Was just going to book the car with Airline Network - noticed they want to charge over £10 for using a credit card!!

That's outrageous - especially as I have to pay in full now and we don't go till December.

Rant over!!

Have you tried USrentacar?
I have used Airnet for about 17 rentals until this Easter. They just got too expensive.
USrentacar also do Dollar which is usually cheaper than Airnet but also do Budget who have offer of free upgrade, works out £80 cheaper than Dollar for our August trip so probably trying them.
Only £50 deposit, balance 8 weeks out.

Alot of companies now pass on the credit card charge to the customer for the fees that the CC companies are charging them so it is not surprising really. You could always use a debit card free of charge.

Did check USrentacar but they were slightly more expensive - we were looking at a jeep Cherokee for 20 nights - with the c/c airnet were £541 approx & US £550.

Will have to use debit card then!

Just tried them for our 24 nights in August full size with Platinum £500.25. USrentacar £414. No good for us unfortunately.

Usrentacar will match a price, you fill out the price promise page and they will try and match it. So they should give you the jeep for the price without the cc charge.

wayneg did you call them out of interest ? I could not get any joy from the website it kept coming back as unavailable for me so I phoned and they said and I quote "our web site is rubbish, we are launching a new one this month"

Just thought it was worth a shot as every little bit counts.

Thanks Hazel, our current web site is indeed unreliable at best :-(( We have a super all singing all dancing site launching in a couple of weeks.

I cannot configure the old site to take into account upgrades etc. Budget currently have a complimentary upgrade from Intermediate to Full size so I suspect this is the £414 price you quoted, our current rate for that car is about £15 cheaper at £399 but I am not trying to solicit business here, just letting you know why my RUBBISH web site is telling you £500 which is a big difference :-))

Thanks Hazel and Tim, will wait for new website hopefully up and running before we book, don't go until 1st August.

Never booked anything to do with travel over the phone, I would rather pay a few £ more and do online. I want to be 100% certain I have everything correct and any faults are my own not someone on the other end of the phone getting it wrong.

Tim I am sure if you can get the right rates and a good website your business will skyrocket, I spend approx 8 weeks a year in US, My Brother goes to Vegas evey 2 months plus other members of family go often. Not one of us will book via phone, I am sure there are many many more. Good luck with it.
