Vent about the codes

Ok people are probably getting sick of me on here talking about the codes but rest assured I am driving myself nuts here too!!!!!
I called using that CGK code asking if I could use that for the Dates that I already have booked 5/2-5/10. I can't change my dates as I already have plane tickets. She said no that code is only for the dates starting in June through August. Ok this is what I figured so that is fine. But when I asked if there was any kind of deal for the times I am going she said that I needed to check my info because she never even heard of the above code, that it doesn't come from Disney and she didn't know where I was getting my info. Maybe it didn't come from Disney but she had already said that she knew about it.
My DH had called on Wednesday and they said that one code was released on 3/31 and the national sale would get released on 4/7 which is consistent with what mousesavers say.
I don't mean to vent and please don't flame me. I am not trying to get something for nothing but I am paying $99+ a night for ASMu while others are paying less for moderates. I know I picked that time of year but it was when we could go.
Does anyone who doesn't have AAA/DC/DVC/a postcard get a sale?

HI, I know how you feel. We booked with travel agent 2 weeks ago with out codes. Now the codes come out. I called yesterday 1 operater said all sold out for WL with codes no rooms. I hung up tried again and next operater said sure it is available which room would you prefer? I used the codes booked with them. Luckily we got insurance with travel agent. We lose 250 dollars but made up more throught the codes.

I am very glad for you though!!! It is such a nice feeling when you get a deal! More to spend on something else!
It is just so frustrating that you can get conflicting messages from different people.

heath dog, the rule of thumb when calling CRO is if you don't like what they tell you, hang up and call back. So many times we DISers know more than the CRO agent. 9 times out of 10, the next person can get you exactly the reservation you want.
Your traveling in May is probably the problem unfortunately. I believe the codes for that timeframe had to be booked by March 17. If you are paying more for ASMu than moderates, why don't you switch to a moderate for a little more space, a little better location and a littlle less money? Can't hurt to ask. Hi,

The code that was valid for through 06/22 has expired. I believe travel had to be booked by the middle of March. This code that just came out is valid from the time the first code expired 06/23 through 08/24. I think you might just be a victim of bad timing. I wish you luck on trying to get a discounted rate.

I just checked for you. There isn't anything without a membership to something.

currently you are paying at the All Stars 8 nights $887.04

If you purchase a Disneyclub card for $39.99
The same room at the all stars would be $754.88
(a savings of $132.16 - $39.99cost of card =$92.17 savings

The Caribbean Beach is available for $1163.26 with the disney club discount

It would be in your best interest to get a disney club card for the savings. That is the only thing that you will find this close to your dates.

To get a card you can call 800-933-3975 and they can give you the number over the phone then you can call Disney and adjust your reservation.

Just out of curiousity........I went to the Disney web site and plugged in a few different dates for the "Spring Special" that is for April.......here is some of what I came up with:
These are the prices it quoted me on the site!

Now it is a package with UPH which includes water parks etc.

For a 4 night stay, 2 adults and one 11 yo.......price for a moderate (which is supposed to be the value price but you would be in a moderate) ....$335/night or $1343 total.
So......A 5 day park hopper plus would be $247 regular price, leaving the room to cost $150/night......maybe I am missing something here, but no savings here.

For a 10 night stay, 2 adults and one 11 yo......price would be $253/night or $2530 total. Now if you purchased a premium AP...that would be $1407 for the passes.....costing $1123 or $112/night for the room....this is for CSR, the only one available. So that seems a good deal there. BUT ......IS IT REALLY????

For a delux.....only one available was WL standard.....
For the 4 night.....$417/night or $1668 total......Subtract the cost of passes....Works out to $231/night ....isn't that more than the rack rate????What am I missing here????

For the 10 night stay......$333/night or 3330 total.....minus the passes.......$192/night?????

I think either I did the math wrong or this is NOT much of a deal.

PS.....it did say to select the moderate and get the "value rate" or select the delux and get the "moderate rate"

The prices of passes on the pkgs are for Ultimate park hoppers and not 5 day park hopper plus.
5 day park hopper plus with tax is $261.84 adult/ $208.83 child

These are the rates for the Ultimate park hoppers
4 night/5day $263.94 adult /$210.94 child ages 3-9
pkg price $335 per night x 4 nts=1340
1340- 791.82(tickets)=548.18 /4nts=$137.05 per night for the room during peak time.
**Regular room rate for peak time at a moderate is $199.80 with tax, so yes it is a good deal if you don't have anything else that will give you a discount.

