I never seem to stop finding the term "stinkeye" the funniest thing I've ever heard.

Bichon love!

That's a beautiful ring. I'm not into diamonds, so I love how the sapphire is the central focus.

:rotfl:

The pup is actually a mutt! I should totally just start saying he's a Bichon, since that is what everyone thinks he is! He is actually an adorable mix of Lhasa Apso/Cocker Spaniel/Poodle. 10 pounds of pure fluff and love.

And THANK YOU for the ring compliment!! I'm just not really into ginormous diamonds. So many people think it's weird...and some people have even assumed it isn't an engagement ring! :confused3

First of all- Your story is absolutely hilarious and wonderful!!! I love it and can't wait to see more!

Second- What a GORGEOUS location! And what a deal! It's just amazing what you can find when you shop around! :thumbsup2

Also- your ring is beautiful; it's so different! It reminds me of a lot of the antique rings my oma has!

Good luck planning and I can't wait to read more! :hippie:

Hi Rachel!!!!!!!!! Loving this already!!!!!!!!!!! The location is gorgeous and all the dresses you picked will work out great.....My favorite is number 3..it's whimsical just like your location..the first 2 are nice too, they remind me of a goddess.I totally see you in number 3. The jewelry is fab. Love it!!

What one are you leaning towards??

Unfortunately...no. They are all from David's Bridal..and they are online only. A lot of their online only dresses are in the stores as bridesmaid dresses, but out of my choices, only #3. :worried: Although I suppose I could just go and look for similar styles... hmmm....

I'm so happy you like it!! After seeing yours and everyone elses' AMAZING weddings... my plans sorta felt like small potatoes.

But they'll be good for me! :)

I'm strongly leaning towards #3...with #1 and #4 fighting for second.

Do you think my necklace would work with those necklines? I'm worried the necklace might be too much with the beading on #3.... :confused3

Ah! I posted before I saw the dresses!

My vote is for number 3! The empire waist is so flattering on just about every body type, the neckline is a little more modest then the others (but hey, if you want to show off the girls...!), and it's long and flowy like a wedding dress ought to be!

The jewelery is beautiful! I love the touches of sapphire in your necklace- how will it not match your dress? Just use a few more sapphire touches here and there!

Lovely stuff! :goodvibes

Yea I'm definitely thinking #3 will be the most forgiving, especially if I don't lose as much weight as I'd like to (right now I'm halfway to my goal). Although I'd still probably order a 12 just to be safe...

And about the girls... :rotfl2: While I'm sure Ryan wouldn't mind...I enjoy a bit of modesty.

I'm concerned the necklace is too intricate and "HEY BIG NECKLACE" for a dress with a bunch of beading. I feel like the dress should be totally plain to wear a necklace like that...

I'm a definite necklace gal though. I love wearing unique pieces, so I'd like to wear SOMETHING fun. But my heart wouldn't be broken if it wasn't that necklace. I definitely want Carrie's advice!! I saw her necklace and immediately thought, "I LIKEY I LOVEY I WANTEY!!!" :rotfl:

You could always do a more conservative necklace for the ceremony and the Big Necklace of Awesome for the reception! Maybe you could do some flowers in your hair to kind of tie the flower on the necklace in with your overall look?

Just ideas- I love unique pieces like that!

I love, love, LOVE #3, with #4 being a close second. I've read that dresses like #4 are considered perfect for tea/garden-type weddings.

I also love the jewelry. If the dress is softly stated, you can go nutty with jewelry. Whatever your heart desires. :)

Ok....so to get a "taste" of a couple different styles...I ordered 2 of the dresses from online. I ordered #3 and #4. I wanted to try the shorter dress to see if it was working for me.

And now I just realized I ordered them both in ivory, when I probably should have ordered one in white...oops.

I'll be able to try on my necklace with the dresses...and if I absolutely fall in love with a dress, but the necklace is a bit too much, I've already started thinking of re-design options. So it may not be the Big Necklace of Awesome, but hopefully it would be the Not-Quite-So-Big Necklace of Awesome.

Leu Gardens is a beautiful choice, I live really close to there. Have you been there in person? It's gorgeous, you'll love it!

I like dress #3 the best, although I love them all. Have you checked out Nicole Miller's bridal line? She has a lot of bridal gowns that are a similar style - flowy, grecian, not overly princess-y or puffy. That's actually where I got my dress. Some of her dresses can be pretty pricey though, but there are occasionally good deals to be had, esp on eBay.

Looking forward to following your PJ!

