant, that I really like to use (my DH has the Lightning Bats pendant that he likes to use). I now have, I think, five unused training points that I have no idea what I'm going to do with them lol.
We both try and obtain the most HP/MP that we can (mostly getting as much HP as we can). Does anyone have any reasons why we should be going for high defense (Shield), or high offense (Fist) instead? Or maybe a combo of HP/defense/offense?
Solo Wizard:
But I would also like to play solo, so is anyone here successfully playing solo? I assume that on occassion you may want or need help, but do you play solo most of the time? If so, what school major/minor are you? What is your strategy? Are you enjoying it? And any other information that you think may be helpful lol. Thanks!

I find that I'm playing solo the majority of the time. I do ask for help from time to time, but I felt pretty accomplished that I got through Freddy Nine Lives last night (and yes, they weren't kidding on THAT score!) by myself. I would full up some health wisps until my mana levels were low enough that I could just "potion up". I leveled up to 28 yesterday, too.
I'm a Life/Myth wizard, but I'm more loaded with Life spells than anything else. I have Kroktopia clothing still, as it has enough health/pips/power that I want. My athame is going towards health spell output, and my ring is going for pips. I think I'm at 36% pips. I have mostly fairies, a couple sprites, a sprite guardian minion, and a satyr I've kept in my deck. My minion and satyr are 4-pips, so I hesitate to use them at times. Oh, and my pendant is something I bought in Marleybone. I used to have the bats. Now I have the Guiding Light cards to boost health. When I had combined that with my satyr, it gives 1200+ health.
After I defeated Freddy, I got a new spell, a 5-pip card, Regeneration. It allegedly gives over 1100 health, 53 the first round and the rest over two other rounds. I put one of them in my deck but haven't tried it. I'm so curious to see it in action!
I find it difficult to figure out to keep shields, traps and blades in my deck. I never know what proportion to keep. I only have shields that keep out life, death and myth. I tend to get blasted by lots of fire and ice for some reason.
If I'm going to battle alongside any death or myth wizards, I will use my Spirit Trap on the bad guy, because I could use my life cards while they can use their myth or death cards on the same enemy and we'll all get the boost.
Enemies seem to attack me more than others. I will either give myself health, or if I'm ok, I'll try to give others health. It seems to work pretty well with teamwork.

Thanks for the info BriarRosie!
My HP is 1644 and I have a 2% Shield for all Schools. My MP is 194. Pips = 26% (I think this percentage is with a 3% boost, so without that I would only have 23%). I would like to increase my pip percentage, but I would have to sacrifice HP and I'm not sure if that would be a good idea.
I'm not too sure about the Shields in my deck either. I have one Spirit Armor, I like it, but it uses so many pips. I really like the Lifeblade, it really boosts Nature's Wrath and Seraph. Also I use the Weakness a lot because it makes the bad guys damage us less. I don't use Calm, Life Shield, Legend Shield, Life Trap, or Life Prism.
I haven't put the Satyr in my deck yet because he uses so many pips and is only 90%, right now I like my Fairy at two pips and 100%.
I currently have the Freddy Quest, but haven't started it yet (I don't think I can get to Chelsea Court yet lol). I would like to finish the quest, but from the sounds of it that spell uses too many pips for me lol.

I want to thank you and Cat again for helping me get through Conterweight East & West, and then getting me through Big Ben.
They were all 14 plus levels of bad guys to fight all in one sitting.
I am sorry I got a little upset with that kid yesterday in Big Ben.
Note to those attempting Big Ben: Make sure everyone on your team - and yes you need a team to get through it - knows that you are the one that has to do the lights on the floor for the puzzle.
This kid was helping us and he kept running around and lighting all the lights. I kept telling him to please stop and let me do it in the proper order or we would not advance to the next level of the quest. After about 15 minutes of pleading with him, cat finally got him distracted in a conversation long enough for me to shut off all the lights and then light them in the proper order.
I am so glad to be out of Marleybone, it was so tough running those rooftops without being caught in a battle.
I am having fun exploring Mooshu now, but if anyone needs help in a battle please let me know. I may not be good getting to the battles on Marleybone, but this level 37 fire/life wizard can help to knock out the bad guys once you get to the battle!
Thanks also to Cat for showing me how the "Wildfire" spell works, I really enjoy using it. The effects are so cool and it adds 25% to all fire spells anybody casts for the rest of the battle.
We also had another kid helping us the other day and he was getting mad at us for just throwing out shields instead of spells. Once we explained what we were doing he was ok with it.
When you get to the higher levels, you need to throw out your zero pip shields and spells, in order to get enough pips saved up to wipe them all out with a couple of rank 5 or 6 spells.
See you all in the game!

