Well, I guess since I have been harassing you all with questions it’s time to start a PJ of my own…you know so that I can harass you with more questions. :rotfl: So here goes.
My name is Ashley and I’m a music teacher and my DF is Dave he works in the family business. Looking quite cute while he does it if I do say so myself!! http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk18/arichards251/Daveyworking.jpg
How we met:
I was a senior in high school, coming out of a weird/bad relationship and he was 20 and very shy. We met on a blind date, which I did not know we were on and I was pretty mean to Dave, because he seriously said two words for the whole date and I was completely clueless as to why he wanted my number at the end of the night, but I gave in and gave it to him. He proceeded to chase me while I tried my best to get rid of him for about a year. :moped: Needless to say, he won (as he still usually does). :) That was 6 ½ years ago! We now have house near both of our works and have a wonderful, sweet, adorable little girl who we love. Her name is Sadie and she’s a bit hairy but we sure love her. She’s a german-shepard/border collie mix. And she’s not very smart. But we love her anyways. pluto: I really wanted to have her come to the wedding, but DF said No. But that’s probably for the best because she pees everywhere!
The proposal:
Not very romantic but very reminiscent of us. We went to Disney in December ’08. I knew it was coming, but he had been hinting that he was going to do it for about 8 months (very mean!) He told me I would be getting a sparkly round gift on our trip…gee I wonder what it could be. We were there for 5 days and we did the most romantic, but awkward things the whole time!! Private boat ride…silent and sweating DF:confused3 . 3 Romantic Dinners…silent and sweating DF:confused3 . Awkward random stops in the parks…silent and sweating DF:confused3 . Last night: Romantic Lunch-Wonderful Dinner at Jiko-Private Carriage ride at WL…you guessed it, silent and sweating DF:confused3 !!! Then FINALLY, on our balcony overlooking the savanna just before I was ready to go to sleep, because we had an early morning flight he asked! Needless to say I wasn’t shocked but ecstatic!! It was perfect for us, because, aside from this board which I’ve become addicted to…we keep to ourselves a lot!
Coming next wedding details…

So…we decided to wait until my senior year of college of to get married::yes:: , and then to wait until I graduated.. :( then to wait until I got teaching job…:worried: then to wait until I got a permanent job…then to wait until my sister’s wedding was over…:furious: then enough was enough and I promptly told my brother he would have to wait until mine was over to get married. Between the proposal and the engagement are you seeing a trend here? Right away We decided it would be a Disney Wedding (much to my mother’s dismay) and booked the Wedding Pavilion…then today, we decide to change it to see Sea breeze Point (again with the trend ;) ).
 So it’s official Sea Breeze Point on January 20th at 2:30. SuperYeah!!
Here’s a quick run down of what we know.
WC: Kathleen-so far so good we’ve only had her for about 12 hours and already she’s made several changes and suggestions. Has anyone had Kathleen was she as great as she seems like she’s going to be?
Photography: DPS-requested Paul Looper won’t know for a while yet, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed.
Hair and Make-Up: I’m going to do my own make-up and maybe use Model in a Bottle, I saw that LurkyLoo used it, does anyone know is it sticky or anything? As for hair I’m not sure…I’m kind of picky, but won’t be doing a run through so I’m open to suggestions.
Officiant: Can’t decide between Tim Herring and Kevin Knox, what do you all think?:confused3
Dessert Party: Morocco
MOH: Supposed to be my sister, but she joined the army last month so she may not be there. I’m super proud of her but not doing a good job of hiding my disappointment about her more than likely absence from my big day. :worried: As a back up I have my aunt who has been a 2nd mom to me and actually raised my sister, but I really wanted my sissy!!
BM: Dave’s Best Friend Eric
Also I have a complicated Parent Situation which I’m sure I’ll need advice about later…
Colors: French Vanilla and Heather and maybe something to compliment, not sure yet
No BM dress yet because of the sister sitch, but here is my dress: It’s not white, it’s French vanilla and heather and the veil matches and all of the heather is sparkly!!!!!
Had to delete the dress pic, DF now has access!
The guys are going to buy new suits for the wedding so that we don’t have to bother with Tux Rentals.
Also as of right now our list is right at 20, but we have about 10 maybes. (Which by the way is frustrating me a lot!)
That’s about it for now. I would love any advice or input, because I’m the most indecisive person in the whole world. We’re still deciding where to have dinner, hopefully somewhere in Epcot, because DF is getting grumpy about all the moving around.
Did anyone else choose to have an escape because it was “so simple and easy” and then go off the wedding deep end as I have done!!!