Oooooh yay!! No, I haven't been there in person, and I won't even be able to see it before the wedding! I live in MN and won't be able to get down there...I am totally trusting my wedding coordinator. :bitelip:

I had a brief freak-out when Jennifer (jennifaerie) commented, "I hope everything is in bloom!" Upon reading this, I yelled at Ryan (sitting at his computer), "OHMYGAWD LOOK UP FLORIDA FLOWERS IN JANUARY!!! LOOK UP FLOWERS IN JANUARY!!!" It seriously never even occurred to me that things might not be in bloom! :scared1: I live in Minnesota---I assume that while everything here is cold and dead for 9 months out of the year, the south lives in perpetual summer! To my ENORMOUS relief, lots of pretty flower pictures of Florida in January. :woohoo:

Yeah, different things seem to be blooming at all different times of year here, so you'll be fine. One word of warning though - weather in January can be extremely fickle. It can be 78 and sunny or we'll have occasional cold snaps where it will be 45 and windy. Not to scare you, just wanted you to know, since I know a lot of notherners (myself included) expect Central Florida to be hot and sunny year-round...and most of the time it is...but like I said, there are occasional cold snaps between November and March that can really surprise you. On the bright side, you don't have to worry about the intense humidity of August. HTH! But you can just put a good pair of hater-blockers and plan for sunshine. :cool2:

First off, I love your frames! I suppose I'm a little biased... ;)

I honestly thought the white pictures were the ivory.

If your hair is going to be lighter for the ceremony, you may want to stick with white. But I honestly don't think ivory would made you blend too much.

I'd think about the jewelry, your theme, the setting of where you're getting married, how informal/formal you want it to be if you don't have a preference of one or the other.

They're both equally beautiful! :)

Oh lordy - I can't tell the difference between the white and the ivory! :rotfl: Go with whichever one doesn't make you look sallow/pinkish, sez I! Unless you have people coming to your wedding who still go for all that business about who's "allowed" to wear white and what it "means" if you wear ivory, in which case, select according to your badness level! :stitch2:

Also, after all this talk about my necklace (), I have to say I like both necklaces and how different they are. How big are they? Can we see pix of them on with the dress? :hyper:

P.S. You will definitely rock either necklace!

First of all, I love the new necklace, but I'm still IN LOVE with the originial, seriously, I'm thinking about asking it out on a date.

Second, I love the dress, and I can't tell the difference in the color either! I love it on you, it complements your body type perfectly. I'm also 5' (5' and a 1/2 " btw.) so I understand the height thing! I ADORE your hair... it's super cute. I've been growing mine out for the wedding, so I told FI that the second we get home from the HM I'm chopping it all off!

As for the dresses... Isn't it crazy how they look EXACTLY the same in pictures??!! It is making the decision so much harder! It's more obvious in person, but even then I can't decide which is better. The main reason I'm leaning towards white is because the necklace flowers are white--so they would match perfectly.

I haven't received the new necklace in the mail yet--but it has shipped, and I am guessing it shall be in my hands tomorrow. The flowers are actually smaller than I was expecting--only a bit bigger than an inch across. Once I am able to compare--pictures will follow!! :goodvibes

I think you girls are right about matching it to the necklace. That is what I originally fell in love with, after all. Regardless, I will probably try on the dresses 80 more times before deciding... :rotfl: But I think I figured out why I'm having a tough time. I like the color white better on the dress....but I'm worried ivory is actually better for my skin. Haha, this is pretty much my schedule too -- except insert 'feed kitties' instead of let dog out. :)

I vote white too -- there's not too many times in a womans life when wearing an all white dress is acceptable and/or practical. :rotfl: Plus, the matching necklace is a must. Also, I have to say - I don't think you should go back to blonde, I think your haircolor compliments your face and skin tone nicely -- and then we really wouldn't be hair twins, would we? :rotfl2:

I didn't even think of that!!! What a horrible hair twin I am!! :rotfl2:

That is a good thought though... My paleness does seem to POP more when I'm blonde. It just doesn't seem right that my natural hair color makes me look transparent. :confused3 If I do go lighter, I would still keep a lot of brown, but just add a few more blonde highlights. Don't panic yet!

Only panic about things you can control, and you can't control the change. But you can control how things work out with leaving Michele and switching over to Lorraine.

Why don't you express your worries with Michele? She can then, in turn, make sure that Lorraine helps accommodate you as best as possible?

Sometimes these changes can take place overnight, so it may have been that they didn't know or weren't allowed to speak of it until it was in stone.

 It is going to be okay!

alissa2008

Also, if you still find yourself uncomfy with the change, I would demand that your contract was with planner X and not planner Y and that you should be refunded your deposit. Before making this drastic demand, however, I would make sure you can book with another event coordinator...:confused3

I'm so sorry you have been thrown this curve ball!!! Why don't you go over your reasons for NOT choosing this particular company and talk to your planner about them. Also- typically when businesses go out of business they don't advertise it because they don't want to lose any more profits than necessary. That's why one day a restaurant is open and the next they are not. A lot of times even employees don't know about it ahead of time. I think the only exception is when a lot of merchandise needs to be sold. Good luck with your next decisions!

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to let you all know I decided to stop the PJ here. I figure it's best to just stick to general questions and stuff. I am continuing my PJ at a different site, so if you still want to follow it (and I would LOVE it if you do!!!), PM me and I'll give you the link!

I'm not going anywhere--still love the DIS. Just decided I didn't want to share SO much personal info on such a public site.

Thanks for reading along so far!! :goodvibes