I would finally kill them both but before I could go turn on the obelisks in the right order, the boss would return to battle me again by herself. :scared1: This happened so many times, i lost count. It seemed like I was fizzling like crazy last night. At one point, even when I tried to cast a protection shield on myself (100% success rate), I was still fizzling.
Then, (and I know this isn't a bug, just me slipping up) I finally managed to succeed at beating all 3 bosses and solving the puzzles, and in going back to the main quest door, I accidentally brushed too close to the entrance and it kicked me back to Entrance Hall. Then, it wanted me to start the quest all over and battle the 3 bosses again. :sad1: I decided to quit for the night.

Well, I finally tried out the new spell I got for defeating Freddy Nine Lives.
Regenerate.
I will hereby officially call it:
The Finger of God. :rotfl2:
Seriously! It's hilarious! Of course it's a 5-pip spell, but boy, is it effective! Once you cast it, clouds form in the sky, and the Finger of God comes down to point his Healing Finger at you.
It's like having Sprite power on steroids. :rotfl2:
You get healed over three rounds, and let me tell you, I used it with the guiding light booster when I was really depleted, and I was back at full health very quickly.
I only wish others were around to see it. It was really cool to watch.

Any ice people out there. Ok I am at level 21 I was just wondering what level or quest do ice get blizzard magic or if they do. I have one training point and it says I can get it at level 22 but do not want to waste it. If I will be winning that spell. Thanks.
Right now I am buying gold cards cause I love it so much :)

Not an ice person but it looks like the Blizzard spell is earned at level 26. Spells within your main school do not require a training point -they are free once you have reached the required level.
btw - it looks like Ice Wyvern is your upcoming level 22 spell.

That spell sounds cool, can't wait to finish that quest (soon I hope lol)! By the way, what is your HP? I did a little rearranging last night, and got my pips to 29%. I was just wondering what your HP is, since I always feel I never have enough lol. Depending on what you have, I may rearrange some more lol. Thanks!
Belle:
I'm confused. You're an Ice Wizard? Why would you have to spend a training point on an Ice Spell. I just logged on and went to the Ice School, and it looks like you get the Blizzard spell at level 26.
Wow you're moving right along, Happy Wizarding!

Ah cause I did not understand how the spells count rofl. I was like I could get blizzard at 22. But was not sure how that work. Since it says level 22 is that for other schools or mine. Never sure rofl.
They should make that clear. I never knew about training points so the first few I used at my won school :(

I went up to Level 29 last night, but my pips are still 36%. I knew I moved stuff around, though. I bought the Bobby's Dirk last night to double the mana I already had (and keep the +5 health spell boost I had from another athame.) My HP is at 1511; MP at 150 now.
I've noticed that my Krokahmen Vestment still has beaten all the Marleybone clothing. It gives me 144 HP/+3 life strength/+4 life shields. Nothing comes close except the Level 30 item I can't wear yet, and that only gives me 154 HP. I'd rather keep the Krok clothing on because of the extra stuff. I have earned a "rainslicker" and "doctor's coat" that can't match that.
The only earned items in Marleybone I received that I found useful were athames, rings and a spell deck. I bought a new wand, amulet, and upgraded my athame. Otherwise I haven't really changed my look. ;)
I sell off everything from other schools that are power boosting or their school only.

Belle, your teacher is Lydia Greygoose, right? When you talk to her, all the spells should show "FREE" as the cost on the right side. It's only when you want to use training points on OTHER schools that you will see they cost 1 training point. How were you spending training points if Ice was your main school? Here's a rundown of what everyone's school titles mean:
When we started out as a Novice "something", we were:
Life = Theurgist
Myth = Conjurer
Death = Necromancer
Fire = Pyromancer
Ice = Thaumaturgist ?(can't recall the exact spelling)
Storm = Diviner
Balance = I want to say Sorcerer. Someone needs to help me out!
So if you're a Thaumaturge, you'd get free spells went you reach each level listed by your teacher. You'll get free spells next at Level 22 and then 26. I used my training points on Myth school, and some from the Krok sphinx area. But Moolinda always gave me free Life spells.