I loved the "silent and sweating" parts! :rotfl: That reminds me of our trips to Disney. Mostly because he has asthma and ADD, so there's a lot of silence.
And of course, a lot of sweating! :rotfl:

AKL?! Jealous!! :goodvibes We'll be at OKW. We were thinking about AKL, but my parents told us with their DVC we could stay at OKW in a bigger room twice as long. What can I say, I'm greedy when it comes to Disney!! :rotfl:

Trust me if we could stay longer we would be staying somewhere less expensive. Since I've only been in my SD for 1 year, I only have 3 personal days. On the plus side, my FMIL graciously offered to pay for everything for our honeymoon!! I feel so lucky everyday to have her!!

So...today, I booked Rev. Kevin Knox for our ceremony!! Did anyone else use him what did you think? We chose him mainly because he offers so much information (planning kit with sample ceremonies, FL license documents, name change documents, and more). Also in my e-mail comunication he was fast and personable.:)
We also booked Beute Special, I only booked 5 hair, but I think I'm going to go back and add make-up. I'm pretty picky about my make-up and have never had someone do it for me. Anyone else use them? Did you look like you? :confused3
And finally I booked Carolyn Allens for dress steaming! I'm probably going to have a cape, do you think it will need steamed?:)
And finally, I went over all the details today with my mom!! She is super helpful and always has great and thoughtful imput! :woohoo: Go Mom!:woohoo: Give a shout out if your mom rocks too!!:cool1:

Thanks everyone for following along! I've invited my dad. We have kind of a wierd relationship, so this was kind of a big step. I want to give him all the information I can so that maybe he'll actually show up. So...On with the questions...Do escape guest get discounts on resort stays or only on park tix? Thanks girls, you all are the best!! Also, is there anyway I can sign all my guests up for the informational DVD's, or do you only get those when you book? More to come later tonight, you know actual planning, not just questions!! LOL!

I'm not sure about resort stay discounts, I think all of my guests are staying offsite. :( And, I think they have to individually order the DVDs off the website -- but you can surely send an email with a link on how to do it (I know it asks for your address and birthday, so I had some trouble when trying to sign some people up to get it -- plus I didn't want to assume it was ok to give our their addresses...you know? :confused3)

I didn't hear from floral until about 4 months before the wedding, and yes, I did my form first. I think that's how they normally work that for Escape Brides. We ordered the planning DVD's for DH"s family online and we made sure that everyone knew they could get AAA room discounts since there were no wedding discounts. Most of our guests stayed off property.

I talked to Rosie, who is the Escape flower lady. She is the nicest, sweetest preson, ever! Love her! Anyway, I started asking floral questions to my WC and within the week i was setting up a phone appointment with Rosie! We've spoken about 3 times so far for about an hour each... yes, I'm OCD about my floral and photography. She also set's up the DPS times and upgrades. So if you're not using an outside vendor, she's your gal!

Yeah!!! We got our annual passes in the mail today!!!
We also got our original contract back, although it doesn’t mean much b/c we changed to SBP and added a dessert party the day we got our new planner. Kathleen rocks!! I e-mailed her all my questions about floral stuff and she said I should hear from the later this week!! What does that mean. I'm sitting here all day waiting!! I wish she had said you will hear from Rosie at 2:15pm and 17 seconds on Thursday. I seriously have no life this summer and have nothing better to do than sit and wait. I'm going nuts!!!
We also have sent in our payment to Kevin Knox who will be our officiant. I’m really excited about choosing him. He has sent us all kinds of information and is really quick about replying to you! So far I would definitely recommend him. We also have booked Carolyn Allens. I’m a little confused about how we pay though…Do I have to pay before I’ve received service?
Also, we booked five hair appointments and 3 make-ups with Beaute Speciale (sp?). I’m super excited about everything!! Oh, and I found the perfect bouquet on someone else’s PJ. What do you think? http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk18/arichards251/2258768486_65d526e5fa_m.jpg My mom thinks I have to add in some green. I say boo on that!! On specific things, like arrangements, she gives ball park, but all prices concerning photography and things that are for decoration like for the altar or swagging at SBP, she knows actual prices... actually as I remember there was only a couple things that she didn't have actual prices for! She's good!

Thanks girls! I'm definately going to ask about flowers in season and I'm going to e-mail her some pics too! Okay, so on with the questions...
I'm using Rev. Knox. Did anyone else use him lately? Because I could have sworn he told me to send a $50 deposit and then the remaining $150 would be due the day of the wedding. ::yes:: But...then he sent me confirmation that he recieved the retainer, and said that the remaining $175 is due on the wedding day! :worried: I know it's only $25, but that's 25 I could spend else where! Maybe, I just heard him wrong. How much did he charge anyone else? I'm a little frusterated by this!:confused3 :confused3 :confused3

did you happen to have a contract that you sent in when you sent in the deposit. If you do, it should have the balance due described within.

