View Full Version : What to do with camcorder when at beaches?
I would like to bring the camcorder but wonder where it would be safe while we're off snorkeling at Trunk Bay or at a beach in St. Maarten? Are there lockers for rent along with beach chairs?
Your camera and beach things should be very safe just left at your chairs/umbrella. Or if you feel the need to have them watched, take turns in and out of the water with your family/spouse.
There are showers on the main pathway but I don't recall any lockers. Remember the ship is just a short tramride away so you coukld also get your video/pictures, then have the family watch the chairs and shuttle the equipment back to the ship.
When we were at CC we just brought an underwater disposable with us.
(The Video camera had a problem adjusting to the humidity and would not work)

Two points: first, what is the point of bringing a camcorder to the beach if it is locked up somewhere the whole time? Do what I did: get a 100% waterproof splashcaddy bag (http://www.splashcaddy.com) which will allow you to keep the camera with you at all times. That not only gives you 100% security, it means you won't miss those great video opportunities that come up whenever.
Secondly, if you want really good snorkeling, skip Trunk, The reefs there are in bad shape (from damage from so many "snorkeling 101" types).