Yes, that's right. You are not able to use your training points within your own school, even if you want to. You only get to train on your schools spells when you reach the reguired level. If you did 'buy' spells with your training points it was with another school. I am a Thaumaturge (ice), I have choosen to use most of my training points in the Life school, so consider it my 'minor'.
So, Bell, you will have to wait for that Blizzard spell. Though I can see why you want it, I like having the ability to hit all the bad guys at once. It's problem is that it is four pips, so I have to wait until the pips build up for it. And then, of course, it fizzles.

I am currently working on Krokotopia and the only thing that I have not accomplished thus far in Wizard Citiy would be the Suken City part.

Does anyone have any tips on how to complete this?
It is very diffcult as you can get pulled into battles even on the sidewalks and you need to complete it all at once, and if you "die" you have to start all over :badpc:

Go in with a group.
Take turns leaving to go back to heal, fill potion extra. (Note- make sure at least one person of group is left to stay in the area, lol)
Helps to have only one person run the sidewalk to the next area. If they got sucked into a unnecessary sidewalk battle, they could flee and try again. Of course, many of the sidewalk battles are rigged as part of the quest, so you have to fight them to get to the next tower or check in place. Then the rest of the group can teleport to them when they reach the tower/spot safely.
Leave lots of time, 2hours or so. It has to be done in one long series, if you have to log off or like the server goes down, it resets.
I need it too. My other attempts have failed. Luckily it doesn't have anything to do with the rest of the storyline that I can tell, and I have been able to skip it.

And if you know, did you figure it out? It seems to have varying damage by type (Fire, storm, ice).

Balance is the secondary school for my Myth Wizard and I've already received Spectral Blast with a Training Point. I haven't been on the game yet today, so don't know if it's been changed or taken away -- but I certainly hope not. I use it fairly frequently.
To answer your second question: It causes either 440 in Fire Damage, 365 Ice Damage, or 550 Storm Damage. The type of damage it inflicts is random and you have no control over it. Also, each damage type is subject to the same shields, traps & boosts as other spells of that type. If, for example, a monster has up a Fire Shield and Spectral Blast opts to inflict Fire damage, your spell will be weakened as if it were a regular Fire spell. It can, therefore, occasionally be risky to use -- but it can also be very rewarding, especially the Storm Damage (which is on a level with the Storm school's Kraken spell).

To me sunken city is not worth the effort since I think you only get like 65 experience points. If they made it worth while for the amount of time and effort needed then I would do it. But 2 hours I think it should be farther on in the tasks or made easier :)

First thanks for the answers. Next time you get into Ravenswood, check out the number of spells available in Balance and Death. Balance appears to go only to 22; Death seems to go to only 16!!:confused3
If it stays that way (and is not a bug) then I am wasting my time with my Balance/Myth Combo. I would be better off with Storm/Myth or Myth/Storm.
Also, with my current Balance/Myth combo I am Level 14. Thought you got the Mander Minion  before then. It seems that you get your Troll Minion (of 1X, 2X, or 3X life levels) much earlier than that.
Now that you do not get one additional monster every time you use your Minion, they are very helpful in street fighting and I miss having one.
If you can afford to buy lots of Pixie treasure cards I now wonder if Myth/Storm might be the best way to go. Especially if you duel solo a lot.
What do you think?

I'm pretty sure you get the rest of your Balance school spells from the school located on Krokosphinx Island. The Spectral Bast should be in that school and costs 1 point. I don't know about the Death school spells, but I assume that is the same, once you've discovered the hidden schools, you would go to those for your next spells.