The good: I finally had my meeting with rosie she was great and answered all of questions, even the stupid ones!!:)
The bad: My sister is definately not going to be at my wedding!! She ships off for the army in September!! I'm trying to remember that it's a really noble thing to join the army at 23, and not focus on how sad I am that my sister and best and only friend will not be at my wedding!! On the plus side my aunt will be my matron of honor now, which is super cool, but it kind of rules out the satin and lace strappy number I was planning on have my bridesmaid wear! She would not appriciate this dress!!
The expensive: I've decide to post all the prices I went over with rosie and a copy of my budget so far! This is something that always helped me to see from other brides. It won't be a BEO, it's just my personal spread sheet that I've been using to keep track of how much I'm signing up for!! :rotfl: Hope it helps. It will be up later tonight or tomorrow morning!
Also anyother advice/reviews/prices about Rev. Knox would be awsome.

Thanks for posting this, it's very very useful!!
Which dessert party menu are you going for, it seems quite expensive?
Also what are the chair covers like that you are using for the ceremony? I have only seen the white plastic chairs used at SBP before and I've been wondering about the possibility of chair covers - I was beginning to think that perhaps these chairs were the wrong shape or something coz I'd not seen chair covers on them before :lmao:
I think your dinner price of approx $66pp will be ok if you just buy so many bottles of wine or something for the table, then that way people shouldn't be inclined to order cocktails or more expensive drinks.
If you look at the restaurant menus at wdwinfo.com this will give you all the pricing, so you could have a look at a couple of restaurants and gauge the cost that way.
We are also hoping for SBP and Morocco as locations, so this has been super useful :thumbsup2 I'd be interested to hear how much the glow cylinders are for the dessert party too, I'm sure someone was kind enough to tell me the pricing before, but I didn't note it down :upsidedow

Glad to see you decided to go with the chair covers; they are definitely worth the money!
Who are you using for hair and makeup? If the person owns their own business you don't have to tip them; same theory applies to photographer. For our wedding coordinator and assistant, we bought them gift cards.
As a side note, there are a lot of affordable options for video. After receiving ours a few weeks ago I'm so glad that we didn't cut it. Especially getting married out of state, we have had so many people that want to watch it with us (even after we played it at our at-home reception). If you're open to it at all, I highly suggest making the investment. Just a little food for thought :goodvibes

Meryll- :) We did add on for our dessert party, ours costs $27 person, instead of $22. And we're hoping to add alcohol (so I rounded up!):) For the Chair covers they bring in chairs from the hotel and cover those. There is no cost for them to bring the hotel chairs, only the $8.50 per chair cover. If you choose to rent another kind of chair there is a:scared1: $190 fee. :bitelip: I'll be sure to post the cylander prices, I'm waiting for an e-mail from rosie with this!!
Snowhite-we haven't decided yet:confused3 , we're trying to finalize our guest list first. Any recomendations would be great! We want to stay pretty close to the Boardwalk and Epcot.
Figment-Thanks for the tip about the tips! We're still thinking about the video. My mom is also getting us CC:hyper: (I can't write it out because it's a surprise, and my fam reads this!) So we have to consider that too with our pricing!

http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk18/arichards251/St_James_Pre-Reception31.jpg

I don't know of any offhand. I know that some of the other areas have them for sure. Three that I can think of off the top of my head are California Grill at the Contemporary, Jiko at Animal Kingdom Lodge, and Citricos at the Grand Flordian. I'm sure some of the other ladies will have a lot more information for you!

Ok, the St. James room it is. After much MUCH MUCH drama! It's going to be over $100 dollars a person:scared1: , once all the fees and alcohol is added on. Too much for what was supposed to be a "small hassle free wedding." :rotfl: It was "small and hassle free" until I found this board...I blame you all for my wedding craziness!! :goodvibes :disrocks: :goodvibes But, Dave's mom is going to pay half. Which is really kind of her and solves the future problem on my mom asking my dad (they're divorced) to fork over money for his meal at my wedding. (Needless to say they're not close still). It's going to make our day so easy. My family is...well complicated so the easier the day the less likely a brawl is to break out! :rotfl: Our second choice was Jiko's but they could not seat us together and the private room was even more expensive than the St. James room. Now,I've really got to figure out center pieces. I would love to see pics and prices for the glow cylinders, because I'm apparently not expressing well what I want to Rosie. Don't get me wrong, she's great, I can't put together coherent sentences...in case you haven't noticed. LOL
Moral of the story plz post your dessert party decor pics!!!