You have to remember that the prices quoted are with the passes. You cannot get those in room only for the april special.

Ultimate park hopper for 10nights/11days
$460 adult / $364 child

*Deluxe resort WL -4nights
Pkg price is 1668.00 -791.82(tickets)=876.18/4nts=$219.05 per night for the room
**Regular rate for the deluxe during peak season is $304.14 per night including tax

Did you check with your travel agent to see if they could have changed the reservation instead of cancelling?

HEATH DOG -- here's a little WARNING based on personal experience -- the DC card can take TWO MONTHS to get to you and they ONLY send it through the mail. There is no way to expedite this and sometimes they will fail to mention it to you until AFTER you've bought the card!

I can empathize with you about not being able to get a deal while everyone else around you seems to be going to WDW for next to nothing!

I ordered my Disney Card via the web 5 weeks ago and am still waiting for my welcome package. They did email me the number the day after I ordered so I was able to make reservations, etc using it. I called to ask about status of delivery and they said their card supplier had a problem and it was holding things up. However they promised if I didn't receive my card 4 days before my departure date to call again and they would see that I had something in my hands by the time I left.

I'm crossing my fingers.

heath dog - if it makes you feel any better, it looks like I'm the product of bad timing also, but I can blame it all on my DH. When the CIF codes came out I kept trying to sell him on conceirge. I begged and pleaded and he said NO WAY! Well, Thursday he decided that he wanted to do conceirge after all, but the discount has expired for our first two nights. Now we're stuck with GV for the 1st two nights and GV conceirge for the next two. I know, rough life, but still I could just kill him.:rolleyes:

ok I was thinking of tomorrow calling and getting the disney club member ship. My only other question is when are you needed to present it? I understand from the posts that you receive the number right away and can make reservations but do you need it for the trip. I only have 3 weeks so I don't know if this helps me or not.
I understand that you can use the card to receive a discount on your hoppers but when do you purchase these? We usually buy these at our disney store but it is an hour away and we were just going to buy them at the resort, is that still possible without the dc card?
And one more question,(hopefully) where do I purchase Disney Quest tickets at?

If you have your membership number, you can get the discount on rooms and tickets and everything else you would get discounts on with the card. It's nicer to have the card, but the number alone would work, we had to do that the last time we went.

One thing that I should mention is that you might want to check on the resort for DC discounts b/4 you get the card. They only have a certain number of rooms available for each discount and once they are gone, it doesn't matter what you have. For instance, I called for DC discounts on Polynesian in June and they said the only thing they had available for a discount was LV conceirge and LV standard.

I don't know about DQ tickets, we purchased ours online, but it might be too short notice for you. I'm sure you can get them at the door when you get to PI. We need a few more and that's what I plan to do.

josierac.....I see I made a small error in my math.....forgot to add the tax on to the price of the tickets.....Thanks for correcting me. :)

But why would you get a UPH pass when a 5 day hopper never expires and if something happens & you can't go on one day.....etc.
Also, the PAP is the same price....so why get a UPH for any trip over 8 days.?? especially if it might give you a discount and/or plan another trip.

But still......Moderate at $130 is not that great.
and the only available delux was WL standard and yes that is a savings of $80 per night.

I see that if someone was really stuck with the dates, and could not go the following week instead.....then this would be better than nothing.

You can check in with just the number? I was told I would have to have the DC card with me, which is why I didn't buy it (I was three weeks away from my check-in date when I called the DC people and tried to order it) and paid rack rate!!!

You can't check without the number. At least that is what three different people told me each time I called this morning.
I risked it and ordered the card hoping that they will adjust my room that I already have ressies for. I leave on the 2nd so I am hoping that the card will come by then. The lady said that the problems they were having in March with the cards being delayed has been solved and she thinks that I will receive the card by them. Otherwise I have to ask each place I go to if they will accept the number without having a card. They can call and verify for you too I guess.
I guess I am preparing for the worst (that they won't discount my ressie because all their discounted rooms are booked) and that way I won't be disappointed.
If I do get the discount, does that mean the discounted rooms are the furthest from the main hall at the ALL Stars?
But I wanted to thank everyone for the great advice and support that you all gave me!!!!! You guys will never know how much you helped!!