It's as Goofy05 says: You will find the remainder of Balance or Death spells at their actual Schools (as opposed to the NPC in Ravenwood). You should have access to either school long before you reach the level at which you'd get any of the "missing" spells.
Also, with my current Balance/Myth combo I am Level 14. Thought you got the Mander Minion  before then. It seems that you get your Troll Minion (of 1X, 2X, or 3X life levels) much earlier than that.
I don't know about Balance specifically, but I believe every school gets "special" spells and/or minions at level 18. Fire, I know, doesnt' receive a proper minion until Level 28, though they do get the quest for Heck Hound at level 18. And, yes, Myth gets several minions (Wood Puppet, Troll and Cyclops) well before the other schools.
If you can afford to buy lots of Pixie treasure cards I now wonder if Myth/Storm might be the best way to go. Especially if you duel solo a lot.
What do you think?
Everybody's style of play is different. Personally, I prefer having the more powerful school as my primary (so Power Pips can fuel the major spells). The Myth minions complicate that equation somewhat, however -- especially for those who like to solo, as having them by your side can be a real life-saver. However, by the time you reach Marleybone & Mooshu, even they don't provide enough support for most battles.
Myth/Storm or Storm/Myth would be interesting combos, since the game considers them "opposites" (like Fire/Ice and Life/Death). Often, if you attack creatures of one type with spells from the opposite school, you will get a damage boost.

Havent seen much discussion on mini games so was curious what you all were doing
I used to play sorcerer stones (still do from time to time because i enjoy it) but so much work for so little reward
I recnetly started playing hot shots, in 2 minutes or so, if i score at least 3 grand, I usually get 30 mana 20 gold an item and a treasure card
What games are you finding successful for mana returns and then some? :)

It's amazing though; I never thought I'd get this far. (Level 17 at the moment.) I find I'm enjoying the challenge, especially now that I understand how to use the shields, blades and traps. Maybe the wizard picker knows me better than I think!

Actually it seems that the game has a score threshold and pays out 'a full bottle' if you get past the threshold for the game. When I play about a minute of conjuration, I get a full bottle which is 328 mana. But I no longer play until I lose, I just play to get to a bit above 2000 points which I know will fill my potion bottle. Also you want to make sure that your mana globe is full before playing mini-game or else you'll end up with one of those 'nearly full' potion bottles that always seem a bit annoying to me.

To any ice people out there who have used these spells I am not sure what the create threat on target does. It seems if you are playing with more than yourself they miss a turn. But using the card with just me playing against two evil beasties I can not figure what it does.
I am also trying absorb. I noticed that it takes all my pips. And when I am hit no points get taken off me. Does it work each round for each pip it it took?
Thanks

I have come across a few Silver Chests, and have never won lol. I have only found them in Colossus Blvd.
Game premise: You have to create a connection from the "input" to the "output" (the lock) by moving the tiles around.
Prize: (from the Wizard101 forum) Someone there said, lots of Gold. I have lost and received gold, or gold and treasure card.
Some things I've found out from my few tries:
1. I find turning over all the tiles first help me (be quick about it lol!)
2. You swap an unwanted tile for one you need.
2. If there is an "X" tile, it's fixed and cannot be moved, you have to go around it.
3. Know where your start is and where the finish is, they change for a new game.
What I do NOT know (haven't had enough time to figure it out lol)
What's the importance of the different pieces? (My DH said the crooked pieces make the current slower, beats me).
Is there a specific "start" and "end" piece?

Every school will have different items available to them. Just look for the items [hats, robes, shoes, daggers, and rings] in either your backpack/bank or a store that show the highest numbers next to Red (Health) and Blue (Mana) crystal balls.
If you don't like the colors of the items or they're mismatched, go to the Dye Shop in Wizard City to change them to colors you prefer.
When you're buying hats, robes and shoes, you can usually change the color before making your purchase. Note that different color combos will cost different amounts (some more, some less).

Quest Help Needed:
Quest: Into The Map Room
Info: Explore Map Room Platform
Okay, so I see the platform and am in the room, but have done and tried everything I could possibly think of, but it will not count it as 'exploring' obviously. I have stood on the platform, jumped, everything! I have even walked around the whole room, but still nothing.
Am I missing something here?
Thanks in advance!
Luke there are some other posts on this but basically you talk to the guy in the room - GO AND KILL the princes, come back, go away again and kill something and finally you get the staff and come back - note that the first time you bring the staff it "wont work"
This is an instance which means you have to do ALL these steps in one session or start over again.
Good luck - took me a long time to do this one!

What works for me (95% of the time) is to stand back while the head comes up, make sure I'm centered and, when it's fully in place, head right for the middle.