Today is a very good day because of two things...
1. I finally learned how to use that chip thing in my digital camera, Coming soon detailed pics of bodice and which flowers match best!!
2. I'm going to ask my niece ella to be my flower girl. I got her this cookie (it turns out telling anyone your getting married in Disney World gives you automatic perks) They decorated the cookie with a crown and flower for free! And gave me a discount on the cookie, which was only $1.50!! And then the girl at the register took a discount off the balloon! What's that about?!? Awesome, that's what!! So here is what I'm going to give her today when I ask her!! (Note: she's six and she'll dig it! Hope you do too!!)

I don't mind at all if you want to ask Rosie to duplicate the Figment accents. I can forward you the picture that Laura sent me when she made up the sample if you want it to share with Rosie. Just PM me your email address.

I heard that Paul Looper is no longer at Disney. Is this true? I requested him and now I'm really nervous. I don't want to hire an outside photographer for a few reasons. We don't really want to spend the extra cash on pictures, when we hate to have our pictures taken. Also by doing that, i think (i could be wrong) that Disney offers another photo session to "make-up" for what was included in your package and we're not really interested. We're just not picture people (I think we took 5 pics last time we were there). And lastly I think DF will get frusterated quickly with pics and therefore will look grumpy in them. It seems silly but it could totally happen!! But, all of this doesn't change the fact that I still want great wedding pics, just not a million of them.
So... who else at Disney would you recomend? Any pics would be apprieciated. I need someone who can make me look good, because I'm so UNphotogenic!

Also, the flowergirl dress. I was thinking about a different one, but this one is significantly cheaper, but do you think it matches mine. I'll post my bodice first than the FG dress pics! Well it looks like I'm finally on track with Disney. I got an unoffical BEO from my Wedding Planner today! She's so cool!! Everything overall is more expensive than we originally planned, but we're not having an at home reception so I'm justifying it that way!!:lmao: Besides, you only get married once!! So now it's on to more fun stuff! And, if I save on the fun stuff...I can add more to my wedding!! I'm so bad!! :rotfl: My DF would die if he knew how much this wedding really cost!! So I hoping to get this wrap! I think it is so cute and hopefully it will be warm enough for a January DP, b/c I get cold really easily!

This week I'm going to try and find shoes (2 pair, 1 hot pair and one comfy). To those SBP brides out there, I've never been on the boardwalk, will I be okay in skinny heels or will I wipe out, or get stuck!, on the way down the aisle?
Also, the flowergirl dress. I was thinking about a different one, but this one is significantly cheaper, but do you think it matches mine. I'll post my bodice first than the FG dress pics! Please let me know what you think!?! Do you think the pinks are close enough?? Oh yeah and while I could be biased of course.

I also love this one, but it's a little more than I wanted to spend: http://www.marysbridal.com/flowergirls/f846.htm
Oops how did a pic. of my not so little furbaby get in there!!:rotfl:

BTW: sorry some of the pics are so big, photobucket is not my friend!!
The wrap is so pretty! Does it come with that pin to hold it or are you using one of your own? I also love the first FG dress!!! The pink is perfect!! I wish I could look for my FG's dresses but they are going to change so much over the next year it will have to be done a couple of months before my wedding. Oh well, what can you do???
Your puppy is adorable!!:cutie: I wish I could get a puppy!!!

I love your cape!!!
I was at SBP in June for the first time and in my opinion, I think skinny heels would cause a wipe out. I got chunkier heels because I am such a clutz to begin with...:rotfl:

Today I got the flowergirl dress. :cloud9: It's more sparkley than it looks in the pictures (and we all know how I feel about sparkle). So here it is. Oh yeah, and the lovely little girl in the dress is my niece, who I must say was so well behaved today, although she always is. There is something about well behaved children I just adore...I think thats the teacher in me coming out.

I think the best part about the dress is that she loves it!
Oh, and she asked me today who was coming to the wedding? Is Mickey coming? I told her that mickey had to work that day, but I have to admit she's got me considering it. ::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo pluto: :donald: :goofy: It's amazing the effect of an adorable 6 year old can have on your budget!

I have a 6yr old neice/flowergirl too, only mine wasn't so well behaved on Saturday when we found her dress...

Queenie-It was $155 (we bought it off the rack and got 10% off). It's by mary's bridal, but I can't find it on their website. Sorry, I don't have the style #, if you need it though, I can get it for you. Just let me know.

Love the FG dress and you just might have to consider adding Mickey to your budget. We are doing both Mickey and Minnie and I could not do a wedding at Disney without them. Depending on your budget - maybe you could do just one.