We had not planned on going all the way through but I'm sure glad we did. As always, a pleasure to team with you both. I may not be on much today but will try to help other Disers where I can today so if I'm on your list and you see that I'm on, don't hesitate to call for some assistance. I totally give up - I need guidance!!
In the "Mything in Action" Quest for Myth school people, I have to find "Kenedy the Claw" and talk to him.
He is supposed to be in the warehouse. I have searched both OUTSIDE and inside the warehouse. I heard this was a "secret" door that I had to find - but I have gone over this area multiple times and no "secret" door (this is in Hyde Park).
Please if some advanced Myth Wizard could tell me where this guy is, I would really appreciate it.
ALSO - this is in Hyde Park as well, I am supposed to fine 'Patches O'Leary" - where the heck is he?
Neither of these guys is on the map - I have been in the derelict building and all the safehouses and in the warehouse and have fought all those guys, found the book, found the cat - HELP!!

It just so happens that Kenedy the Klaw and Patches are next door neighbors. ;)
Go to the warehouse that is located on the lower part of the map, past the spiders. Patches can be found inside the "instanced" entrance (where the glowing sigils are).
Kenedy the Klaw is inside the NON-instanced doorway, located to the immediate right of the other entrance (as you face it). Just run up to the door/wall there and you will be transported inside.
Hope that helps. Good luck!
Thanks so much that is a big help - especially as to Patches I have tried to run into that "other" door but it just would not open - I will try yet again, though, thanks for the encouragement.

Sometimes I wish I could have gotten THAT quest before I had to go through the darn thing. At least I got the book and cat last time I was in there.
Thanks to the myth wizards, I did get patches - I ran at EVERYTHING along all the walls of the warehouse - the other sliding door, the brick walls and nothing was alive or blue or anything. I know that lord barkley was wrongly listed in Hyde Park when he was really in Chelsea, but if Kenedy is next door to Patches, then that is definately Hyde Park.
Oh well, I will keep picking at it...

I did "Mything in Action" several weeks ago, and one of the reports I filed complained about the difficulty in finding Kenedy the Klaw. He most definitely was behind the sliding door next to Patches in Hyde Park. However, I can't recall anything about Lord Barkley in that quest. So it sounds like they may have adjusted it since I did it. :confused3

They have said that shouldn't happen again but you never know!
I just hope they fix the Mooshu bugs before then!
Based on what I have read and seen on the forums since the beginning, I predict the release will be this month. I believe that has been there intention most of the time, especially if you read the founder's interviews with the press.
However on a less depressing note.... (and this is not gossip)
- although I have not beat him, I FOUND Kenedy the Claw with all your help - he is in Chelsea (not Hyde Park), in an unmarked building at the end of an alley - it does have blue windows and is clearly "something" and has an obvious door, but it does not have circles or white lights, etc, to indicate it is a live place. He creamed me because I had just come from a side quest for two rotting fodders in Triton Lane so I had switched out my card decks - LOL all I had were one and two level spells. Yikes!
I was creamed spinach.
And Finally, THANKS SO MUCH to BriarRose and Cinderella Wanabee for the patient and persistent help with Ironworks - so glad to have my first run through there done and cat and book collected!! YAY!!!

The maintenance messages have used that "prepare for launch" language for several weeks now, so I wouldn't pin too much on it.
Based on what I have read and seen on the forums since the beginning, I predict the release will be this month. I believe that has been there intention most of the time, especially if you read the founder's interviews with the press.
I wouldn't count on it. There are still a number of small, persistent bugs throughout the first 3 worlds that need fixing (Krokopatra, the Tomb of the Beguiler, the Marleybone balloon rides, etc., etc.)
And that's not even talking about MooShu! There are bugs galore there, unfinished and missing quests everywhere, whole areas and buildings that are inaccessible, maps that are wrong, monsters that are misidentified, and serious play balance issues that need addressing. (And that, after all, is the reason we're there. I've been submitting bug report after bug report, as I'm sure most of the other players/testers have.)
The folks at KingIsle have done a bang-up job on this game so far. For that very reason, I can't see them releasing something that they know is not as close to perfect as it can reasonably be.
so is another clean sweep coming our way????
I don't know whether I'm being cynical or just realistic when I say that I fully expect there will be another one. In fact, I've already been giving some thought to the next wizard combo I might play....
Happy wizarding! :wizard:

It would also be nice to know if Kingsisle has the ability to move a character to a new account, but the thread I saw on that topic seemed to go unanswered last time I was able to find it on the Wizard forum. I have a Death/Life combo and really like it.. I started my first character as fire, but the fizzle rate was too high so I created a new one; I like this one much better. Between the health drain spells from my death school and the Life spells, I can keep myself healed pretty well. Also, the fizzle rates aren't too bad on either school.

Yesterday I started receiving a memory error when I launched Wizard 101. I clicked Ok and was able to get in and play. Then I started having issues every once in a while when I was Loading a new Location. The screen would freeze or the application would shut down completely. Then I started receiving a Direct3D (or something like that) error and the game wouldn't load at all. When I looked it up for support on the forums it said uninstall and reinstall. So I did that. Now it won't let me in the game at all. It starts the launch. It gives me a "Loading" message and then just freezes. I see no CPU usage and it stops at about 20,000 K Memory Usage. I was having problems before with it taking up 300,000K of memory before.
Also, before the uninstall I noticed that there were 4 folders in my Wizard 101 directory. Now I just see 3 - Patch Client, Bin and Data. The Patch Install folder is no longer there. I'm guessing because I am unable to Load it and get the patch.
Please help me to correct this issue or receive the right download or patches. I'm seriously suffering from withdrawl. :(

So it seems to me, at least from the survey I did the other day, that this is going to be a pay to play game. I hope they also have a play for free option like most other pay to play games, like POTC etc. because if I have to do all those quests and running around a third time they are going to have to pay ME!! lol For a card based game the "grind" in quite intense. I did suggest in the survey that they give us something else to do besides constant battling and running around, such as Alchemy to create our own spells, potions etc. sigh....

I tried to do a search on this forum for "Spells". I did the search at the top and tried "Wizard 101 spells". I found lots of interesting conversations on the topic, but not exactly what I was looking for.
I was wondering if people might be able to give me hints for some of the places (besides just the teachers) to find spells. I'm a level 20 with an extra training point and I can't get my spell in my minor (life) until I'm a level 22. I completed the Smith search, and I think that's why I am at a point where I have an extra.
Some of the outside sources are (trying to make these a little more vague so there's still a challenge):
* Shield Spells in the Commons (think Mana)
* Passify and Taunt Spells in Nightshade
* Myth Shield Spells in the Oasis (secret location)
Some of these have free spells once you get to a particular level, so they are worth looking for.
That's all that I know for sure, but I seem to remember passing by some more when I was doing the quests in Wizard City. I just can't remember where they were.
Thanks!

easy Question, i'm in the temple of storms. i beat son of storms once, and then the next part was to beat someone else , it said something about a test of puzzles [ i think it said somethin like that] anyway on the quest card it just had a question mark on it. What am i going to run into ? i have to start over with son of storms cause i had to go get some health juices an i'm wondering who or whats next.
Thanks

Try taking a boat ride in Krok, and enjoy the "Niles".
Do a little exploring in Colossus Blvd near Mindy Pixiecrown.

Yes, this is an instance area, you will have to do it again next time you go in.
After you pass the test of strength (3 or 4 monsters, one at the time), you have to pass a series of puzzles (3 i think). The first two are easy
- First, it's turn on the obelisks of things that live.
- Second, the moon must shine, not the sun. (you'll see pretty obvious)
The third one, I don't get it, but i know the answer. You have to turn on the lights properly for Storm. I can PM you the answer if you wish.
After you pass all the tests, you may proceed to fight the big boss. You might want to have at least one friend at that time. Btw, if you have to get health at that point, make sure you have a friend that stayed in, because you will have to wait for the instance to reset and do it all over again.
Also there used to be a bug with that boss, you wont be able to target it unless you use the 2D duel mode (or something like that). You will have to click on its name plate on top of the screen to be able to target it.
Sorry I am not more precise, i don't have access to the game right now.
Good Luck! :wizard:

Some of the outside sources are (trying to make these a little more vague so there's still a challenge):
* Shield Spells in the Commons (think Mana)
* Passify and Taunt Spells in Nightshade
* Myth Shield Spells in the Oasis (secret location)
Thanks!

Before I had my own log in problems and needed to uninstall and reinstall to get back into the game, I was able to get the shields from the Balance teacher in the Krokosphinx area. After my reinstall, and I went "down the ladder", I discovered that this teacher had ONLY regular Balance school spells from the very beginning (scarab...onward).
Do I have to visit the Balance tree to get the next shield spell? I was frustrated that I had a training point I wanted to use and couldn't find the shields anymore.
But the biggest problem I'm having:
I continue to lose game interface "textures" to the point that stuff overlaps and/or becomes "invisible" after a couple of battles (or one really big battle). When I close the window and reboot the game, it will send me back to the location I just left, restoring my textures temporarily.
I've reported this bug a couple of times without getting any solution to it. Is this happening to anyone else? And yes, I've set my screen graphics to "low" and textures to "low".

I am not from Balance school, so i don't know for sure, but you probably have to go to the tree for the shields.
Did you report your bug in game or to in the support site? I had good feedback from the support site when I had problems. The support link is on the game's login screen (not the web site) at the end of the news window (scroll down). They will probably ask you to run a DirectX diagnostic and send them the result. They usually answer in 24 to 48 hours.
I hope your problem can be fix soon, good luck!

Just wondering if there is another day and time that people would be interested in for next time. Anyway for this week let's try:
What: Dis Wizard Meet
Where: around the lake of the Commons area in Falmea, Area 1
When: Thursday, Aug 7th at 9 pm eastern
Hope to see you there.
Any ideas on how to help with the crowding/overlap issues. Aengus had mentioned certain groups in the water and others on land. Any other ideas? Something I thought of was maybe leaving the pets at home. This would help since their names wouldn't be in the way.

I did suggest in the survey that they give us something else to do besides constant battling and running around, such as Alchemy to create our own spells, potions etc. sigh....I agree. The grinding may seem like par for the course to a lot of players, but I find running back and forth pretty wearisome. It's not the battles that get to me; I actually enjoy those now. I wouldn't even mind getting defeated if it didn't take so long to get back to where I need to be.
They have done such a beautiful job designing the non-combat locations; it seems a shame that there's not really a reason to just hang out there. (I would love to have a party inside the Wizard City portal room!) The "dorms" are disappointing. When I first read about this game, I couldn't help envisioning personal spaces connected to a central room for each school, in the fashion of *ahem* the wizard academy in a certain series of books.

Count me in. I started another wizard. Friends don't transfer. I am going to
need some DIS friends to help me in the KROK finals. (And Marleybone if they
don't launch this month).
Launched my new wizard (myth/storm) with an old name and new talents.
I miss my DIS friends. (Especially Padic The Brave).

Hey cat, I think the pets idea is excellent and my suggestion was the people who arrive for the first time ever maybe shoudl be in the middle of the lake. Then we could add them, rather than have them run around to each person and do the adding.
Also, Pete pointed out last time he didnt notice the meet because it was burried in here. Maybe you could start a new post on the topic "wizard meet on 7/7" or something similar.
oh and where did you get that costume again? :rotfl:

I just reached level 20 and gained a training point, but it seems I cannot use it until level 22. :confused3 (I've been spending all of my training points in my secondary school; Myth.) Do any of you Storm wizards know if I'll receive an additional point at level 22, or is this it? If it's a bonus point, I'm guessing I could use it with one of the "hidden" trainers, unless it would be wiser to wait until later to choose something.
Aside from the beetles, (and Grubb), the Map Room quest in the Throne Room is the only direction I can go right now. I'm assuming I can't get on the boat or go anywhere else until it's done; is that correct?

Hi,
You will get another point at level 25 if i remember correctly. I don't know any "hidden" trainers in Marleybone (someone correct me if i am wrong), so i guess i that point you should know all the hidden trainers.
Yes, after the map room you can get on the boat. If you do the map room as a team, don't forget to go on the map plateform yourself at the end, this task cannot be completed by a teammate. If you forget, you have to do it all over again.
Good luck! :wizard:

We found with map room that it was best for the team member doing the quest to go back to the professor and platform alone (rest of us waited outside map room) to ensure the questor got the credit.
There one hidden trainers in Marleybone. It in the Digmoore Station. You can find it behind the mayor of Marleybone and then go downstairs. :)

I've been trying to do everything solo so far, but if the Map Room quest isn't possible to complete without assistance, I'd be very happy to have help with it, Tink. I'm assuming that involves you teleporting to my location?
If nothing else, I can finally get you on my list if you're still there! I was going to take a break but can get back on; let me know.
